  1. ...is the pearl on vintage SD/Sub always with white gold surrounding? I mean, MBK/MBW pearls are made without any surrounding, which in my opinion is absolutely incorrect, but I was wondering if, in any period, Rolex did release such kind of pearls. Thanks in advance.
  2. Ubi, tell me you're going to sell that DJ...Tell me, tell me....
  3. +1 ...how I wish, how I wish I were there, you're just a bunch of souls exchanging and selling watches, year after year... (very free adaption of a somewhat obscure, unknown song of a very obscure, unknown English rock band...
  4. Something truly unique... Congrats Ubi and Lanikai!!
  5. What a beauty!!! In case you decide to part with it, JoJo, just let me know!
  6. Hi mates, some time ago I was talking with Stephane, who's quite accomplished in organizing this kind of event , and we planned a tentative GTG in Rome. I think that, as the season is going more and more lovely on the weather side, it would be good to make it on June or (maybe better) September. I'd like to know how many of us would be there! Let me know Paolo
  7. Benvenuto tra noi poveri tossicomani! Sono anch'io a Roma, quindi ora non sono pi
  8. Well, as an owner of gen and rep Rolexes, I can assure you that EVEN two gens of the same model and period sometimes hugely differ. This is due to the fact that Rolex S.A. uses more than one producer for spare parts. It's this kind of thing that causes phenomenons like the flat S on the word "Submariner", or the so called "spider" dials, or the infamous cream dial on 16550 Explorer II, and on and on...
  9. This is going to be something unique and marvelous ! Good luck TMG
  10. ...And finally I've seen it in the flesh. Well, guys, all I can tell you is that it's PERFECT. No one, and I mean even the most accomplished Rolex conoisseur, can call this a rep, if he doesn't open it an see the movement. Awesome, believe me!!!
  11. As far as I know, the rep is quite good, but the problem is that even the gen is not selling at all, according to Rolex ADs, because the watch seems so "unbalanced": it has a very big bezel that, accoording to some of them, completely ruins the whole design of the watch. I have a 36 mm rep that, apart from the dots problem (on the crown), is perfect. I strongly advice to stick to it ! Just my 2 bucks
  12. I only can say I'd buy it in a minute !
  13. ...and it seems I'll be the first to see it in the flesh ! Lucky me (but Steph is luckier than me, for sure!)
  14. Absolutely agree with you, Noel. I have a TT Daytona and a TT GMT, both 14k, and after two years they're still perfect. Then I have a DJ 18kt, and after six months the bracelet alreay had begun to show signs of wear, and there's nothing you can do to repaint it (at least, this is what my watchsmith told me)
  15. I had a smooth and pleasant transaction with this great guy, and all I can say is that he is a professional and a friend. Thank you, Spin!

  16. My deepest condolences to you, Rob, and all the families who have to suffer such a tragic loss. God bless them all
  17. I want to tell this in public: Stephane is one of the most fair guys I've ever known. Period. Good luck for everything, mate!
  18. Great job Steph, if you ever will decide to sell it, just make a whistle!!! I hope it will go better than our last deal...
