  1. Guys, My watch came back from Domenico. It is working now. He serviced my 2846 and installed it in my SnowFlake. Thanks Domi. Stephane
  2. Dear all, I am building a SnowFlake for a while now. I would very much appreciate your advice on what more needs to be done. Some facts It all started with a great gesture from Ubi and By-Tor: Then, after a good member found a source for a mystery case, www.girards.com, it continues like this: The watch went to Tribal to change the crown and crystal: But, neither Tribal nor MM could fix the movement that was truly dead. So I bought a 2846 from Abakan and sent the watch and spare movement (2846) to Domenico: The 2846 came back serviced and installed in the watch. Questions 1) The Crystal is cracked so I assume it is too big and I need to find a better one. As anybody a reference at Clarks for a crystal that would fit this unknown case? 2) The insert and pearl are typical low quality aftermarket. What would you suggest I buy? ClassicWatchParts? Thanks for your time. Cheers Stephane
  3. Still in progress, but working at least
  4. As said many times but never enough: LANI YOU ROCK
  5. Well that is the purpose isn't it? That everyone feels at home
  6. I'm sorry Rick, I have no idea. It could as well be the one of the rep box I had...if it's my box of course (but I'm more and more convinced that Yello bought it from me...
  7. All I can add is that on my picture the difference between a gen and a fake is obvious... Also, if I understand it well, Yello sold the gen one for 110
  8. Guys, If I remember correctly this box was mine. I had two boxes: one from a dealer here (not sure which though), one from Tomyama (eBay) The box is absolutely genuine has it is the one from Tomyama. The fake one is now in Andy's hands (FrxAnady) As Yello posted, the libreto and screwdriver and so on are fake, but the box is not. If any of you know Tomy, they should know he never sells fake stuff. Allthough neither Yello, nor me are sure this box comes originaly from me, I thought I should shime in. I would absolutely recomend to ask SSSurfer's opinion about it Hope this helps, Stephane
  9. Delta is right. This is the month of 1655 Congrats Lani, it looks trully beautifull. The tropic looks to sit perfectly so I guess your case is very good. Maybe you could give us a short list of details about the parts ...
  10. Well, I recently went with mine to visit a collector/dealer and we compared his with this Girards. I have the feeling the bezel is completely off, at least for a SnowFlake. Anyway, thanks for you input Freddy. I'll wait for it to come back and start to hunt a gen insert and pearl first
  11. Thanks Freddy, me too...a bit scary though Not wanting to thread crap but my Girards is coming back soon, as a SnowFlake though, and I wonder if on top of the insert and pearl, the bezel shouldn't be changed too... Any opinion on this? Doable?
  12. You mean Deep Sea BT ? Well, it's not that I trully like it, it is an amazing rep for sure and gives me the feeling that my 16600 has been on steroids Beautiful photo Laz. And, sincerely, I'm happy you finaly get your grail watch...KEEP IT ! Great composition Donerix, thanks for sharing Wow, that shot makes me almost like another brand than Rolex Hike Great photo of a great watch. Congrats! Is this the Girards one Freddy? Ok, so I lost my pearl and the "pearl support" on the deep sea I have no idea how to fix this...but for sure don't want to wear it anymore...at the moment. So, after a short 3717 break, back to the original SD now
