Guy agrees to sell me watch, backs out as I'm driving to pick it up
KB replied to wj94's topic in General Discussion
I would be inclined to agree with Corgi except first I would examine the watch to make sure it is all he says it is, then offer your agreed amount and do the walk if he says no. Ken -

Just two quick points... 1) I would advise you to take another look at the Canadian laws regarding reps because I assure you it is nowhere near as straightforward as you believe. 2) Whatever else Andrew may be he is one of the best in replacing lost or undelivered items, it may simply be that he has given you a stock answer until he knows more himself. A man is walking through the zoo when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion's cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the cuff of her jacket and tries to pull her inside to devour her right in front the little girl's screaming parents. The man runs to the cage, hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch. Whimpering from the pain, the lion jumps back letting go of the girl, and the man returns her to her terrified parents. A reporter has seen the whole scene and says to the rescuer:"Sir, this was the most gallant and brave thing I saw a man do in my whole life." "Why, it was nothing," said the man. "Really, the lion was behind bars and I knew God would protect me just as He did Daniel in the lions den long, long ago. I just saw this little kid in danger, and acted as I felt was right." "I noticed a bible in your pocket, are you a Republican," asked the journalist. "Yes, and I'm a Christian on my way to a bible study," the man replies. "Well, I'll make sure this won't go unnoticed... I'm a journalist and tomorrow's paper will have this on the front page." The journalist leaves. The following morning the man buys the paper to see if it indeed brings news of his actions, and reads, on first page: "Right Wing Republican Christian Fundamentalist Assaults African Immigrant and Steals His lunch." I have to say you seem to be throwing in the towel on this watch a little to easy, buying reps can be a rocky old road if you don't like the bumps you need to get back on the highway and stick to gens. I'm sorry if that sounds a little harsh but you have been advised here by a few members to keep the lines of communication open with Andrew and yet I see you started another thread asking for those dealers that don't drop ship, well sorry but their watches are just as illegal as the drop shippers and you still need to worry about customs. Quite simply my avatar is the first rep watch I purchased, it also serves as a reminder of D.L.Gates the man who took me under his wing when I first came to these boards and of course the man I bought this watch from. Ken

The policeman's lot is not a happy one... Ken

The watch is beautiful but I take exception to the "nobody else had them" remark about the Burberry. Sometimes all you have to do is ask. Ken

Actually LR despite what you say I have quite enjoyed all of your 1000 posts. Congrats Ken

All the best for your 2nd anniversary Andy. I'll bet no one can find my first post here. Ken

Don't believe that for a second, the dealers are getting big margins from this watch. Ken

Mezz I tend to believe it more a case of greater access to the internet that is educating people on the quality of reps. It used to be a wide spread belief that rep Rolex had plastic parts and quartz motors but as people search around the Net they are coming across better and better reproductions, whether that is on eBay/ iOffer/ Cqout or one of our boards the general public are learning to search for what they want before they buy. I don't think it's a stretch to believe we are an important part of the dealers client base, but yes they will always deny this as knowledge is power, but ask yourself why they are always extremely careful to keep us in the loop when they change URL and the such....ask in fact why they even bother dealing with us if we are such a small part of their business. Exactly! The average wage for an office worker in Gaungzhou is only about $200 USD a Month, the HBB's are returning more profit than that per sale!! Ken

My main concern with so called super reps are that many just are not that super. When you take in the cost of manufacturing in China one needs to ask why all super reps are not in fact damn near perfect. Especially those that you pay 700/800/1000 bucks for. Ken

ah my first time..........err piece Like many I found myself at these boards after stumbling through a lot of outside scam sites, almost pulled the trigger a couple of times but there was always that 'Something doesn't feel right' feeling. Anyway as luck would have it before being forced to make a decision I landed on the old RWG site and the rest as they say is history. I guess if one of my friends was to describe me the first thing they would say is "Ken is an avid reader" everyone that knows me would rarely see me without a book or a newspaper in my hands and so was the case when I landed here, my dream watch at the time was a blue face Rolex Sub (never did get around to buying one) but three weeks after arriving I was still reading everything on the site (and occasionally bumping very old threads ) but then a very senior and highly regarded member D.L.Gates held a benefit auction with the proceeds going half to the board and half to his mothers retirement home, so I bid on and won my very first replica watch. And the watch in question? She's sitting there in my avatar. Ken

Am I the only one that prefers the Briet you already have? Ken

@Pix sorry in no way was my comment aimed at you, I think you were quite correct in complaining. I also think your dealer should have replaced or refunded regardless of what the factory said, at the end of the day he was the one who sold it to you. Ken

Hey 21 more posts and this thread will hit 1500 Just remember if you want to be part of the 1500 club you will need your RWG decoder ring Ken PS ryy Victoria is on holidays.

My own supplier states that if a customer need to take a loupe or a measuring tape to their products then they shouldn't be buying replica in the first place. And they have some of the best products made in china. Ken

Indeed if everyone had the same beliefs we would never have to approach the members for funds. A very warm welcome jdm65 Ken
