you dont need a swiss movement in this watch. my wife had this for a while and it always ran perfectly. it is an asian 7750 modified with extra transfer gears to make it a 3-6-9 layout. im probably wrong but if i remember correctly, it is 11 gears?
with the amount you will spend purchasing a swiss movement and installing it, you could have purchased 2 of these watches
the 026k's have been sold out months ago. Went to the Panerai Boutique in Beverly Hills to reserve one and the list was 7 pages long!! this was 3 months after it was announced from Basel.
im actually thinking of getting this for my wife. she is heavily in the fashion industry and gold watches are coming back...mostly on trendy posh women. they are all over the place in posh boutiques all over LA. she has been bugging me for a gold mens Cartier Tank but i think she'll like this better.
I may be lurking in the wrong subforum but I wanted the opinion of the Rollie guys. I do have a Gen 80's Gold Presidential and the gold sheen is a dull yellow gold. I am not a fan of Rolexes, especially gold, but this has caught my eye. How is the color and quality of the plating? I dont want my wrist to turn green. What do you guys think?
I need something Blingy. Yup!! Gold IS coming back.....
Glad to hear you are back . Traveling does mess with your internal clock and plumbing...lol.
I am patiently waiting for my trip to France next summer as I've never been. Any "must see" sites?

Ubi,
i would recommend Mario Paci, Simona Straps, and Ted Su Straps. Those are all winners. It all depends on personal taste....ie. thickness, length, stitching, preference of keepers, buckles etc.

Seem like you guys are having a great time despite some detours....but hey its an adventure in itself right?? Safe travels and see you when you get back

i golf with my manual wind pams and my SSD weekly with no problems. if you're breaking watches golfing, SLOW down your swing as you're swinging too hard anyways.
