Panerais never had been in my focus for many years. They always looked either to simple (000, 111 and the like) or to chunky (382, 389, 305, 194, ...).
November last year changed a lot for me...I was lusting for a new watch I never had and luckily I was able to get hold of a 616.
I never had been a strap guy too, especially when it comes to rubber straps.
But this watch with it's great rubber just felt right. The only thing that wasn't for me was the plain black...after a few weeks I knew I needed some other Panerais so I ordered a 087 and while reading and reading and reading post after post about the several PAMs available I found a thread about the 187...
BAMMM...
I read ALEs guide and decided that I couldn't care less about the recessed subdials and ordered my 187 at Toros.
Second week of January both PAMs (087 and 187) arrived and I knew I made the right decision.
The 187 is a beast and a beauty too...I love the look, the feel, the presence of it...it just feels right on my wrist.
And I really don't care about the subdials...I'm trying to get a gen dial for it but only because the date window on the rep dial is wrong for a gen 7753. Since reliability is very important for me all my watches run on swiss etas. Unfortunately that's impossible with the 187 due to the position of the date window...one has to source a gen dial which is close to impossible. But time will be my friend at this and I'm very certain that I'll find one.
