  1. The 2 green subs I used in the comparison are from the maker, yes I mentioned 1:1 replicated from a gen sample and it is true, but the maker obviously didnt rep it well, I did not intend to confuse you guys but if the 1:1 replication is not appropriate and I can remove it.

The sample was returned to the maker and I forgot to test it on a time grapher machine, I thought they were in stock and I could always test it later but the maker told me it will take me a few days to get it because they need to test more carefully on this movement. No one has received any QC pics or watch from me yet as I have not got them.

I said what I am told only, I never used white lies in my business, I am not experienced enough or I would have already tried to swap the clone into the gen case.

Please email me if you have any questions regarding this watch/movement and I am happy to assist.

I have called the maker when I see this post and he will try to deliver me the watches to me asap.

    Hi Angus,

If you send me a movement I will do a full tear down and photo report just for RWG.

    Let me know!

  2. My 2cents:

Before you buy a watch so equipped, ask yourself if you'd spend an extra $200.00 up front for it...

so that $275.00 rep suddenly becomes a $475.00 rep!!

IMNSFHO, I refuse to buy ANYTHING that I know is going to, automatically, almost double in cost, just to function properly...

And even "properly" functional A7750's often experience premature failure if you decide to do something as "outrageous" as use the functions built into it...like the stop watch feature!!

    OR.......

At $475 often a fraction of the cost of the genuine counterpart you won't only have a watch that looks like the real deal. It will also perform as the genuine.

So if it looks, performs and is as reliable as a genuine... why buy a genuine? All the extra $$$ are solely for the brand name mark-up. Oh yeah and a piece of paper they call a 'certificate'. Never figured out why people are willing to pay $3000 and up for a piece of paper

  3. Aren't there certain gears in there that will only work turning in one direction?

It's kind of a cool idea.. With a reversed dial it would still tell the time. And date according to the post above.

    :D

Only the gear train can be reversed. So only the hands will move in the opposite direction. All complications e.g. day/ date will not function any more and have to be removed.

  4. Had an idea for a fun project... what I will call a "Benjamin Button" watch. Much liked the clock featured in the film, I am wondering if it's possible to modify a movement ETA or DG so that the hands actual move counter-clockwise.

This would of course be a no-date type of project, as I imagine trying to add a date complication to it would require serious re-working of the date mechanism.

If any experts can chime in, it would be appreciated.

Just role the main spring in the opposite direction in the barrel.

  5. The Swiss and the Asian 775x movements have 200+ parts in them.

As-delivered in a replica watch, you have no guarantee at all that either a Swiss or Asian is clean or oiled. They are probably dirty and dry no matter which you buy.

People who buy Swiss or Asian 775x movements in replica watches are strongly urged to service them as soon as possible, and then after that you can probably relax for 3 to 5 years until it's time to service again.

This is just simple reality. You buy a mega-complicated chrono movement and you have to splash out extra dollars to care for it.

Well said. Nothing more to ad!

Also look here to see how a movement could be delivered.

As said Swiss or Asian is irrelevant when it comes to non-factory-vacuum-sealed movements. It all depends on the age of the movement and the quality and expertise of the watch smith that assembled it.
