  1. After the third layer I always sand with 2000 paper to remove some glitches before a fourth layer. I sanded a little too much... [emoji632]
  2. Although the dial is damaged, I applied a nice vintage lume. [emoji632]
  3. the best is sometimes the enemy of the good... Argh ! [emoji632]
  4. Dial progress. After the third varnish layer. [emoji632]
  5. I start to love these vintage Daytona mate ! I'm not sure I have to thank you [emoji3] [emoji632]
  6. After I started to prepare a dial, I thought it would be interesting to take some dimensions... [emoji632]
  7. Thanks for the compliment, this dial is not bad for a budget gilt so I have not hesitated to reduce my Cartel insert, I'm a bit afraid to shave a nice Yuki insert. How did you do that on yours without damaging the edge ? [emoji632]
  8. Hi Jack ! I want to thank you for your advice to use this GS Crystal. It's beautiful ! Do you know the diameters of your Yuki insert. Yuki say 36.5mm and my new startime bezel is 36.4 as gen. I want to buy a better insert than my Cartel. Thanks [emoji632]
  9. Last update. Startime bezel assembly and GS PA 462-66 crystal.
  10. Stunning work Jack ! you are definitely a magician [emoji93] Rolojack Watch Guide [emoji632]
  11. @dbane883 Tonny make a very fair price for tube & crown. Thank you for your informed opinion. Lug chamfers are not as good as yours but I'm satisfied enough. @mir36 He had a nice complete 6538 with 1030 movement, gen hands, repainted dial, and rep rivet bracelet (maybe Yuki) to sell. he offered his own initiative to separate and sell me case and crown [emoji1303] [emoji632]
  12. @philwongz Yes there is some drill glitches around the holes. Clearly visible on macro, barely with my presbyopic eyes . And I don't think the holes are too big. I will try some gen spec bars. I do not see what you reproach about chamfers. Bezel is nickel plated, not artificially colored. [emoji632]
  13. Hello friends ! After two pretty builds based on Silix and HR cases, I understand the need for a better Big Crown. I contacted Tonny to see what he could offer. The first case series is not bad, but it takes a lot of work to get a satisfactory result. As I did not find it to my liking, he offered to sell me the case of a complete 6538 build. Pretty chamfers, slightly aged bezel, gen tube and crown. Banco! see what I have received Tonny is a nice guy and a great seller. He was very patient and always answered all my questions clearly. 14. @hologramet I figure it's negative relief like this one on dbane tonny 5510 [emoji632]
  15. @hologramet Thought this dial was true gilt with negative relief. it seems I'm going to do my own dials a time I will prepare a 27mm for my new case. [emoji632]
  16. Would it be better than that ? It's 250$ lumed. But I can't bring to cut the Rolex feet. EDIT : I forgot the diameter issue. 29mm diameter is needed for budget cases. [emoji632]
  17. @hologramet Yes I saw your dial project. I could be interested, but 400€ is a little bit pricey. I will start a new gen spec 6538 soon, and an affordable true gilt dial for ETA would be great. [emoji632]
  18. You're right, I agree concerning the insert. I will replace it when my next 6538 completed. [emoji632]
  19. Thanks 1675 is too hard to achieve... [emoji632]
