Yeah my Bond came from a great guy who sadly doesn’t spend much time here.

@NaviChief that’s lovely. I have a closed factory case from the 40th anniversary Bond that has been built into a ProPlan - hybrid Seamaster Pro case with PO bezel and second hand. Fantastic quality cases that are so close to Gen. I also have franken 2531.80 that I want to mid further. The HEV position isn’t too bad but it still bugs me so I may have the HEV removed and the hole welded up and the re-drilled in the correct position.
What caseback do you have on your 40th? -
Vintage Speedmaster for me. Something like an Ed White, or any Speedy with straight lugs.

Oh no I’ve hurt his feelings. He’s calling me stupid for wasting his time asking for more photos. lol

I’m just playing with him now guys. He’ll accept PayPal too..... if I fund it from a credit card I shouldn’t have any issues ....... but if it seems to cheap then it inevitably is! I’m not paying but you see how some people get suckered in.

I’ll do just that. Maybe it’ll scare him off but let’s see.

I have a want to buy posted and was contacted by a new member. He advised that his friend is selling what I’m looking for. Seems a scam, but let’s play along. I asked for a tagged photo and received this. I’m using my phone and I’m not 100% convinced. Does this seem photoshopped? Clearly the price is too cheap for a gen but .......

Post a couple of photos please. I’ve always been a sucker for frankens of Seamasters.

How about this one? A closed factory case with a gen 2230 (non -AC dial) and a PO bezel and insert. Built by @SSTEEL

Send a photo to the TD’s and see what they have to say about it’s availability.

That one has a closed case back so if it’s an ETA clone it ‘should’ be good to go. If you buy it then you either just wear it until there’s a problem with the movement and then get it serviced (that’s what I do) Or send it to a watchsmith for a service when you buy it so it prolongs it’s life.

All reps will have flaws. It’s best to research yourself as only you can decide which flaws you can live with and which you cannot.

Look through the trusted dealer section of the forum and you’ll find several dealers who can source great reps. Welcome by the way.

Glad to hear that Mike.

I agree with everything that @Sogeha says. You will have to get to know people with contacts over many years, building relationships and trust. It won’t happen overnight or even over months. I would, if I were you, move on to something else to make money or just engage with the community here and enjoy it as a hobby.

Not the best news with Corona virus but here’s an opportunity for people to make the most of the situation with a great member and vendor. Keep safe Mike.
