This fantastic David Sen 195 arrived a few days ago - after a faultless transaction with Ravishing Rick: And the obligatory wrist shot... I'm really enjoying this watch. The strap is much too big for me - but its a great strap... so its staying. Thank you, RR!

Retro-fit upgrades - free of charge? Unbelievable! I have sung Jos's praises on the forums, many times. With good reason. But he has surprised even me, his biggest fan, with this news. I can't take advantage of it... don't have any of those watches. But those of you who do have... be glad that you did business with Jos. You know it makes sense! Happy timekeeping! Clive -
I wish you every good fortune and an early and successful conclusion to your current difficulties. I will miss you input here. More, perhaps, that you may imagine. I'll miss your avatar, too. Damn, she has a lovely smile. May Dame Fortune be smiling just as warmly on you in the days to come. Clive

Well, I've been reading this thread since it started and, frankly, I'm confused. I hear much talk of "pornographic" avatars. I have yet to see one, here. Maybe I missed the masturbating lady.... but I would consider the girly avatars here as erotic, not pornographic. I certainly would not have any problem with my kids seeing the erotic avatars here. In the main, they represent the beauty of the human form. Having said that, I do find some of the more grotesque avatars very disturbing... there are some that I would not wish my children to see. For me, member's avatars are free expression... some are provocative, most are creative, all are chosen to reflect some aspect of the author's personality. Maybe the avatar will tell you more about the author than his writing can. For instance, mine combines my appreciation of the female form with my passion for cycling.....

Add any Pam with panda subdials.

I thought that No. 58 looked cute...

That explains a lot. Like why it is that although I have never gone to bed with an ugly woman... I've woken up with quite a few.

FIXING MISALIGNED SUBDIAL HAND ON 187!!

Excellent essay, and great explanatory photos. Congratulations on successful operation - and thanks for sharing it with us! -
Evil is in the eye of the beholder. If you are bothered by the naked human form, its your problem - don't even think of trying to impose your mores on me. Who do you think you are? Such neck-snapping arrogance is unforgivable. So there Frankly, whilst I have no problem whatever with erotic avatars, I do find some other avatars very disturbing... But I applaud their creativity. Yes, I'm talking to you Staticman Right. Enough forum-surfing for tonight. I'm off for a nice healthy bicycle ride...

I guess that you mean the lug screws... This has been a problem since the first 111 burst upon the scene. I think that the factory simply drive the screws into an unthreaded hole... and hope that it will cut some sort of thread. Compare this - a new screw, and one that I removed from a brand new 111 (the famous "17 ewell", "officne" version) Yes.. its an old photo. Enough time has passed that this problem should have been fixed. In the meantime, there is always tread-lock. Our friend... Having said that, the David Sen 195 that I received today has perfect treads on both the screws and in the lugs. It can be done...

@Admin... I envy your purchasing power. I pushed the boat out and bought two reps this month, one new, one second-hand. Exceeded my realistic budget... And then you tell me that you just blew $34K on this watch... I am jelous... but not envious. Wear it well and enjoy! Happy timekeeping! Clive

@Edge... how do you remove the bezel insert on an SMP without damaging it?

Watchwatcher.. I'm looking for a dirtcheap Oris, too.. I want an XXL Worldtimer. My local AD sold off their Oris stock at half price... but of course, I arrived too late - the Worldtimer had been sold. So if you find a low-cost source, please let me know.

I think that the 212 - the prototype version, without the ugly "REG TM" on the CG - will be my next Panerai.

Highdef... that watch would probably be too big for your car! Pretty car.... I think that the Pam Ferrari watches are a great improvement over the GP watches, which were, let's face it, pretty staid and, frankly, dull. Innapropriate. But I wouldn't buy one of these Pam Ferraris even if I did have the car to match. I prefer the traditional Panerai style.

Black, for sure.

Oh no! Not another one... Only kidding! Welcome!

The lack of front mudguards would make it illegal on UK roads. As would the inability to see where you are going.

At last - now we know who has the best (or at least the most overpriced) Sub. And you have to admit, the crown on his GMT is much more generously proportioned than the real thing... A bargain!

I take my reps off when I wash my hands...

Something Bugs Me About The New Bentley Gmt
Highflyingclive replied to rek001's topic in General Discussion
Damn... I thought I had missed something... you had me chasing all over the net looking for a replica Breightling for Bently GMT. But I think that you meant Bently GT... right? Sadly, I don't think that a Bentley GMT exists... not yet, anyway. If I am wrong, please let me know! -
Only a glutton takes mustard with mutton.

On any automatic Pam, it is a long way from the crown to the movement. Big case, small movement, long winding stem. So the crown is likely to wobble. Treat it gently... I'd be concerned if this happened on a 6947 Pam, though. Like a 111 or 183. On a Fiddy, well... it's a long way from the crown to the movement

Re-polishing A Brushed Ss Case
Highflyingclive replied to ryyannon's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
These things work well - I used to use them a lot, for cleaning up white-metal castings, prior to soldering. They work very well... BUT... Wear rubber gloves. Or spend the next week picking tiny, invisible, glass fibre splinters out of your hands.
