  1. I was just looking for a "refinished" gilt dial myself. There is this Tonnywatches guy who sells them for $250 and on the other side there is MQ that sells the for $800!!! So because of the pricing I have to assume that MQ dials are better?
  2. Beautiful! I think a Peruvian like me, needs one of this.
  3. I've heard TC hands are the best for this kind of vintage builds. Where and how should I order them? What's the exact model I should ask for?
  4. Damn... I kind of need saving to get thiss!!!! selling for only $16K
  5. Thank you for all your assistance in this brother. Pd. You have a very masculine looking hands! Lol
  6. Slight change on my build! I'm going with a phong case! And just got myself a nice NOS 702 crown and tube.
  7. That's a very nice build spec! Looking forward to seeing the progress [emoji4] Here's mine. Cartel midcase and back. Phong bezel assembly. Yuki insert, pearl, hands, T39 crystal. ETA 2846. Singer dial. Polexpete DWO. That's a nice looking dial with a nice aged tritium effect. Who's dial is it?
  8. I jist love the DRSD. I'm also building the same watch, initially I was also going with a MBW as a base watch, but I got so obssesed with perfection the now I'm going with phong. So far I got these parts - Phonh case - Gen NOS T39 - Gen fat font MK III insert - Gen 702 crown and tube - Gen hands - Gen 1570 movement - Gen silver DW But my weak point it's the dial, I haven't been able to find the right dial for this watch. For now I might be going with a "tonnyswatch" brown MK II dial, but I'm hoping to find a better dial in the near future.
  9. @panerai153 What dial did you use on this build?
  10. Great collection. I love that ghost. Some day I'll be lucky to find one like that.
  11. MK II
  12. I haven't reserved a budget for that, I'm trying to find a "good deal" on nice fat font faded one. Everything I've seen on VRM goes around $1200 - $1500.
  13. MBW will be the base watch, which I have modded for a closer to gen look.
  14. Appreciate the help guys. I wouldn't be able to be gathering my parts... The seller is replacing the DWO, so now it will look like this. So these are my parts so fra - Tropical MK II dial - Gen matching hands - Gen NOS T39 - Gen movement cal 1570 - Gen silver DWO - Gen 703 crown and tube Next is the insert... I've been looking for a nice fadded fat font insert, but those things are even more expensive than the movement... I was wondering if there are other alternatives I might have.... How bad or good this thing looks to your expert eyes?
  15. Definitely a humble Nissan for a humble man!!
  16. Thanks for the heads up @panerai153. I'm glad to know it will accept gen parts. Well my parts gathering it's moving forward, so far I got the tropic dial, gen matching hands, gen NOS T39... And now I've been offered this 1570 movement that I'd like to get your opinion. To my noob eye, the DW looks a little damaged.
  17. Thanks very much for the input. I did read that thread from Slay, but I'm happy to know this may not be the same case. I'd love to go franken on this build, but unfortunately a Gen DRSD it's not an option, so I'll settle for now wih the tropical shown on the pictures. However there aree other parts that I would like to franken. I'd like to install a gen NOS T39 and a gen fat font insert, do you guys know if those would fit in the MBW case without problems? or will I need a gen bezel assembly? Also regarding the crown, which would you suggest to be the right one Thanks fo the help in advance.
  18. Anyone? I'd appreciate the help very much!
  19. Hi guys, I'm new to Vintage Rolex and I'm looking to build a 1665 DRSD base on a MBW I just bought and sourcing the other parts from the best available at the moment. At this time I'm focus on the dial and just found this 2 I'm hoping the experts here can give me a honest opinion on this 2 I just found. Thanks in advance for the help.
  20. What do you guys think abiut this dial from him?
  21. How lucky is this guy!
  22. Great review. Now I think I need that engraved case for my franken 036B.
  23. What can I say, you already know what I think about that watch. Even with the very good stock rep just released, NOTHING beats a gen dial, specially tritium!
  24. Somewhere around $5k, being the dial and hands the most expensive! I've seen only 3 other dials like this in the wild so sometimes if you really want something there is no other choice but pay the asking price. Enviado desde mi iPhone utilizando Tapatalk
