Incidentally I had the exact same issue with my PO. The clasp just kept on opening on its own at the beginning but then stopped after a while and now it completely fine.
Sorry to hear about the problems you had with your PO and table for the heads-up. I'm looking to franken my PO and will take heed of your warnings.
