  1. I too went with the SOSF, one of my favorites. Now that I think about it, I say that a lot about all my watches
  2. So true. Unlike some of the other horror stories we've seen, this one seems to have tome to a more timely and positive close WR
  3. Man that is BEAUTIFUL! Want! WR
  4. From my naked optimistic eye, it looks flawless. feels very smooth and even the links are covered all the way around. The watch wears smaller that i thought it would, but i'm still in love with it. The clasp is a bit stiff, but i'm sure it'll loosen up over time. It has some of the new bracelet squeaks when you move the links around, so i might give it an oil bath at some point. So far it's keeping awesome time, so we'll see how it goes. I got some pre-ship pics from puretime, and the device (whatever it's called) showed the watch running at 28,800. All in all i couldn't be happier. WR
  5. That is a thought that has run round and round my little brain every time we've seen the start of a forum train wreck when it comes to modders/smiths walking away with watches and or money. Given the technology available to us today, and all the ways one can access the web, there is no acceptable reason why people can't communicate their situation. Even the simplest post of "Uh oh, the SHTF, more details later" would give at least some kinds of heads up. *Shakes head* I just don't get it. WR
  6. Literally, I just opened the package, sized it down 2 links, and had to snap some pics. I've wanted a daytona for a long time, and just decided on a whim to pull the trigger and get one of the Pro-Hunter versions. They are supposed to have the newish movement that makes it more stable...time will tell. Forgive the quality, I snapped them real quick with my cell phone while sitting at my desk. Enjoy!
  7. Today is my Ulysse Nardin - one of my all time favorites. Gets a lot of wrist time.
  8. Thank you! I'm trying to be careful and not give it all my wrist time
  9. Thanks, I wasn't sure if it was just me, but it sure seems to have a different look than the reps, especially the dots and the lume.
  10. Let's give this a whirl... http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/12/wristx.jpg/] http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/812/dialbig.jpg/]
  11. hmm, i'm trying but it's giving me problem. Stay tuned...
  12. So I finally went and done it. I decided to pick up a watch that I've been lusting after for many many years. A coupe of weeks ago, my wife and I were on vacation, and I decided to splurge and treat myself to a black seamaster! I know on the scale of luxery watches, it's not the most impressive piece out there, but damn am I in love. I was worried that getting a watch that I've wanted for so many years couldn't possibly live up to my expectations, but I am happier than I could have imagined. Now, on to the pics! WR
  13. Many moons ago when I decided to pull the trigger on my first rep, I made a bit of a mistake. I always wanted a SMP with a blue dial, and there were several models to choose from. I wish I knew then what I know now...don't we all? I looked at one of the dealer websites, and they were advertising the "new red version". I took that to mean that it was going to be the best of the best, newest and shiniest thing out there. Little did I know it was one of the least accurate dials done for the SMP to date. I still wore it and enjoyed the look of the watch, but it always bugged me that the printing on the face was so inaccurate. I took the watch out of the winder the other day and wore it to work. I glanced down at one point, and one of the hour indicators came off. I know I can probably get it reattached from one of the modders here, but I'm thinking this is a grand opportunity to swap out the dial for something closer to gen. Is there anyone out there that has an extra dial I could buy off them? I don't even know how the spacing is on this watch, and if a gem dial will work. Just thought I'd give a shout out and see if anyone can assist. Thanks! WR
  14. Awesome, thanks for the fast reply! WR
  15. Hey guys, I'm about to pull the trigger on a panerai 251, and I was hoping to time getting a new strap delivered by the time the watch arrives. I'm assuming it's a 24mm strap, but can anyone out there confirm this? Thanks! WR
  16. Thanks for the replies guys. It doesn't appear the watch works at all anymore, so i haven't even thought about wearing it. I'll see if I can open the case back and take a quick peak. WR
  17. A few months ago, I let a close friend of mine borrow my Hublot Big Bang to wear for a little while. He's always admired the watch, and thought I'd do something nice for him. When I got the watch back, I noticed it sounded a little funny when I moved the watch. The normal whurring sound of the rotor spinning and the watch winding was gone, and it was more of a *clank* sound coming from the movement. I looked at the movement through the case back, and the rotor doesn't want to spin at all. When you do get it to move, and sounds terrible, like something is loose or broken inside. At this point i'm guessing my options are to A. get a new big bang and call this one a wash. B. see about getting this one serviced and see if it can be repaired. C. replace the movement using another asian 7750. Any suggestions on what may be wrong, or if I should even try to fix it? thanks! WR
  18. Actually I was just testing it to see if it would even open, so then i could crap is shut! I was just reading up on how to waterproof it, and I wonder if it was epoxied shut. I'm curious to waterproof it and see what it says... WR
  19. My wife got me a beautiful PO for my birthday, and i'm really enjoying it. I was wondering if the HE valve [censored] is supposed to turn on these models. I have a SMP, and you can open and close it by turning the know and unscrewwing it. Does it work the same way on this one? It's EXTREMELY hard to turn if it's supposed to. I'm not taking any tools to it to force it, but i'm curious if it's stuck or meant to be that way. Thanks! WR
  20. +me too on the whole panerai thing. When I first hopped on the boards, I thought they were the ugliest thing I'd ever seen. I couldn't understand the fascination with them. The more I looked at them, the more they grew on me. I fought it as long as i could, then finally broke down and got a 111. Then I started collecting straps. And so it began... WR
