No.
I had one PAM 105 which wasn't water resistant out of the box, the dealer replaced it, and the replacement was water resistant. The first 111h I ordered(different dealer), the power reserve only lasted a few hours. The dealer exchanged it for an Omega Aqua Terra which I customized as a birthday present for my dad. Oh, and I ordered a Rolex DJ for my wife which had a link fall out the bracelet (different dealer again, but again, the replacement was fine)
Other than those incidents, I've always received satisfactory goods
[Edit to add]
I forgot about the Omega X-33s I received from Silix which weren't really satisfactory, and they also sent me the wrong vintage Sub, but that's the only really negative experiences I've had with stuff.

Probably Gaga's weakest work so far... Bad Romance and PokerFace were awesome, but this is just lame, made worse by the collaboration with Beyonce, who I can't stand at the best of times...
-
Mixing and matching rep parts like that can be a very mixed bag in terms of results... Theoretically, yes, it shouldn't be a problem, but in practice, it might be a different matter, it might be as easy to install the entire DSSD bracelet rather than sourcing a clasp, only to find that it won't fit to the links of the existing bracelet.
Best of luck

maybe we should just stick with gunnars way to handle it...
That sounds like a good idea to me, bro
TeeJay Is the misses having laryngitis really such a bad thing. I know guys that would do about anything to have such problems Mike
To be honest, she already seems to be on the road to recovery, but it definitely threw a spanner in the works for a few days Things could be worse
-
It hasn't been the best week here either, bro... My wife came down with laryngitis, my tattoo artist had to cancel our consultation which was planned for tomorrow, another tattoo artist decided to insult my work, and to top it all, I got a threatogram on a bill in the mail demanding immediate payment...

I second the suggestion for a Planet Ocean, they are fantastic watches, clean, simple design, easy to wear and use, adequate for most situations, and unlikely to attract attention

Absolutely stunning piece, K, that insert really did finish it off perfectly I can't think of a better example of the brotherhood and camaraderie which permeates this community

I'm going with a silver dial on my pre-Daytona project for two reasons: Mainly because that is the dial which came with the case and was a gift, but also because the majority of my watches are black dialled (wouldn't mind another Y-M in the future) so I figured it would be nice to have a light dial as an alternative color-scheme, rather than simply swapping between watches with black dials
-
Stops them nicking the parts and making them them selfs.
But not the soul that you think about with the big names is it, I say use the smaller manufactures that do put some soul in every watch,
Funny thing in Basel i was questioning a small brand about their movements knowing full well where they came from but when i asked who made it the answer was "Oh we do all in house"
So i walked off muttering lying barstuards
Makes the workshop sound like a diamond mine, I wonder how stringent their security is of their staff...
Actually most of the workers HBB's were empty.
It's a progressive bonus program; Work 5 years get a case, another 5 years and get a dial etc etc
Usually by 25 years they have something that ticks.
Ken
Ahhh, now that's worker incentive and job security
-
silly you TJ they wear asian HBB replicas
-
Fair enough Some women will take your head off for just a quick glance. What you looking at,? or the ever popular, " So ya like that huh? and we cant forget "what does she have that I dont have"? How about a different address for starters. OK enough from me
Yup...
-
I noticed a few of the workers wearing HBBs, I guess Hublot pays its employees well

Of the two, I'd go for the Explorer II (which should've been branded the Explorer III, but that's another story) However, when I tried on a gen Exp II, I really wasn't over impressed with it at all, so if I may, I'd like to offer this as an alternate suggestion
-
thanks TJ and i haven't forgot I owe you, remember if you need any thing in the mean time just ask.
Any time, my friend, and there's no hurry, it was a real pleasure working on the project As I mentioned the other day, the only parts I really need are a contemporary SeaDweller case for my longterm project, or a new movement for my Tudor Submariner, but the datewheel would need to line up with the datewindow (measuring at 8mm to 10.5) and I have a hunch that's going to be the proverbial needle in a haystack...
-
A new for me Double red, got it yesterday and broadened my modding skills with a lug drilling and then did two other cases and a crown guard mod (how do they look for a first attempt, I think they should be smaller)
The lume colour is a bit annoying as the dial hands and dot are all different but then so many on double red seadweller dot com are differnt also, so i don't know what to do about that.
Got a non hacking 2846 to drop in as well if i can solve the date wheel problem (white 2836 with open 6 and 9s on to a 2846)
That's a real beauty, and looks pretty much pristine I wouldn't worry about the difference between dial and hand lume, it's certainly not readily apparent in the photos, and as you mention, on DRSD.com there're differences which would occur during dial/hand swaps during maintenance... It looks fantastic as it is

Thanks I also think this one is a damn good looking FM
Here is the genuine version of it in yellow gold
Franck Muller Long Island Crazy Hour watch, rectangular 18kt yellow gold case (45mm length x 32.4mm width, 11.9mm thickness), black alligator leather strap, silver-white dial with luminous Arabic numerals in jumbled order, self-winding mechanical movement, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, water-resistant to 30 meters.
With it's pure, rectangular shape and its numerals that appear both straight and arched, the Long Island is the very synthesis of early twentieth century artistic inspiration. The House of Franck Muller proposes an original way of reading the time. The conventional clockwise arrangement of the hours from 1 to 12 is replaced by a new and original order which not only permits everyone to assign his own values to the hours but also ensures that, despite this freedom, accurate time keeping remains unimpaired.

I'm not normally a fan of gold watches, but that one's looking nice I think I prefer the $108 rep price tags though

True
I got mine back in 2005 or so and I like this FM shape and modest looking dial colour.
That jumping hour is so funny to watch
I wonder if these masculine Long Island Crazy Hours version are still being sold?
It looks awesome I got my mother in law one of the tonneau-shaped Crazy Hours in pink, and she's had several people comment on it when she's gone out, but that Long Island version really is nice. I was just flicking through WatchEden's site, and although they have several Crazy Hours (including some Long Island ones) they don't seem to have that white on white version you have, so it might be a color-scheme the factories no longer produce...

That's an awesome reproduction of the H1 I wonder how many of the "I wouldn't buy a replica watch... " snoots would quite happily slap down the plastic to get that badboy as an office ornament Sums up reps perfectly: It's not about 'the name on the dial', but a recreation of what that piece represents

Long Island CH today
That's not a watch which is seen every day, very nice
-
I never saw one before - but it was immediate love on first sight
It's an awesome result, it looks great with the watch Arctic commando issue

Thanks for the explanation TeeJay.
I'm going to get it relumed, regulated and I'm going to get it checked for water resistance.
No worries, most stuff will be water resistant from the factory, just make sure the crown and caseback are properly closed before getting them wet If you have the knowhow to strip the watch, running it under a faucet is as good a test as any, as it's been said before that reps (and other watches) are more likely to leak under simple immersion, than say if diving, as the pressure on the watch would seal any small breaches, which would not happen under a faucet... If it survives the dunk test, it should stand up to most immersions If you wouldn't be comfortable stripping the watch in the event of a leak, best take it to a professional for a pressure test One member posted photos a while back of a gen Seiko which had fogged up following a leak, so just because something's a rep, (especially the quality available on line) there's no reason to automatically assume it will leak
Are You Getting Crap Watches Too?

You might find buying cheaper reps more satisfactory than you think, ie less money down the crapper if things don't go to plan... CQout.com might not always offer the SuperReps, but the 'three strikes' policy is solid, even Tonyxkf aka WatchEden got struck out there because of buyers with unrealistic expectations complaining about the product or some minor glitch in the transaction, which forum members would understand and accept as 'part of the course' for our hobby. How many of the forum trusted dealers would still be selling here if the forum operated a 'three strikes' policy? I guess at the end of the day, it depends on just how important it is to you that the rep be 100% accurate to the gen watch out of the box... If I recall, Freddy's vintage GMT was built on a low-profile vintage Sub case from Silix, the exact same case as the current '6200 project' I'm wearing... It's just a matter of working with what's available at the best value for money
