  1. Charlie Manson is unavailable, And it's too late for Pol Pot.... Gosh, what's a university president to do?
  2. And who are we to judge him? It's not as if our society isn't based on violence and repression as well... (Warning - no kidding this time: extremely violent scenes at the end. These images will haunt you for the rest of your days. http://video.yahoo.com/video/play?vid=1075...mp;fr=yfp-t-501
  3. Well, it is true that the man has a message:
  4. Umm...err..... As a liberal Love-Child of the 60s who's now a born-again Conservative, I don't quite know what to think of this: Well, actually, I do. I believe it's called a target-rich environment.
  5. What's that line that only old-timers like us can (sometimes) remember, Omni? "It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing" It sure swings for me...
  6. The boys from Gdansk getting it on... Is that a bit of Tuvan throat-singing I hear as well? Don't try this at home: I like it.
  7. Confucious say: Consider the source.
  8. You're doubtlessly referring to Nanuq's failed Eagle Scout friend.... That crazy mofo is always around flogging his Wrist Wrap Watches All you have to do is turn on your fax machine and whistle....
  9. WHO YO' DADDY?!?
  10. You think too much, Miss Barrett. We're watching you.
  11. I'd miss those "I'm a stay at home mom: let me show you how I make thousands" ads too much....
  12. Nanuq's forays into RWG1 avatar nostalgia* prompts me to post this one: nothing special, I suppose, but for reasons I've never quite understood, it haunts me to this day. I once very politely messaged it's owner explaining my fascination with the image and asking who the person was - the story, if you will - and never received an answer. The member in question, "Roomate", seemed to be a semi-lurker: I'd see his nic show up in threads, but it was fairly rare when he posted. And as Forrest Gump used to say, "That's all I have to say about that." *For those who interested in excursions down Memory Lane, clicking on the old RWG membership list turns up dozens of old avatars that progressively burned themselves into our subconscient memories before fading out of sight - and out of mind.
  13. Thanks ever so much, Vicky: you have become a veritable fountain of knowledge concerning the special universe of straps. One can literally feel your brain constantly classifying, sorting, memorizing and evaluating data - it's quite impressive. The Waccex buckles are very handsome and just what I'm looking for....
  14. My feelings exactly. Does anyone know offhand where to source these buckles (screw-in) for a 26x26mm strap?
  15. A woman on another (not a rep watch) forum mentioned that she had met him socially - and that "there was something about the man which totally creeped (her) out." I can believe it. Nice story about your Mom as well: it would appear that brains and good looks runs in the family....
  16. Chill people, chill.... - This Merssage Brought To You By Your Friendly Neighborhood Golem.
  17. Play nice, kids: it's just the Internet - These ad hominiculus attacks ain't doing nobody no good....
  18. Found by co-incidence, very long read, no comment:* http://pajamasmedia.com/2007/09/paris_ligh..._heroes_dea.php *Other than the fact that at the end of her piece, she too fixates only on Channel 3 - no mention of the real Carnival of the Insanities that was going on at the other channels I mentioned - and documented - above. So far, everyone seems to have mistaken the forest for just one tree....
  19. So don't sweat it.
  20. Wow.....R.D. Laing! The dark hero of my college years....
  21. The editior (Judith Regan) was actually fired by the publishing house: http://www.nytimes.com/2006/12/16/business...nyt&emc=rss Which is neither here nor there and proves nothing (I guess), but it does break the stalemate and gives a new spin to this thread.... Now just don't get me started on all the idiots in the EU (the media and the usual talking heads, ok, Pug? Not the good people of Europe, obviously - who predictably are only too happy to agree) blaming the U.S. for the potential meltdown of their banking and investment sectors. Three full hours of this horsepoo on Arte tonight, plus all the Chicken Littles clucking away that "it's all the fault of the United States" on the evening news op/eds.... Like we twisted their arms to invest in the sub-prime mortgage market....
  22. That's ok - happens all the time.
  23. Ya wan fries with dat?
  24. Dun be a Pug, Nanuq My calculation of seven hours R/T was in response to Chris' 2.5 hour car commute - which on a bike, would easily take seven hours - even for a Stakhanovian such as yourself.
