IWC on crock strap today WR
-
I was sitting here going through my email, and I decided to check my spam folder to see if there was anything interesting, or any email that needed to be rescued before I cleared the folder. There was an email in there that caught my attention. It said: "AAA+ quality replica watches..." I sat there for a second, and I found a smile upon my face. I thought back to the days when I had no clue about replica watches, except that I wanted one. I thought back to the hours I spent scouring the web looking for replica watches and any resource I could find. I remember almost pulling the trigger on a few occasions, but decided at the last moment to hold off. I remember finding the fake review sites that pointed you to other scam sites, hoping to reel you in. I remember the feeling of how badly I wanted my first replica watch, a blue Omega seamaster. It was by sheer happenstance that I found the forums, a post that was linked warning about scam sites. I remember thinking that it couldn't be real, a community devoted to the hobby of replica watches!?!? Seriously? After the giddiness settled down, I became a sponge soaking up all the information i possibly could. I remember finding the dealer section and browsing all the available replicas out there. My world suddenly went from the bleak reality that I wouldn't be able to find a replica without the possibility of being scammed, to a bright and beautiful world filled with possibilities. I felt so out of my element when I looked at all the posts and people were throwing out acronyms left and right. What did all this mean? How can I fit in? Then there was all the information on movements, chronographs, do's and don

Went with my Hublot SS today. I'm trying to make sure it still gets wrist time. It was my favorite watch for a long time, but it has some competition these days.

I when with the UN as well...

Today is my blue SOSF that I put on a shark skin strap. I love the feel of the strap, though i wish it didn't taper so much towards the buckle. Enjoy! WR

What an amazing thing to do, well done Ubi! So....did you ever get the screw??? WR
-
Well, you WERE my inspiration in putting a strap on this bad boy. I went with black instead of brown, just because i thought it made the dial pop more. Such a beautiful watch, it's one of my all time faves in my collection. WR

Today is my IWC spitfire. I put a black croc strap on instead of the bracelet that came with it. I think it gives it a more elegant look to the watch. Enjoy!

newbie question: how to set my SuperOcean?
wraithride replied to DrXenon's topic in The Breitling Area
hehe, I was wondering what word was getting censored. Interesting choice WR -
another thought, i would love to contribute to the photography area of the forum, and I keep meaning to....BUT...i'm lazy . It takes time set aside to shoot pics, touch them up, resize them, delete them and start over, shoot some more, then finally post them. I think it's the search for perfection that puts me off. I need to just start posting pics knowing they won't look anything like pugs, or By-Tor's. Just another thing that adds up. Hey look! I just hit over 100 on my post count! WR

Seeing things like this REALLY makes me want to get a macro lens... WR

What is it you like most about the whole rep thing?
wraithride replied to mtv2009's topic in General Discussion
I love the idea of having a watch that is exactly like a genuine that I have admired, and I'm able to own a rep of it. I enjoy the process and the anticipation of ordering a new rep. Like having christmas morning happening many times a year. That eager wait of watching your tracking number, and then the hassle with the post office to get it in your hands. It's always a worthwhile wait when you strap it on, and admire your wrist. I also like the process of picking out which one you want. They are not as expensive as the real thing, but it's not cheap enough to just say "i'll take those 8 and I'm good for a while.". You really have to choose, and figure out what you want most. Overall, it's just a fun hobby. The other neat part is that as rep owners, we are so much more into timepieces than your typical gen owner. We know what's inside them, what kind of movements, and even some basic repair information. Even if we're not going to attempt it ourselves, we have some idea what's going on, other than "a watch is something that sits on your wrist and tells time.". WR -
As I stated in another thread, I've definitely noticed a drop in new posts lately. By lately, it's been since the upgrade. I know that when the upgrade first came out, i felt very disoriented, and things just didn't feel like they used to. The other forum felt comfy, like home. With the change, it just didn't have the same feel to it, and I noticed almost immediately that the number of posts went down. I assumed it was due to the first challenges of getting things up and running, followed by people just needing to get used to the place. I've been waiting for people to return and for posts to increase, thinking "today will be the day". It does indeed feel like there are less newb questions in the general discussion area. It seems that some of the threads that would generate the most replies and that real forum family closeness, were responses to people who were very new, and had the typical questions about "who has the best" "how do you know who to buy from" "what should I expect with customs" "what is an A7750?" etc. Those used to hit multiple pages in a heartbeat, and you saw genuine enthusiasm from our members supporting the newcomers. Maybe we're a victim of our own success? Have we created so many how-to guides, and made the information so accessible that people find it without asking the old time questions? I always enjoyed when veterans would take the time to answer questions of newbies, even when they have been asked hundreds of times before - not just the default "learn how to search.". I can tell you the posts i look forward to the most are when members are getting a new watch, discuss why they picked it out, and the eventual review. I love reading watch reviews and getting opinions on how people think they measure up. Regardless if it's a new sub, PO, pam, or the new UN, it's always great to see the excitement when people get a new watch and start talking about it. Maybe we're buying less due to various reasons. Perhaps we could start some kind of, for lack of a better word, contest. Like a newb questions of the week. Encourage new members to ask questions, and those that generae responses or ask a good question, get something - no idea what though... Anyway, just my $.02US WR

I've noticed that there seems to be less board activity overall lately. I used to log in first thing in the morning, and there were a ton of pasts marked from that day, or the previous evening. Seems like things are slowing down. Most posts when I hop on first thing, are from the previous day. Maybe i'm just nuts... WR

I'm anxious to hear your thoughts. I'm just about to pull the trigger on one of these myself, so I want to hear about those issues . WR

Um, dude, this is what I'm referring to: http://www.rwgforum.com/index.php?app=links&module=links§ion=categories&do=view&cid=3 I know about the collectors section, which contains feedback, and announcements. The links section actually had the trusted dealers and a direct link to all their websites. WR
-
Since the forum upgrade, I've been waiting for the dealers websites section to get populated with everyone's favorite trusted dealers. It's still empty, and I've got some shopping to do people. Lets get that section populated! Honestly, I guess I should have been smarter and bookmarked the dealers I like to use...oops. WR
-
I posted about this as well. Admin responded saying the link will be up a later on. WR
-
As the man says, I'm looking for the site links, not their announcements and stuff.
-
Hey guys, fantastic upgrade, i can't imagine all the hard work went into this. One question I have is, where might I find the links section that had the dealers info including their websites? I always went back to that section when I wanted to browse pricing, i never bothered to copy the links locally . WR

Twice the distance from the center to either end! WR

Is the 3717-02 Spitfire Chronograph underappreciated?
wraithride replied to Roma Leo's topic in The IWC Area
I hadn't heard much about this watch on the forums, but I quickly fell in love with it after I saw Toad's review. I'm wearing my right now in fact, and I love the cleanliness of the dial, and the mix of sporty and class. GREAT watch! WR -
Damn you Zig! I've been on the fence for a while now, trying to decide between a couple of watches that will be my next purchase. I knew that when I eventually get the AT, I'd want the nice bumpy blue lume form you. That pic you posted is beautiful, and pretty much made up my mind on my next purchase. And now I'll go buy the watch, and then sit for months on your waiting list As always, you do perfect work! WR
