  1. It seems a bit heavy handed. Customs is a risk we all run, but my understanding is that it is not illegal to own or buy counterfeit goods in the USA, it is certainly perfectly legal here. I understand France and Italy take quite a hard line. The letter from Rolex is harder to understand. If they had ever really wanted to curb copies of their products they could be more proactive on dealers and manufacturers. My feeling is that having the most copied watches in the world quietly suits them very well. I doubt they have ever lost a single sale to a sub five hundred Dollar knock off. On the other hand it helps keep their name a household name and a good few people eventually upgrade to genuine. Why would they take an individual owning a watch for their own pleasure to court? They are unlikely to be able to extract $2 Million from an average rep buyer, court order or not. The publicity would make them look rather draconian and as already stated they would be better addressing the seller's. Sabre rattling? Someone at Customs idea of a joke?
  2. Hmm joined 14 June, last visit 14 June. Kind of keen to hear the answer. Oh well back to the knitting
  3. @kernow Simple really 120kg of gens would cost too much. A Rolex Submariner is around 130g, which means I need 923 of them at $8500 each or $7,845,500-00 I think that answers your question
  4. Link please, I don't know her
  5. I would also love to see a good rep of this. I can't imagine it won't be done.
  6. Andrew is a great choice. I'm very happy you didn't go with a scam site, I hate seeing new guys get stung. Please share pictures and opinions when it arrives.
  7. There are four English language fora, buy from the TDs on any site you are a member. Also none of our TDs are supporters of the forum, we prefer to keep our independence. If you want to go it alone, do so. What we do here is share information, if you read some previous posts you would see members talking about where they buy there watches and parts. I mostly buy from Phong and his son Jensen, they are not TDs here or anywhere else, though I would welcome them with open arms, but are openly discussed. These are very high end reps, but not 1:1, nor Swiss made, you didn't ask about reputable sellers, you specifically asked about known scam sites
  8. My friend and colleague @kernowgave you sound advice to stick to Trusted Dealers. I doubt you will hear from any of our members who have bought from these sites, for the simple reason that they tend not to fall for such scams. In the end it is your money, you can take free advice from those who have been buying reps for a decade or more, or go your own way and buy a Swiss made, 1:1 replica that you can take into any Authorised Dealer. I don't know any more ways to tell you they don't exist.
  9. Snow blindness Minty? If that's Stu's wrist he has had a hell of a lot of skin grafts recently.
  10. Sorry to say, you can stop looking, the Swiss authorities would never allow counterfeit copies of Swiss watches to be made in their country. Why would they undermine their own economy? Any site that claims to have Swiss made replicas is lying, pure and simple. Solidswiss has been discussed here many times before, it is a scam site. There are some very very good Chinese and Vietnamese reps available however. Decide what particular model you are interested in and do some reading in the relevant sub-section
  11. Yes I love those straps, and it's good to see you back online brother
  12. Thank you Minty, just ordered a 20mm
  13. That strap looks very good. Link to the seller?
  14. You forgot Formation Swanning About
  15. Neil? Not the slightest idea who you are talking about. I'm going back to my knitting ???
  16. If Rolex is your main interest, go to the subsection https://rwg.cc/forum/143-the-rolex-area/ and spend a couple of nights reading anything that grabs your attention. I guarantee you will know more than you thought there was to know ? I did when I was new here
  17. Hello and welcome to our community.
  18. Ive never heard of it and we strongly recommend using Trusted Dealers rather than unknown websites, many of which are scams. I had a very quick look and saw several warning signs. Swiss made movements on a sub $300 watch. I don't think so, probably Chinese copy. Nothing wrong with a Chinese movement, but there is in misrepresentation
