  1. Thats interesting, my panda runs great (knock on wood). It is very accurate, winds on my winder, and the second hand runs smoothly. The power reserve is about 24 hours though when not wound. I really abused this watch when I first purchased it. I ran the chrono all the time and never had a problem. Mine works great and it is one of my favorite watches.

I saw one at the AD with a silver dial that looked great. I dont think that silver dial can be replicated.
  3. Can you see the change in texture through the number cut out. Does it look much different than stock. Can you tell it has been relumed? Thanks, ck
  4. Has anyone tested to see how water resistant and serviced 183 is? I noticed that there is an opening around the crown tube and didnt know if this did not allow for a water tight seal. Thanks, ck
  5. I own 4 reps and 2 gens. My 3 favorite watches are the 183, the AT, and the Porto Chrono. I never wear the Sub because I dont like the perception wearing a rolex causes. It is a nice watch but needs a new bezel insert and the crown guards need to be filed down. I will probably sell this one. I like the 192, but I dont wear it much, I may sell this one as well. I recently purchased the 183 and love it. I am going to send it to The Zigmeister for reluming, servicing, and canon pinion.
  6. Does anyone know where to get a signed Panerai tang thumbnail buckle? How much do the OEM ones cost? Thanks, ck
  7. River has a great Swiss 183H for $179. I bought that one and will end up reluming the dial and hands, and possibly changing the cannon pinion. The cannon pinion is pretty good on this watch, but I think I want it perfect. This watch is fantastic it is very close and no other dealer will beat the price.
  8. It doesnt seem like a difficult watch to replicate. http://www.watchseller.com/chrontimblac.html
  9. I have the silver dial with black subdial portuguese and love the watch. I love it more than my gens. My Port runs 8 seconds fast and keeps really good time. I played with the chrono quite a bit at first, timing the subway and my trips home. I have no complaints with this watch. I went to my AD and tried on the black dial model and think the rep look remarkably close to the gen. As much as I like the one with the blue handsI just dont think its close enough to the gen. To say this watch panda or domino dial does not look like the gen is silly. The gen has a bit more presence, but I guess thats what you get for the additional $3-4K. I bought a croc strap to dress the watch up and it looks stunning. I wish I had the disposable income purchase the gen, but for now this is by far my favorite watch. Doesnt the gen work off of a modified 7750?
  10. What type of strap is that? Thanks, ck
  11. Im trying to decide which version of the Navitimer is the most accurate? Are the new 6-9-12 Nav's the most accurate? Their dial looks the nicest, but I cant seem to find pics of the gens online. Your help would be appreciated.
  12. The new Navi World looks like it has a gap between the dial and date window. There seems to be a shadow.
  13. I was just surfing on Josh's site and noticed he has the new Navitimer world with more accurate case back. What do you guys think? Maybe we should group buy this watch.
  14. I may join in too if we are talking about th eEL piece and the price is about $200 or below.
  15. I sent Chronomat a sub as a trade, he no longer wanted the sub when it arrived, but had not sent out his watch. Well, I am still waiting for my sub from Chronomat (its been slightly over a week) so feel lucky that you didnt pay or enter into a transaction. I am not making any accusations yet just stating a fact.
  16. 1 and 3 are gen. The 007 seamaster has a bad 12 o'clock hour marker. The two markers are not aligned correctly. I am just guessing that 6 is a rep. The AT shouldnt have a gap in the date wheel. I have a gen and it doesnt have a gap. I think the end links look a bit funny. They dont align to the watch as well as my AT. They all look good though.
  17. This is my first 7750 and I dont really hear the rotor. I can sure feel it though . I have played with the chrono's quite a bit and they reset fine. My watch is about 5 seconds fast.
  18. What kind of strap are you thinking of getting? I have been looking around but have not decided which to get.
  19. The hands on the Panda model are really done well. I would say they are very close, I went to the AD and checked a few gens today. The dial is as good as a rep is going to get. Maybe if there is interest the rep factories will come out with another generation. I think you will all be surprised at how well the dial is made. The watch has nice presence there is a lot of sparkle from the numerals and polished parts of the case. The only major flaws are the sub dials not being as recessed on the panda, 4 small tic marks instead of 3, and the polished case back. I think that the numerals are raised a bit more on the gen too, but that is just being nitpicky.
  20. Asian 7750's have already been modded for GMT functionality.
  21. The concentric circles are really fine and you cant see them unless you look at them at an angle. This is my first 775 movement the quality of the watch is fantastic. I gave it to a coworker today who knows that I buy reps and I told him I paid 7K for it. He believed it, but couldnt believe I would spend so much money on a watch. At that point I told him it was a rep and he couldnt believe how good the watch looked. Now he is not a watch collector so that doesnt mean much. So far the issues I see are the seconds hand is not 100% smooth. Its close but jerks a teeny bit. Since it is so minor I hope that it goes away as the gears wear. The chrono hand is very smooth unlike my Venus 192, which seems to tick. The pushers require much more effort to get the chrono working than the venus. I am hoping that with a little oil and cleaning that the seconds might become very smooth. How finicky is the chrono on the new 7750's? Can I run it all the time. I have left my venus chrono on for days without problems. The watch also seems to keep good time. Although the watch does not have a date window the crown will still pop out 2x. Is it unwise to wind or turn the crown in the date change position. I know there is no reason to, just curious.
  22. On the panda version the concentric circles are very small and difficult to see. The sub dials should be recessed a bit more.
  23. I got my IWC Portuguese Panda today and it looks great!!!!! I love this watch the quality is really really good. You cannot notice any sparkle. The dial looks silvery white. Thanks Eddie.
