  1. I'll follow ChefCook here (almost). - gen crown - gen tube - gen bezel insert - gen tropic (not as expensive as the super dome and wonderfull) - CG mod - drill lugholes - gen springbars - gen 93150 bracelet (because you can use it on various Subs anyway) - slow beat eta - HE valve fix - give dial and hands new "lume": The tritium on a 1665 should not glow anymore after that amound of time. (Indeed!) - age everthing a bit - 1665 is an old watch, therefore it should have a slightly used look. And, buy the way, 20K is what you should spend to get a genuine Cheers Stephane

  8. I asked some friends about keeping or selling it and in the end it makes sense to keep it indeed. And I must recognize that I loved to wear it these last days

  17. @By-Tor: I think I'll follow your advice in the end. I wore it yesterday evening at a cocktail. While talking to one of the directors of the radio I saw he couldn't stop looking at the watch Of course, whithout mentionning it. As it is a Rolex he was probably thinking "rep or real" @Mrandazzo: I love the photo, splendid, really! @JoJo: hmmm, well, you know what I mean
  18. Agreed. But still, if I owned such a watch, believe me I wouldn't let the dial be damaged
  19. On a watch! Why not? But on a dial ? That dial in any case will only be a dial, not a 100% full original watch.
  20. Hi w.genzo: I asked for a service of the mvt and stated DO NO POLISH IT. They looked at me like if I came from Mars Now, whit all the mess I have no idea how the watch is going to come back ...probably polished. I'll have to scratch it all over again, which will be a pleasure If only Ziggy came to Europe, I would do that Last time I asked to a "local" watchmaker to fix a crystal it costed 35 euros for a 5 minute job. I do not trust strangers, I only trust people from this community or the RSC.
  21. Well for the double cash you can get a full watch from here: http://www.subgmt.com/en/vintage_rolex.php Can't believe these prices Is there anybody buying a dial only ?
  22. Jojo, that 1680 is a gem! It's very exiting to see how close it can be! And another congratulation for the triple 6 of course.
