  1. Are these available with no text at all?
  2. Looks great. I am planning to buy a PVD 45mm rad. Of course Davidsen is priced at $420. By the time you get the Swiss 6497, and a sapphire crystal and change out the dial, and possibly the hands, what do you think your savings will be?
  3. It looks good. "Perfect" for me might be the Ted Su black dyed Swiss ammo pouch strap, but that one is nice none the less.
  4. looks great. This is the strap culture buckle I prefer for my pilot watches: http://strapculture.com/sc_buckle/scb1011.html
  5. Do you have any of your own lume pictures maybe next to another of your watches? I find the upgraded superluminova in the Davidsen watches are decent, and definitely better than what I have seen and heard for some standard reps, or low end homage watches. I am wondering if the lume on the phantom is at least as good as a basic entry level watch.
  6. The Radiomir shows the PVD I would get which is a Davidsen PVD so it will be nice and dull like charcoal. The pictures of the phantom watch are the shinier cases. I won't be using that type of case, just the custom dial work. I do want even the hands to have the dark grey lume treatment. It really will be like that B&R phantom watch. You can probably just sand down the edges to get it smaller right?
  7. That looks amazing.
  8. This is what I have done with my white dial:
  9. Sounds awesome. Do you have pictures? I currently have 5 homages and I could see easily getting another 3 or 4. Yikes. I love this one:
  10. I have been thinking about this watch concept for a long time. A few other people have come close to this design on their own recently. I'm pretty sure I will love it. What do you think? Start with this watch: (45mm rad) http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff85/james123chen/45mm%20radiomir%20with%20sub%20dial%20watch/45mm%20pvd%20cass%20with%20black%20hands/DSCF8746.jpg?t=1218901397> But with mil style hands like this: http://www1.zoto.com/oldskool/img/800x800x2/01158cd6f380ffd40996f52e60b205d5.jpg> Then the "Phantom" treatment: http://www.zoto.com/oldskool/img/1024x676/3383a719281a476ff9fcfcdc3b2da3af.jpg> Can't decide between base dial and subsec but I am leaning towards the subsec.
  11. I have sandwich now, and originally wanted sausage...but it seems like there is no reason to change to sausage dial because it will cost more and have weak lume. What about white numbers vs vintage color numbers? Originally I wanted vintage but went with white. I LOVE the white, but maybe I would also love the vintage?
  12. If you had to choose between these two, which would you choose? The lume on the sausage dial would initially be weaker. It would require relume and would get the vintage lume color treatment. So the question is, do you pay a lot more and get vintage sausage dial lume or a lot less and get a while sandwich dial with good lume?
  13. If price is no object, I would contact Shane Delaurian.
  14. Where can I find these: crown guard complete with lever for standard 44mm case with screws. Sterile, solid caseback, or see through sterile if it is somehow easier or cheaper. How much should I expect to pay?
  15. t, who has a LOT of experience and I mean a LOT, with the 6497 movements, states very clearly that the level of detail and quality are just not close to the Swiss ones. Since the pricing difference, about $50, is so small, it would be my advice to get the Swiss. This is especially considering the movements may become more rare and/or more expensive in the near future.
  16. Thanks. It really is my favorite I think. It's so hard to decide.
  17. Looks good. A guy posted some over on Paneristi and apparently Walter asked him to not sell them so he stopped. All the other members suggested that he continue to sell them because it isn't patented. So, I am sure you could have good luck selling them over there. Walter's prices are quite high.
  18. I love them. I don't have enough though. One of my River ones exploded. Not good. They do seem to be a tiny bit flimsy.... Any options for less expensive ones in this style?
  19. At the time, I assume there were more than one manufacturer. The details are not 100% identical. Chances are some were made out of molds with pot steel. (sand cast). You will see some Ted Su buckles with the similar look to them. Pretty cool.
  20. What can you tell me about the power reserve movement?
  21. I am tempted to get one with a good case and send it to a friend in HK to have the case reproduced...that is if they are as rare as people claim... But it seems there are many available on iOffer.
  22. Just curious, as I don't know anything about these watches... I did a search for 40mm on iOffer and found a ton of watches for sale from $85 to $280. Descriptions from Japanese 7750 to asian 2836 to Swiss case, etc. How do I determine what is crap and what is decent? Is there any source for aftermarket parts for these watches? If case the crown and crown guard suck, or the crystal gets scratched, etc. What about sterile case backs?
  23. Thanks for the info. I'll have to see what I can do.
  24. I will gladly take any info you can give me. I am not personally making these buckles either. I am just trying to help a friend do it right.
