Is it the comedy hour on RWG?
-
Good news, Usil - see you there at 2pm. Hope Pug and the others can make it - I wonder if he's stopped talking to me over the Muppet Strap comments?
-
So is we is or is we aint doing it tomorrow? Pug, Usil et.al.? Sticky balls and Muppet straps and the whole show..... Btw: can (or would) one of you guys sell me a single Cape Cod Cloth if you happen to have one? I'll even take half of one....or a third :-) (Have a plexi scratch which it should be able to buff out)

Actually, I meant GoogleEarth. I guess I'm a bit lost....need a Google Map....

Can this thread be seen on Google Maps yet?

Sounds just fine to me, Usil.....

Like you say. Plus the WM and Davidsen vintages and the occasional special build with an Angelus or Cortebert movement. Come to think of it, I also saw a Fiddy on Usil's wrist that looked pretty darn sensational...

The two Chinese businessmen were not trying to take money out of the country, they were just travelling through France with 'too many' American dollars! As I remember, it was around forty thousand. An easy touch for the customs guys..... As for your condo, sounds like very bad management. Paris is funny like that - the building next door (particularly in that neighborhood) might have million-dollar apartments - with owners to match - and then you get a 'bad tooth' kind of building right next to it. Go figure. But given the market here, I can't imagine you took a loss on it: a 25-metre studio on that block would easily sell for 150,000 euros; with anything larger, the sky's the limit....

Lots of spot checks, confiscations and fines for rep handbags from Italy at the border with France, and that's about it. Other stories from time to time about travellers - even in transit - getting nailed at the airport - usually for fake bags or Lacoste shirts, etc. The customs agents are trained to sniff them out. At the same time, the atmosphere 'on the street' is quite relaxed. I can even service my reps at the stand - manned by two friendly and very qualified guys - of a large French department store with no problem and no eyebrows raised. The only problem is somehow falling into the hands of the customs agents whose job it is to enforce the legislation: the laws concerning reps of all sorts (especially the luxury French brands) are real killers, and you don't want to run afoul of them: they make the lawyers and suits from Richmont team look like Mother Teresa. In a related category, last year the press ran a story about two unfortunate Chinese businessmen who were 'controlled' on a French train with a sizeable wad of dollars. Naturally, there was some obscure French law concernng the amount of cash that can be transported by foreigners.....the poor guys had a huge amount of money confiscated and had to pay a fine on top of it all. And the government wonders why people don't like to do business here - or why there has been 0 economic growth this quarter..... ......A condo on the rue Mazarine! It's a seller's market here, but it's a pity you didn't hang onto it - or at least rent it out: it's a great neighborhood and in great demand..... @Usil & Pug et.al.: either day is fine for me!

Now that it's gone I'm actually starting to miss it....

Not a word added to this thread for several days.... I think we can safely say that this sucker is finally dead.

Usil's sticky balls! The waiters at the Select are never going to forget this GTG..... :-) I'll risk it.....I've got the 2533 about which I was drooling all over the forum a while back..... It's ok - just fine, really, but not as spec-tac-u-lar as some of the more mechanically sophisticated pieces with all their bells and whistles - which is exactly why I love this watch. If this GTG were in mid-December I could also show you a Mario Paci vintage masterpiece that a friend from the States is bringing over for me.... But it's not so much 'Show & Tell' as the pleasure of meeting up with you guys over a few beers and catching up with each other's lives. So yes, I'm available whenever we have a quorum of two or three (or more, if Fast can finally make it).
-
That's true....I haven't thought about it all all.... Thanks for reminding me!
-
What did I say? The waiters were right.

Well Ethel me Merman, Puggy! I'm up for it...... sometime before everyone disappears for Xmas. Even have a new ticker to show around!
-
And this from a guy who thinks nothing of wearing a Pannie with a 'MUPPET' watch-strap.... :-) :-) :-) :-) The waiters at the Café Select are still asking me when 'ze next meeting of ze Gay Replica Watch Club' is going to take place..... (Man, you guys are all getting as serious as Popes.... It's called 'a joke'!)

Nothing negative intended to our friends of other sexual persuasions, but why am I getting the persistant feeling that this thread is.....gay?

Without entering into the who's who (trader) debate, and for anything EXCEPT Hermes bags, allow me to call your attention to Sash - an authorized RWG trader with a keen eye for value and quality - and Ken, equally reputed and who deals more informally through personal contact via the forum. Both have an excellent selection of various marques, and Ken has had some excellent feedback. As for Jaymoi, he's been diligently researching the question for quite some time now, and has had some very satisfied customers. If his new source is as good as he says, it would be great to see his stuff advertised here. Whether or not he feels that it's worth the investment is up to him of course..... There is also Ruby on RWI who has made her customers happy with her offerings. In all, I've never seen any negative feedback concerning any of the above. Although several are working on it, none of above seem to be able to source the Hermes rep bags at the present time. :-(

With pleasure! How about Hermes...?

Love your fashion sense, C-Stone! -
Please keep in mind that I'm neither a replica handbag specialist nor a reseller nor in anyway connected with the business. All I'm personally interested in are replica Hermes bags, and am passing along sources as I find them. Hence my contribution to this thread. If you've questions related to anything but querying me for the Korean contact I've found, please understand that you should be asking someone else.....somewhere else. In a word, it ain't me, babe.

I've got a contact in Korea who's representing what he claims to be the best factory for rep Hermes, Vuitton, Gucci, etc. handbags, wallets and leather articles. I've corresponded with him, and have learned that he's a Canadian expat who's been doing this for several years. He seems to be on the level, can communicate clearly in English and is willing to answer questions and otherwise reassure buyers interested in a specific article. The link to the company website offers examples, prices and basic info. Noteworthy is the fact that they offer payment by credit card (as well as other means), a money-back guarantee and shipping (with tracking included in the purchase price. The pics on the site are a bit summary, but the guy in question will supply more detailed info and pics. The prices check out for Korean manufactured bags - which are slightly higher than the Chinese reps. At the highest end, Hermes bags in crocodile leather are in the $1,200 price range, which also checks out relative to prices I've been quoted by Francis Tse. The cheaper 'embossed' croco leather bags are described as such - which is a good sign. Is the guy on the level? I can't say, but I can say that if people here are interested, they can correspond with him themselves and make their own judgements. Posting what you've found out onto this thread would be beneficial to all of us. In the meantime, here are some excerpts from his last message to me: "....Francis Tse, yes I guess he is a bit legendary isn't he..lol He is a very well networked guy in China and in addition has his factory which makes some of the very best available bags. I occasionally do some business with him. As for Korean replicas... Being here in the business for the past five years has let me see many changes in the business. I've been working with the factory who is making the only birkin in Korea worth seeing. I have gone through piles of samples from other factories with only one other who came up with a close comparison however they were unable to put the system into place where they could supply variety and quality at the same time. Leaving one factory and today there is still only one. The replica business here is under an immense amount of pressure from the government to shut down. The government has been going on a rampage for the past two years escalating the intensity of it this year. They've closed down over 3200 outlets and and some of that number is are factories In fact the factory and I have been exploring the idea of moving the factory to China to alleviate some of this pressure here from the begining of the year. It is currently is a trial period now, two of the memebers from the factory and the owner brother in law are there with a small operation. I have a pretty simple policy on the delivery and satisfaction. Like FT I guarantee the delivery of the bags. With a no quibble return policy. As I am sure you know one could talk until blue in the face but can't convince another of the qulaity because of the nature of the business is a but grey and not to mention it is littered with fly by night scammers. Basically if you don;t like it send it back for a refund. I have that policy because I feel pretty good about quality and detail of what and who I deal with. I'll attach some of pictures that I have I also have some recently updated pictures of some other bags with some better stamps and the gold hardware is much cleaner now.. You'll notice some of the updated points from the camel/gold/tan whatever to the orange matt croc...". Since I'm a nasty bastard at heart, contact info will ony be provided to supporting RWG forum members (plus some special 'RWG Good-Guy' exceptions to the rule) via PM. Lastly, I sincerely hope that our rep watch dealer Sash comes through on his desire to source the highest-quality rep handbags (he's already posted a few here, but no Hermes as yet). As well as being having trusted dealer status, having two sources to compare would be a good thing for those interested in the question.
