  1. I can't draw, but here I was just playing with style and colour.

Not happy with the face of this one but it gets the idea across :p

Looking good :good: I would suggest keeping the flower in the blue palette though, it makes a nice contrast compared to the yellow one, which kind of blurs more with the other color :)

  2. Yes understand, but i thought that when you went to a tattooist they dont do an initial outline, it was one go and thats it ,apart from the transfer or free hand. Oh and the colouring.

I know if its complex you have to have multiple visits. I have eight on both arms and now always wear long sleeves if i go out, i cant stand them, how stupid i must have been in early 20s, or as seventhexcile puts it a pr!ck.

It really does depend on the size and complexity of a tattoo. With larger pieces, artists will often lay down initial outlines as a kind of permanent stencil, rather than having to re-apply a stencil each time. Freehanding is definitely the easiest way to go with a large piece, as it allows the artist to just 'work', and it doesn't matter how many sessions are needed, as they can just start working fresh each time, but, if the design has very specific details (such as the scale detailing on my dragon, which is not the standard scale pattern) to save lengthy drawing sessions, a transfer is quicker, but getting a stencil to match up again can be incredibly difficult/near impossible depending on the area being tattooed, so an initial outline can be the way to overcome that. Another issue I had, is that the artist who did the initial work on the dragon, got his ass bent out of shape when he heard that someone had allowed me to use tattoo equipment (scared of competition) and I refused to let him tattoo me further, so I've been waiting for another artist to develop his skill sufficiently (and to have the spare time) to take over the project. Downside of which, is the dragon's lower claw hasn't been done, which would at least make that section of the design look more complete, regardless of the rest of the body being absent. It'll get finished in time though, once my friend gets the time to get his skills back up to par, as at the moment, he's had to deal with moving house and a pregnant fiance, so he hasn't had the time to be able to practice his tattooing :(

As you quite correctly say, if it's complex, it takes multiple sessions. As with the lotus I did on E's leg, we only had the time to do the outline, so next time we'll add shading, re-work and thicken any lines which need making bolder.

Have you considered having the tattoos covered up with new work? If the tattoos're older, they should be easier to cover somehow :)

  3. Well I see he has done a very flimsy comparison of goods on RG, it's interesting to see that he has put my Pegase against a genuine LV he has...I mean they are two different cases.

    Ken

Some people just aren't safe to be out by themselves...

  4. Edit; Yes TJ he received one Zippy monogram and one mens Azure wallet...should point out here that (1) We do not have a Zippy Azure, which I have told him on number of occasions (2)He also expected a Zippy Azure replacement without returning the mans wallet.

Absolutely crazy... I hope the example I gave before made sense? I know sometimes things can get 'lost in translation', but that really did read like an order for two individual products to me, and to then want a replacement plus the original item? Someone's been wiping this guy's backside for him for way too long for him to think he can get away with demands like that... Hope you manage to get everything sorted, amigo :drinks:

  5. that it is! That was the first one I ever made. The next one I do will definitely be tighter braids.

Awesome, what knotting did you use? I used cobra weave for mine, over four internal strands, with a knot called a 'false Turks head' as the finishing/join, and it works out at 10ft of cord :)

  6. I'm not going to lay into you because Ken and I are friends, I'm just going to give you my 100% honest unbiassed .2c on what you've posted :)

    I ordered like this:

"- Wallet Zippy Monogramm & Damier Azure"

It was one Zippy Monogram in the package, wich was right, and one wallet model in Damier Azur for 75.-$ wich in reality not even exists.

I have to admit, if I received that as an order, I would think you were talking about two seperate items, not describing a color/style variation. To use the watch example which brings us all here, if I saw someone asking for "Rolex Submariner & LV", I would think they meant a Sub and an LV Sub, not an LV Sub...

As for your points about the quality of the merch... :pardon:

I've seen worse quality goods on sale in shops at full price, I'd suggest remembering what kind of goods you are buying, and being a bit more reasonable in your expectations as to what you will receive... I hope everything can be resolved to everyone's satisfaction :drinks:

  7. Awesome refrence to DTD,love that movie. :thumbsupsmileyanim: Indeed the tribal on Cloony Is the look that Im after :drinks:

    :thumbsupsmileyanim: :thumbsupsmileyanim:

It was watching that movie which made me first want to get a tattoo  Till I was a bout 22, I was sure I'd never get a tattoo :whistling: If that's the kind of thing you're after, just print out the stills, take them to the guy, and say you want something like it (or an exact copy) and go from there :) You'll probably be looking at several sittings of several hours ;)

  8. I have never had a tattoo. A good friend had a tribal tat done about three months ago,I have to addmit I really like It. Im going to visit the artist that did his and do some follow up research. Keep up the good work T,:)

Thanks, bro, that's the plan :drinks: Definitely the best way to go with regards your friend's artist, and the one thing I would say with regards the design, is to make it significant to you, that way, it'll always be meaningful :) You might want to consider having a look for pictures of the tattoo Clooney had on his arm at the end of From Dusk Till Dawn, it's pretty much exactly what you've described :)

  9. Hey T,Im thinking about getting a tribal, say from shoulder to mid forearm. I have also been looking at some of these. Any suggestiong would be appreciated :drinks: Mike....PS.. Im leaning towards the Lizardman look

If that's the look you're going for, to each his own  As for suggestions... A piece like that really needs to be freehanded onto the body so the tribal lines follow the contours of the muscles properly :)

  10. That DAD key, and the the dragon that looks like a skinned pit bull with crabs legs. Keep practising like every body else says in your other thread.

I clearly stated that the Dad key was done by another artist, so I couldn't really care what folks think of that, but for the record, it was done by someone while they were apprenticing. People who aren't into tattoos often fail to understand that it is not always the quality of the artwork which makes it significant to a person, but the content of the tattoo, and the person who did it. I'd rather (as would many serious tattoo collectors) get a meaningful tattoo from a friend, even if it was poorly executed, than a clinically perfect tattoo from an artist who was a snobby douche. However...I did clearly state that my dragon needs a lot more work before it will be finished. What you're looking at, is nothing more than an initial outline, and the clarity is not assisted by the fact the pic was taken using an effect on an iCamera.

Im not really a tattoo lover

    To each his own...

  11. Translation according to Google Translate:

Customs and the Post Office seized in July, some 1,500 counterfeit items mainly from China as part of an operation in central customs postal sorting Chilly-Mazarin (Essonne). For five days last month, customs officers and postal workers have controlled the entire 1600 package arrived at the center of international trade Chilly-Mazarin from seven countries targeted for the occasion, said in a statement.

The center treats a total of 12,000 parcels per day, 5000 on imports.

On all these packages, 4% contained counterfeit products and 1500 items were seized. These were mainly textiles, toys, telephone, or costume jewelry. These goods were almost all from China and Hong Kong.

Main source of counterfeit products entering Europe, China rise in 2010 and provided 85% of the products seized at EU borders, revealed in mid-July the European Commission in a report on customs operations.

Customs and La Poste are that "the explosion of e-business, 300 million packages were shipped to France every year" and that "this activity is growing + + impacted by fraud, including counterfeiting."

During the operation in Chilly-Mazarin, 65 kg of tobacco and drugs were also intercepted.

French Customs has "found in 2010 19 500 fraud on the postal carrier and has seized nearly a million counterfeit items, 36 tonnes of tobacco and 1.87 tons of drugs," says the statement.
