  1. That was me and it is absolutely 100% true. You need to cover your bases because if you do not do a CAT scan for example (even if it's not really indicated by the presentation of the complaint) and miss something that it might have picked up, then it's your ass. And the whole American legal system is a joke. Look at the judge that is suing some poor dry cleaners for some unbelievable sum (can't remember it right now but it is severl hundred thousands of dollars at least) for losing his pants. That case should have been thrown out and the judge removed from the bench for even trying to sue for such a stupid thing, yet it's been ongoing for a long time now. Finally, I agree with Pug that a lot of this will be ignored simply because of who made it i.e. Moore.
  2. It doesn't bother me. I admit that it's not my preferred style of writing as I guess I am a bit of a conservative when it comes to things like this and detest seeing things like ur instead of your. But it's perfectly legible and I am fine with it. I'm sure you know there is no need to apologize for it. After all, who the hell am I? Do what makes you happy but again, I just personally find it strange that it appears so many people would choose (apparently not in your case) to imitate TTK for whatever reason. In the end, this thread has no real point. While it may have come off as such, it isn't really a criticism or some misguided appeal to stop. I have no illusions that people will do so on my behalf. I guess it was just me sharing my musings.
  3. But again, the original question was not which dealer should inspect, etc. It was which dealer does. And whether it needs to be done or not, Narikaa does and therefore deserves to be listed/mentioned and is why he "made this prestigious list".
  4. I don't see it a ton. In the grand scheme of things I'd say I've seen it from perhaps 4 or 5 other people between here and RWI. While I don't claim to have visited every forum or read every single individual's writing on the WWW (which would be ludicrous), I've never seen anyone use this particular style before joining the replica watch forums. Hahaha. Nice.
  5. I should further clarify that I have no issue with the unique (well not so unique any more) nature of TTK's writing. Much like Klink's odd style, it's just his thing.
  6. Fair enough. However, it's been my observation in the short time I've been on this forum that TTK seems to have quite the following and much admiration. Not saying he doesn't deserve it (I reserve my judgement on that). However, I can honestly think of no other reason to imitate someone. I used my "cool guy at the office" as simply an example. No one would copy the office loser now would they? Sorry for more "playground" examples.
  7. See Pugwash's post. Also, before any further questioning, to the best of my knowledge ellipses is the plural form of ellipsis which is why I spelled it as such in my second post.
  8. I'm certainly not losing any sleep over it. Like I said, I find the emulation strange. I guess when in Rome... Or something to that effect. I'm not stopping anyone nor do I expect them to stop. If everyone wants to write in Pig Latin, that's their business. I'd simply find it extremely odd. I don't get the playground comment. I guess you're making reference to my maturity level and reasons for bringing this up in the first place?
  9. I had to Google cromulent. 1. Used in an ironical sense to mean legitimate, and therefore, in reality, spurious and not at all legitimate. Assumes common knowledge of the inherent Simpsons reference. 2. Expression used to legitimize another expression of dubious existence. Used in the ironic sense in that it defends the questionable use of an illigitimate or slang word with another made-up expression. The intent of the phrase is generally used in conjunction with insults to high talkers, english majors and otherwise insufferable people who feel the need to correct others. Often accompanied by a punch to the stomach. Both from Urban Dictionary.
  10. Ellipses are a normal form of punctuation. Using them like commas, however, is not. I can also refer you to forums that I have been on for years where I use them quite frequently when I type. I do...not...write like....this though.
  11. Kinda cool. I'm not loving it though.
  12. I don't get it. I have never seen anyone type like this before. I think it's fine for that to be an individual's unique/particular style but it is hardly the "norm" yet I see it fairly often on this forum and RWI where TTK posts. Therefore, I can only conclude that people are simply copying him which is well...strange to me. I don't know. I feel it's the same as if an individual were to go to work and show up in the exact same pair of pants, shoes and sunglasses as the "cool guy" who also works there. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery they say but this just strikes me as extremely odd. Note: the one exception to this is when people are replying to TTK and obviously making a joke of it rather than it being their normal style of writing.
  13. The thread is about dealers that do not drop ship not dealers that do not drop ship more expensive reps.
  14. That is total BS. It amounts to a bait and switch and is dishonest at best. IMO the dealer should be outed but I understand your desire to wait until you try to resolve the situation first.
  15. That is not at all my understanding though I have no first-hand experience with the actual medical system over there. From what I've been told by many doctors, docs in the UK actually know how to diagnose patients instead of relying on test after test in a shotgun approach (which again partially gets back to fear of being sued so the docs try to cover their asses) like many in the US (again, I say this as someone studying medicine in the US system). Pretty good. Just long wait times depending on what you need done.
  16. I like Hillary but I thought that commercial was pretty lame when I saw it in the "What watch is Bill wearing?" thread.
  17. I think a dark brown or chocolate strap would look pretty cool on that watch. No specific suggestions though. On a watch that's supposed to be gold, I wouldn't put a cheap rep strap on it though and it will cost you some decent coin to get quality alligator/croc. $150+
  18. Heh, I don't know who takes a bite out of a crab shell in any case. Crazy Norwegians! I somehow forgot to mention that the shot of the PAM on the pebbles is pretty cool. I love black and white photos. Would be nicer if it weren't reflecting the rocks though IMO and you could see the face more clearly.
  19. Noooooooooo don't eat Sebastian!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. I believe I saw that on his site for a while now.
  21. There are also lots of people with no insurance (illegal or not) who get away with using their relative's own. Doctors also need to cater to the insurance companies so that they can be listed as one of their preferred/recommended providers. Otherwise, they are left out of the loop and don't get as many patients as another provider who bows down to "The Man". Then there are patient quotas that you have to meet which is why docs spend so little time with each patient. It's such a ridiculous system. I can't stress that enough and I haven't even been really involved in it yet since I'm only a student. Please note that I don't think that the system is poor because doctors don't make as much money as they did in the 80s. It's just that I hate that decisions are made by the insurance companies about patients' care and I can't understand that for the life of me. Sometimes I can't blame people for not having insurance either cause it's so damned expensive. How many people do you know that stick with their job/employer cause they get dental and medical coverage? Oh and hospitals overcharge for a lot of crap too.
  22. Pretty much expected this outcome since people like Paris, Britney, Lohan, etc. do all they can to stay in the media i.e. the more publicity the better. No publicity is bad publicity and, in fact, it's usually damned good no matter what it's about. So here's Paris laughing all the way to the bank. Again. http://www.nypost.com/seven/06212007/news/...anne_garvey.htm I fully expect a book deal or some crap like that as well.
  23. Doctors don't charge crap. It's mostly all determined by the insurance companies unless you're in private practice with FFS (fee for service) and most people do not pay out of pocket which brings us back to insurance companies, HMOs, PPOs, etc. I agree that the medical system in Europe (well I am only familiar with Sweden and Germany) is better than the US in a lot of ways but you also get taxed up the wazoo for it up front. When I was in Canada, taxes ranged from around 14-20%. Compare that with most places in the US where it's 7% or less. @Nanug, I totally agree that frivolous lawsuits are a big part of it. Many doctors are avoiding or getting out of fields like obstetrics or surgery cause of huge malpractice insurance fees. Also, you can't pay out of pocket for everything. If you need any major procedures done, that's a crazy amount of money. But for small things, it's not really a problem. Back on topic: Yeah, great, you're making $200k+ but half of it is going towards insurance and student loans (okay, not half obviously but a lot of it). Of course, there are the successful ones who pull in a lot more than $200k/year but they are a small percentage. Think about how many people are in business/real estate and how many of them are Donald Trump. Same idea. I love how people generalize how rich doctors are and how overpaid they are. From a financial perspective, it's a lot smarter to go into law, business, dentistry, etc. 4 years of college + 4 years of dentistry/law = $100k+ paycheck without a lot of the hassle. You're also in the work force a lot earlier which means more money to invest which means more money in the long run. Medicine = 4 years college + 4 years medical school + 3-6 years residency (where you make less than $50k/year) + $100-200k in student loans (I have no idea how much loans cost for something like law or dentistry but would also like to throw out that medical school in many European countries is free) to earn the average salary of $150-200k and pay massive amounts of insurance. I wonder if it's worth it. Me = 3rd year medical student. I know there are several docs on this board who would likely agree with me. PS For the record, I think the US medical system totally stinks and people are overcharged for a lot of it. I also really hate the overcharging pharmaceutical companies and how insurance companies dictate care based on the bottom line of the dollar. Someone once commented to me that being a doctor in the US is like spending all of your time filling out rebate forms. It's sadly true. PPS There are exceptions to the high malpractice insurance fees. Hardly anyone will sue a dermatologist or radiologist for example and they make HUGE money. Which is also why they are so difficult to get into (relative to something like Internal Medicine or Pediatrics for example).
  24. Yeah, that's total garbage. I don't buy the "I'm testing it" or "It didn't pass my QC" BS that some dealers try to pass off. If they don't have the watch in stock or parts are short, then they should inform the customer not leave them hanging. But I guess some people are willing to accept that and make excuses that that's what you should expect in this business. No thanks. Not me. I'll deal with traders who are honest and upfront instead. They do exist.
  25. Several men are in the locker room of a golf club. A cellphone on a bench rings and a man engages the hands freespeaker-function and begins to talk. Everyone else in the roomstops to listen. MAN: "Hello." WOMAN: "Honey, it's me. Are you at the club?" MAN: "Yes." WOMAN: "I am at the mall now and found this beautiful leather coat. It's only $1,000. Is it OK if I buy it?" MAN: "Sure, go ahead if you like it that much." WOMAN: "I also stopped by the Mercedes dealership and saw the new 2007 models. I saw one I really liked." MAN: "How much?" WOMAN:"$90,000." MAN: "OK, but for that price, I want it with all the options." WOMAN: "Great! Oh, and one more thing .....the house I wanted last year is back on the market. They're asking $950,000." MAN: "Well, then go ahead and give them an offer of $900,000.They will probably take it. If not, we can go the extra 50thousand. It is really a pretty good price." WOMAN: "OK. I'll see you later! I love you so much!!" MAN: "Bye! I love you, too." The man hangs up. The other men in the locker room are staring at him in astonishment, mouths agape.....Then he smiles and asks: "Anyone know who this phone belongs to?"
