  1. Ever resolve this? I lost my VIP status when PayPal dropped the forum. Now I want to list some reps for sale.
  2. Follow-up: I got a DWO from BK and sent the watch to mymanmatt for DW repair because the DW broke loose inside. Turns out there was damage inside and the DWO was not centered. Everything good now. I'm happy with it.
  3. I was here: And here: And here: All in one place...
  4. Thanks. I sent it off to him. Hopefully it can be fixed. I handled a gen 116610LN today and realized that although the v2 is really nice, it's still a bit different from the gen. The thing that grabs me immediately is the bezel insert. The gen engraving is so much sharper and deeper. I also realized how necessary the platinum mod is.
  5. Your choice of TD is very personal. Sometime it depends on what your looking for (eg noob vs BP products). Otherwise I've found Andrew at TT and Toro Bravo to be the most helpful and receptive to inquiries. You'll develop your own preferences in time.
  6. I have to agree with you. I have a noob v2 and I really like it--and this is coming from a guy that isn't really into rolex watches. Rep or not its a very nice watch. Only problem is that the DW came loose inside and hopefully can be serviced. If not, I'll order another one.
  7. Funny. I run into a lot of docs as a medic and I rarely see any wearing decent wrist watches. Saw a nice Daytona once. A few submariners. One PAM243. My sons pediatrician wears a nice ladies DJ. But i see just as many luxury watches on RNs I deal with. Maybe it's an ER thing? But all the ER docs seem to wear Casios.
  8. Welcome Diver Doug! As for reliability: My personal experience has been all over the place with movements. I've had both low-end (2813) and high end movements (A2824, ETA 2824) and neither has been more reliable or less than the other. It's a total crap shoot in this business. It took me a while to just accept the fact that you must factor in a servicing to any replica watch you buy. That way you won't be disappointed when it craps out on you. The only difference I have seen between the 2813 and 2836/2824 movements is a smoother second hand sweep. I've since developed a personal disdain for any automatic replica chronograph movement (the 7750s) as every single one I've owned has developed issues on short order. A lot of this hobby is trial and error.
  9. From the ambulance standpoint I'm not sure how things are going to change for me. I've been giving frivolous ambulance rides to homeless and public housing people for years and I'm sure I'll be doing the same for years to come.
  10. I'm envious! I wish there was something like that here locally. I really want that to be my retirement gig--working on watches. The only way for me to learn is YouTube. And trial and error. Good luck to you!!
  11. Thanks for the referral. I'm really bummed about it because its a nice watch otherwise.
  12. I feel your pain sir. My Sub C noob v2 was perfect for me until the date wheel came loose inside and started moving around. What a bummer. Glad to see you posting again Mike!!
  13. Crown is all locked up but the date wheel moves around. Not a lot. Just enough to go out of center if you turn the watch upside down. Turn the watch right side up and it moves back. What gives?
  14. I looked it up. Thanks for the info. I feel a little bit better about my noob dial.
  15. Thanks for shedding some light on this issue. Do you know if there were different production runs for certain time periods? Would you happen to have the link for the discussion you mentioned? And if it is true that some Gen 116610s have a big f, then why do people keep posting otherwise? Sometimes I wonder if guys that post here just make sh*t up.
  16. Looks nice huh? I posted it because of the big "f" in the "1000 ft" Everything I've read tells me that the big "f" means Rep for sure. But this pic came from a watch review article of the 116610LN. So I was wondering if the author actually reviewed a rep? Or do some Gen Sub Cs come with a big "f"?
  17. See. Just don't show anyone your watch on the 10th of the month.
  18. I received my watch and the tracking still said handed over to customs in GZ.
  19. Think so. But I've been getting kinda tired of trial and error lately. Time consuming even if not very costly.
  20. Any experience with these? http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=310366335638&kw=310366335638
  21. Best place to pick up replacement springbars? I had a b*tch of a time getting the SELs out and managed to tweak both sides. Now they don't sit right. My usual sources for spring bars sell ones that look a little too skinny. Thanks gang!
