  1. Nice looking watch. Amazing what a lume job and the raised cannon pin does to these watches. I am waiting on parts to add a thicker crown and raised pin to my 111H and 177H. Anyways...wear it well
  2. Ok guys, here is a quick video tutorial for removing the datewheel on a ETA 2824 movt. I'm not sure but it might work on some other ETA movt's. I want to thank r2d4, cybee, dachshund, and oldecrow for getting me on the right track with this. Here are a couple photos that you should look at before seeing the video, they will help you better understand what we are going to be doing here because the video will not be as clear...take a look: Ok, now onto the video... 3. +1 ... I agree, I'd rather just not have the etch rather than it be soo noticable. Hopefully gen crystals will fit? based on the fact that it has the standard rep bezel mechanism my guess is that it won't fit but I really have no idea...maybe I am just a glass half empty kind of guy
  4. Ok, great. Again, I do thank you very much for your help. That is what I am going to try then. BTW...How much "should" it cost (approx) to fix something like this. Assuming I turn in just the movement itself to a watchmaker?
  5. Thanks again for your input. Ok, so I definetly think this is out of my league. I guess the dial had to come off any way so no harm there really. I think what I will do is just order a new movement (I found a brand new one for $75.00). Any other sources for this movement? Will the dial/hands/datewheel from my current movement transer over to the new movement without any modifications? Thanks again!
  6. I used a wide flat screwdriver so I'm not sure but I don't think I pushed it in too far. I can still push down on the release and the stem will come out. Just once I insert it, it will not go to first or second position.
  7. Thanks for the reply. I had previously removed the movement because when I received the watch there was an hour marker that had fallen off the dial and was floating around in the watch. I successfully removed the movement and re-attached the marker. Then when I put it all back together I inserted the crown/stem very carefully but I guess I must have forced something because now I could only set the date in the innermost position but I could not pop it out to the 1st or second position. I could only unscrew the crown and set the date in the unscrewed position. Based on a little research I figured it was the keyless works. Am I wrong? What else could it be? I am having the same problem with the movement outside of the case too. The crown/stem cannot come out and only the date can be set. Thank You for any further info.
  8. I am working on trying to fix this myself. So far I have pulled the movement out and removed the hands. I will remove the dial next. Can anyone tell me what I need to look for and how to fix the keyless works?? Thanks
  9. Yup, aint that the truth. here is a gen with the "swiss made" just like the rep...
  10. Wow, that really is a beautiful watch. I am dying to get my hands on a tt sub, looks like this is definetly the way to go. Enjoy that monster!!! How long ago did you order it??
  11. Like some of the others requested...Any chance we could see a dead front shot to see the rehaut thickness?
  12. Wow, beautiful watch!! Just curious, why all the requests for lug-holes?...Does the gen have lug-holes?
  13. Thanks for the reply. So the gen 111 H has green ar? I assume they all have ar inside and outside?
  14. I thought I read somewhere that the AR on Pam reps was blue? Do the gen watches have any color to the AR? If so, what color? Do other colors such as green AR exist? Thanks
  15. Nice looking watches. I love the current DJ's...
  16. Thanks very much for that info guys. Guess I will be posting a WTB for a noob datewheel
  17. Bumpity bump... Where can I get a better datewheel for this watch? Would a noob sub datewheel work? Does the date magnification look correct?
  18. Guys, I need to remove the crystal from my Beginmariner that I got from josh because it is crooked. I thought I read somewhere that if you try to remove the Beginmariner bezel assembly that it might get damaged in the process...is that true? If it can be removed will the standard "blade under the bezel" procedure work? Thanks
  19. Is the movt in the TTK noob a copy of the ETA mvt or some other movt? Would you use the crown/stem from the noob in the MBW case or would you use the crown/stem from the MBW? I ask this because I also have a Beginmariner and the asian movt in that is not even close to the eta and the stem is totally different.
  20. Nice writeup I have a "good" beginmariner (LV) that I can post pics of. If anyone wants me to, let me know.
  21. Thanks very much for all the replies guys. Much appreciated. Regarding the trim around the hour markers. They are shiny black on the watch, I know it does not look like that in the pics but they are definetly not silver. Where can I get a better datewheel for this watch? Would a noob sub datewheel work? Does the date magnification look correct? Thanks!
  22. Very interested in how this turns out for you. Keep us posted.
  23. Guys, I bought this Explorer II rep a couple years ago and have not worn it at all..mainly because the dial and bezel are a bit crooked and I always thought the date mag was too small. I know this is incorrect hand stack. Anyway, since I found the rep forums I have learned a bit and I can probably straighten out the dial + bezel, and I think the date is supposed to be smaller than subs anyway...soo I just wanted opinions (good & bad) with regards to this watch. In person it looks great and I have looked at many pics on the forums of other Exp II rep & gen and I think it looks good...looking for some expert opinions. Couple points that I think are good: 1) Rehaut is thick 2) Rehaut looks cylindrical and pretty deep 3) Crown etching on crystal is VERY hard to see ... Thanks in advance for any input...
