  1. Oh well, let's be nice: it happens to every human to have a bad day.

But then, indeed, the lack of sense of humor may be permanent for some, unfortunately ;-)

Anyways, as said by Nanuq...you're more than welcome, here!

  2. Wow, that is unbelievable.
Sorry to say but a member sending whatever in a regular envelop wrapped in toilet paper, really?
    And admitting it ?!
In my books, he owes you the 200$.

Wrapping the item in bubble plastic, then into a carton protection and finally in a bubbled envelop is the minimum.
When it comes to a watch, I would wrap it like described here above and add tape all over the envelop edges just to make sure the alleged indestructible envelop doesn't fail the journey.

Simple advice to the sellers here: if you do not have the proper wrapping material handy, delay the sending and buy some.
Your buyer will prefer to get it's purchase intact 24 hours later rather than nothing at all.

    Cheers

  3.

Well, my guess is that our staff would all reply the same thing:

    - transactions between members are...between members. We are not the police.

    - we do however leave threads and posts like this open for anyone to review

    - there are always two parties in a dispute and each party is entitled to explain their point of view.

In short, we do not ban on request.

    Cheers

  4. Well, I don't want to sound like an expert but I've been through a lot of changes in my own GW project.
I end up having something I like very much for a budget way under the 1.500 €.

My case is an old school MBW and the movement is a non stack 2846.

The question I ask myself these days is whether I want a 1:1 or a "as close as possible" in terms of look on the wrist.
I go for the second option whatever watch it is.

I cannot afford genuine anymore but use to own quite a number of Rolex.
I had to sell them all.

But, if my business goes up again, I wouldn't go the rep way for sure.
Reps are great when you like a watch but not enough to make it one of your top 10 desired one.

I understand that buying a gen GW overseas is a hard move but I'm sure some of our US based members can help you to source one and check it in the flesh.
If you have the funds, go genuine.
A GW MK2 (Rail dial) can only become a collectible piece over the years and will probably end up in the 25K.

    Cheers

  5. What a great gesture. Love the watch. I was confused about the ability of a 7750 to operate with asymmetrical pushers and I asked the question some years ago. I was told (and I have no reason to doubt it) that the areas on the outside of the movement where the start/stop/reset pushers make contact are not small specific points but more like elongated plates which means the pushers do not have to be in an exact place. Just as long as they make contact with the plate at some point along its length the functions of the watch work fine. I hope this explanation (which is from memory) makes sense and that the info I received then, is accurate. Makes sense to me, because as you know these rep daytonas which have A7750 movements can be found inside non-asymmetrical cases as well as asymmetrical ones and I find it difficult to believe that the movements are modified to function, it would cost too much n'est ce pas?

    Thanks for sharing!

Yes, makes totally sense. Indeed it would be trop cher ;-)
