  1. i have recently been sourcing out a strap (with no luck) for my wife, and this chart came in very handy. i am looking for a very short light pink strap for a 40mm pam. must be soft and comfortable ... anyone have any for sale or trade? thanks in advance and enjoy the chart!

www.banda.com will make one, just the size you want, in the leather you want, at very reasonable cost.

  2. @Jimbo - where did you find this?

I have considered getting one of the street-market reps, polishing off the crappy engraving and doing it properly... but this one looks to be better than anything I could achieve.

But shouldn't it say "Purdy"... or is this a later re-issue?

  3. With some elbow grease and Cape Cod polishing cloth you should have good results, but it will take MUCH longer than 5-minutes...

Not if you have a Dremel, or similar. Mine is a Black & Decker clone..

I just polished a formally brushed J le C Kompressor case and bezel. I removed the movement and the three crowns, masked the crystal with parcel tape (probably not necessary, but better safe that sorry) then set to with the Cape Cod. About 25 minutes later, the job was done. Easy!

My method was to cut a half-inch strip of the CC cloth, fold it like a concertina, make a hole through the centre of the wad, then mount it on an arbour. Making a hole through the centre of the wad was probably the hardest part of the operation. CC is surprisingly tough stuff.

Running the clone Dremel at low speed worked wonders. The result... quite quickly achieved, was a perfectly polished case and bezel. It has transformed the watch.

  4. So if you can, suspend the parts from a window overlooking a busy road.

H2S in exhaust gas is one of the joys that catalytic converters have brought to the world. A deadly poison, by the way.

Makes me laugh, watching all those joggers, "getting healthy" as they pump down the pavements, breathing in deisel micoparticles, H2S and CO. Laced with small side order of HCN.

I'll stay on the sofa, watch telly and outlive all them silly boogers.

  5. Thanks Phoband, forputting me on the track.

It's a nice item and is great as background in pics...

I'm thinking of putting it on my desk at work......my secretary won't like that i presume...... :D

Your secretary isn't into rubber and BDSM? Not even a little "gentle restraint"?

You didn't choose very well. did you?

  6. I have been looking forwrd to the release of the Arktos GMT - but have to say that I'm a little disappointed.

Apart from the flaws mentiond above, of which surely the worst is that GMT hand, nobody has yet mentioned that, according to the Panerai website, the face should be blue.

But I'll probably buy one when funds permit.

  7. GRENADA! :o

I thought there was only a few chooks and stuff there after the Americans raided the place

Either your watches stopped for a short holiday or it's an abbreviation for something else :)

    Ken

Is this an appropriate moment to remind you that those "Chooks" are British citizens and that the US invaded the British sovereign territory of Granada without permission?

And. while we are about it, that Aussies are the descendants of criminals?

Never trust a man who wears short trousers to the office...

  8. There is a simple test of this - and of every rep watch forum.

Just ask one simple question on every forum that you can find.

    "Who has the best sub?"

The shysters will point you in the direction of one of their puppet sites.

The honest forums will flame your [censored]... but it doesn't really hurt... and you find out who you really trust.

Double-check: Search the archives here for "who has the best sub" and see what happens. Fun for all the family

Oh yes... Jos is the best dealer on the planet. But don't take my word for it .... while you are waiting for your watch to arrive, use the search button, keywords: Jos Nana.

I think that you will be impressed.
