@freddy.....very thoughtful idea, I think all newbie (including myself) should read that. As I learn more, getting a rep is fun but also tricky....since they are not genuine you really have to know how to set a balance and adjust your expectation.

... there's no way of telling which types of mailing service will have less chance to be search or inspect. To be fair, you have very right to choose the shipping method you feel good about and IMO it is not a bad idea for the dealer to follow your instruction since you live in that country and you may know better. I'm not sure is there a policy to ensure 100% refund in the event of a custom seizure, however IMO even if you choose a different mailing service other than the one dealer want to use, and if the item got seized by custom you should NOT be penalized just because you want to use DHL other than EMS. Bottom line.....all pkg are subject to inspect, it's only a matter of luck. Btw, I must add......if a customer demand to use a mailing service which is NOT traceable (like regular mail) and the pkg is lost then I think that will not be the dealers' fault. Funny things is since the booming of ems, fedex, dhl, ups.....people no longer think the old fashion "REGISTERED MAIL" is safe. I don't know about you....but it happen so many times that the ups, fedex and even EMS guys just put my pkg at the front door, Registered mail? They pretty much always ask for a signature

my new rolex This is a GMT Hand adj model from Andrew, I ordered last weeks and like always it arrive in 5 days. Overall the watch looks alright except a few flaws + one defect on the crown guard which is pretty hard to capture but you may see it on the last pic. Something is interesting at 6 o clock (when the Hr hand and minute hand line up straight like you see on the last pic) It show the 6 hour marker is a bit off. Is it normal? Any common is welcome

funny, couple weeks ago I bookmark his sale on those Speedmaster try to find out what is the average price on the auction. They all sold at ~850usd, he got so many like he has unlimited supply. Too bad most of the speedmaster he sell are boy-size.

Are you serious WU charge $24 bux for transfer? Damn.....when I make my purchase I compare the final price by using cc to wu and I believe I actually have to pay $5 extra with the use of cc cuz dealer won't offer and discount like the "8% special WU rebate" but back then WU fees is only 14usd. With the increase of WU fees....I don't see any reason not to use CC, especially my bank offer the virtual acct number for free. btw, in case your bank don't have it...you can try one of those VISA/Master cash card.

the rating system could be a myth....depends how you see it. I saw many mid/low-end rep during my trip in HK/CN, one of the local merchant even surprises when I asked for Swiss movement watch. Anyway, back then when I was in Shenzhen, CN. I did see higher price on some products with better quality and they even "hide" the so called "A" items in case raid by Police (that's what the merchant said) Btw, I think many rep are shipped directly to the western world and they must have some sort of underground distribution system which let them goto the local merchants.

with the power of Internet....don't be surprises they can sell more than you ever imagine. Like someone said, our board only represent a small % of their sales volume, and also NOT everyone buy a rep is log on here. Where is the mkt? I think they are everywhere......from the dealer section here to Canal Street in NYC.....etc Although the price of the rep is much cheaper in China, HK, Thailand......but one thing for sure is the quality may not be as consistent as we see here. Some of you may already heard......there's an unofficial rating system for almost any rep products......just like the Moody's rating on Financial industry. With the price they are asking.....I bet most of the stuff our dealers sell are grade A and above. There's many many grade B or C products but we will never see it here, may be you have better luck to find them in your local street corner. IMO, the western world is where the high-end mkt is, compare to most developing countries, we have more money, we are better educated, we are more desire to luxury stuff, we are the driving force for the high-end mkt. So you think people in CN don't buy high-end rep? If you ask me, I think the majority of ppl there do not have the same knowledge (on watches) like us and they probably won't as picky as we are, at also they are much more hesitate to spend 250USD on a rep. To me, the high-end mkt is smaller in CN than here.
