  1. Hi broz! Ive just bought a standard lume kit from a member and would like to try out some lume work. Is there a way to make the lume more weak and brownish, by for example adding espresso or do i need special colored vintage lume for this?

Hard to say. I used a dremel to do it. I was taking my time to do it so it took me approximately an hour. But it was not that much. My guess is that I took less than 1mm...the bezel still looks fine I think

I was comparing you bezel to the gens and it looks like its still the same space between the dots and the end of the bezel. Good job!

Thanks guys! It seems I have the old-style DW case, so the crystal fit the rehaut perfectly. I just had to trim the bezel a bit.

Even though I like the cyclops, if I can find a no-cyclops domed version may try that on my other watch.

Not much information but it looks like it's in the UK. I tried to go through the checkout process and when I put in the address info, etc. It asked for region/state the drop  down box only showed counties in the UK, not the states. I couldn't progress any further so couldn't see what the options were for delivery, payments etc.

I would be very wary of this one. From the looks of the offerings, it looks like some of the DW parts, but who knows. He was buying his stock from someone, possibly another entity has the same source. And then again, it could be DW "back from the dead" a third or fourth time!!

Yes he did leave some members hanging last time. Folks paid for watches and parts that were never delivered. IF it's him, I wouldn't touch this with a bargepole. Problem is there are lots and lots of new folks around that don't have any idea about DW or his past history. Those are the members I worry about, as they are blissfully unaware of the past problems, they will order and some will get their stuff, but if history serves us, at some point, he will take the money and run!!

The domain is registered in China btw.

  5. I have to call REP on this case.

Here is a 6536/1 case, proven to be from 1958.  I'm no genius but I'd guess Rolex would use VERY similar cases for the 6536/1 and the 6542.  There might be subtle differences but the overall dimensions should be very similar.

Compare your photos to mine.  Specifically look at the distance on the back from the crown to the "lip" where it bumps up to meet the caseback  Mine is very narrow and yours is very wide.  Also look at the side opposite the crown: from the edge of the case to the "lip" should be VERY narrow.

Unless the caseback on the 6542 is much smaller than the 6536/1, the case is much bigger than mine.  I doubt that, because the 1030 and 1065 movements are the same ligne and so will come out through the same size hole.

Thx Nanuq, I see that now, found some images of gen 6542 that prove your point. I wonder if that could be a yuki case?
