  1. I requested the watch as you see it from Davidsen. I didn't assemble it myself. I haven't decided if I will send it out to have the vintage treatment done or follow one of the DIY tutorials. As for the engraving, I will pay to have that done. The only thing I can lay claim to doing is borrowing the look from a vintage Panerai I have always admired, and making the strap.
  2. It's a project because I plan to do some sort of custom engraving on the caseback as well as a full vintage treatment to the hands, lume and dial. I will probably even roughen up the case a little bit as well.
  3. How does the Davidsen spring bar mod dep buckle engraving and overall shape compare to the others?
  4. Thanks but I didn't really find anything there...good resource for the future though./
  5. I like the Hamilton movement. I wonder where he finds those? I think that is cool in an unbranded homage. Dial texture is nice and lume color is cool.
  6. I have one 44mm Ti, black sandwich dial with subsec (Swiss ETA 6497 with modified Chinese bridges/dagger/swan neck w/display back). One 44mm PVD, black base sandwich dial (base Swiss ETA 6497 w/display back). One 44mm brushed/polished with white base dial (base Swiss ETA 6497 w/display back). One 47mm custom 187 look watch (Asian 7753). One 47mm brushed/polished vintage case w/ tobacco base sandwich dial with vintage lume and vintage gold hands, plus domed sapphire crystal, and closed case back (basic hi beat Chinese 6497 clone). Still waiting for 45 or 47mm PVD Radiomir with black mil hands, black sandwich dial w/phantom lume and subsec with black second hand. I have a black monster croc strap with black ammo stitching waiting for that. I would love a "PVD" Soprod movement with display case back but not sure if that will ever happen. Last watch I would like is the blue dialed submersible with the nipple markers on the bezel and subsec in 44mm size. I have a nice deep reddish brown strap with blue stitching to fit it. Here are some of my current collection:
  7. Thank you. I still need a PVD phantom radiomir, and a submersible with blue dial. Thank you I simply requested a crown guard with no marking because it is an homage and I didn't want to get into that grey area.
  8. Well really any picture may help. I might end up having to vector trace it to get the final result.
  9. mmmm yes. Very blingy. Needs a blue dial too. lol Make it a response to the Rolex TT blue dial sub.
  10. I have a new vintage homage watch and I got a solid caseback so I can do some kind of an engraving on it. I would like to do one of the pig/maiale. I imagine I would need some kind of vector graphic or high res image. I am not sure if it will just be the outline or more detail. If you have any images, please share them. Thanks.
  11. I think the rose gold fits the radiomir style better. A very nice, dressy watch. The Luminor case is nice also but comes off a little more "blingy" to me. Now, a two tone luminor with two tone bracelet might be interesting...
  12. Thanks. I am going to hold off on modding it for more vintage goodness until I have "broken it in" on the wrist. I also need to find some time to put together some really nice straps for it. A B&W version:
  13. I requested to not have it on there. So this is how it came.
  14. Can you PM or email me some more info. I am making a custom watch similar to the one on the left and am looking for someone to do some vintage work. Thanks
  15. I agree. I never inquired about replicas as such. I would just keep it vague and just say you want custom printing. Though if you approached an actual watch modder for the project, it would obviously have to come up. And in that case I would advise against it personally. However, you may be able to find out some basic info anyway. Best of luck.
  16. Unfortunately I am out of the loop now. For a while I was looking into making some custom watches and talked to a number of people who do make custom dials. I would take a look at watchuseek. They have a watch making section. You could ask there or maybe do a search on Timezone.
  17. I don't disagree but people seem motivated to buy his dial anyway, so it was just a suggestion.
  18. Lost/seized? Did you have a tracking number? Insurance? Why wouldn't he just replace them all for the original deal? Was the loss/seizure your fault? It seems to me that he has a pretty good profit margin and it would make more sense to replace the watches, perhaps making no profit, in order to provide good customer service and keep you as a repeat buyer. That is not to mention word of mouth. I guess if it was your fault though, that might be a different story.
  19. SanDave on 'risti Before you buy though, maybe email me if you like. I custom ordered these and for what they are they are fine but I certainly could give you a couple pointers from past experience.
  20. It is unfortunate, but these things happen. I guess if the deal can't be resolved in a manner that is acceptable for both parties, it should just be canceled and each party should be made whole in the manner the were before the deal. However, that may not be possible in this situation, what do I know? I hope it works out for both parties though.
  21. Well you would have to have a dial printer or send it to someone who does...
  22. Wow. No clue what actually transpired. I doubt any resolution will come from a thread like this unfortunately.
  23. You can buy an homage watch complete with a bracelet for around $100. Sizzlin just uses basic Chinese cases. Probably the same as standard rep but I am not sure. That being said, you can get an entire watch from them for $120 or less. So I wouldn't pay more than $50 for a case.
