  1. First of all, I personally recommend Flav for mods. He is THE MAN.

But, IMO, you will want to mod the PAM at some point for sure. Must have mods are:

    1) Lume

    2) cannon pin (the center pin that holds the hour and minute hands is inaccurately recessed; this will become glaring to you after a while)

    3) Crown (the aftermarket crown is thicker and sharper on the edges)

CG lever is a popular mode, but IMO not absolutely necessary.

  2. If you or I were loaded, we'd probably be sneaking looks at the genuine!

For under $800, I would recommend the Cartier Chrono with ETA 7753 ... a much more reliable movement, and a striking watch to boot.

Sorry to hijack this thread but I have to agree wholeheartedly with this comment. The Sant chrono 7753 is a work of art. Surprised it's not more popular...

  3. I had advised that Buy it Now winner Balmon once before that a watch he purchased may be fake, because the seller had one listed that was pulled after it was reported..

Balmon claimed it was genuine and offered to sell it to me at a slight loss.

Who knows whats going on here....

Maybe a tag team scam? Buyer and seller are either one and the same using different Ebay accounts, or partners. They take the loss in Ebay listing fees and PP points to build trust, and then make back a nice profit off of a single sale.

  4. I think it's way cool. Surprisingly it looks great. Thought it would wear too large on you but I take that back. I completely hear you re PP, but Davidsen seems to have a good rep, if you'll pardon the horrible pun.

  5. Vic, so sorry to hear of yet another failed attempt at getting what you want. I would guess that the crystal cracked in transit, as per Ken's suggestion. Temperature changes apparently plays a part in these things as well. Had a friend with 2 cracked crystals on his 50. Look at this as an opportunity to do your first mods--looks like you need a cannon pin anyway, so I would send it off to one of the "Big Four" for this mod and installation of a nice new crystal. While it's at the spa, get it lumed. Your watch will come back better than when new and you'll finally feel good about your watch. :)

If you decide you want to sell your Fiddy, and start from the beginning, I'd probably go for the Davidsen.
