  1. yes, i played for the stingrays for five years and was on the 2001 kelly cup championship team. we were treated like gold there. like i said, some of the best years of my life! here are a couple of pics from my playing days in south carolina and las vegas. hence my user name wheaton26 ...
  2. nothing wrong with that ... see ya tomorrow! lol.
  3. no, you're right. then gen doesn't have ar but the glare drove me crazy. same with my dssd, which is why it's off to chief right now. lol.
  4. very nice dave ... and thanks for the comparison pics. i have the 45mm skyland blacksteel and find it wears small because of the color. i've been contemplating upsizing to the 48mm super avenger. please let me know what size wrist you have and how it feels?
  5. i thought it seemed quite around here. what's up lani?
  6. i'm finishing of the week with my gen 091 ...
  7. you're right ronin. the only difference is the thickness of the strap end without the buckle. the deployment straps are very thin towards the end which allows the strap to go through the actual deployment. therefore deployment straps will work with buckles but regular straps will not work with deployment buckles. it shouldn't look much different on your wrist but if you're going to spend the money on a genuine strap, i'd get the proper one. there are many good deals on these but you must have a reputable seller for obvious reason. good luck!
  8. thanks for speaking up mehmetcan ... you've been a member for over a year and this is your first post! what mods you ask? here's a short list ... #1 - full service of the movement by the zigmeister #2 - c1 gloss lume on the dial and hands by the zigmeister #3 - installation of chief ar'd crystal by the zigmeister modifications #2 and #3 have made a huge improvement in the look of the watch and i now have a more reliable movement thanks to modification #1. these movements come over and under oiled from the factory and this can cause serious problems. i hope this helps and we look forward to hearing more from you. all the best!
  9. ya, i'm not sure what's up with that? sometimes i get charged a small fee and other times nothing. who knows?
  10. i'd love to give you some advice dani, but i'm struggling with this one as well. as you may or may not know, i went with the rg rubberclad (see below). i had it serviced and modded to the max and i am absolutely thrilled with the results. my only issue with it is that the gen is $30,000! i feel strange wearing it as an everyday watch. lol. with that being said, i went ahead and ordered the white dialed rubberclad which should arrive next week. i have plans to have this one fully modded as well and am hoping i will like this model as much or even more than the rg. if so, i may let the rg go. it will be a very tough decision as i have a lot of money invested in it. in closing, my preference is the rubberclads ... just which one? for accuracy, i'd have to say the rg is tops with the white and black dialed ones coming in a close second. sorry i couldn't have been more help and good luck with your decision!
  11. interesting read. i think sellita will figure it out ... anyone know their stock exchange symbol?
  12. sweet! always nice seeing pics ... thanks for sharing.
  13. going gen today with the 091 ...
  14. wow os ... great review of one of my favorite watches! as dluddy mentioned ... i have this gen. in fact, i'm wearing it right now. lol. i did a quick overview of this when it first came out and i've copied it below for your refernce. thanks again for the review and pictures ... we know how long it takes to put something like this together! please feel free to ask any questions you may have regarding the gen. all the best. Posted 22 December 2008 - 09:18 PM i really wasn't expecting this release, and at first glance the watch looks great. i would have jumped all over this a couple of years ago but as some of you may or may not know, i was able to find an amazing deal and now own the gen. i still may pick it up for comparison sake. with that being said, let's start picking this apart ... first off, it should be on a brushed tt and ss bracelet, tapering from 24mm to 20mm (double or single push button deployment was available in the "e" series). everything on the rep is titanium which will make it lighter than the gen. the bezel, crown guard and crown should be ss. the actual case, crown lever and caseback is titanium. the dial looks good but i'm not sure how the anthracite color compares. the gen actually looks different at different angles and can change from a light grey, to a blueish grey, to a dark grey and even all black ... very cool and unique to only a few panerai models. the font is a little off and there is a frame around the date window that should not be there. also, there seems to be a ridge line around the subdial but that is getting pretty picky. other than that, the placement of the numerals, sticks and "l swiss made l" is pretty much spot on. the worst looking part of the dial is the lume. not the actual lume color (it looks very strong in the picture), but the small squares that are lumed. the complete square should be lumed and it looks like they have lumed only 3/4 of the square. probably hard to tell from the naked eye, but it is really jumping out at me in these pics. the hands and canon pinion look great, although the actual pin on the gen is polished. date font looks ok but the mag is bad (like most panerai reps). as members have already mentioned, the crown pin should be flat and also a couple of mm higher. the caseback quality is poor ... the gen does not say " ocean chronometer" on it. in closing, if you've been waiting for this rep since http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sA6W-0x-TfI, i would go for it! and although hard to find, there are tt and ss bracelets for sale from time to time. i wish i felt up to taking some comparison pictures for you but i'm a little under the weather. here is a close-up of the rep from davidsenjpn (i hope it's ok that i copied it here) and my dial which will give you an idea. all the best! rep gen
