  1. @Nanuq I would love to see your 59. Beautiful guitar and a six figure pension fund in one.
  2. I had a ton of problems. In the end I tried a different platform and it worked straight away. Once I was registered I can log in on any machine.
  3. Are you saying that is bleached?
  4. Basically for wear and tear. On a Rolex the gold parts are solid gold. One minor desk dive mark on 16613 rep and the plating is scratched through to the base stainless steel.
  5. PM me your address and I'll forward you a set.
  6. Thanks for that. I just ordered half a dozen for a community workshop I'm involved in.
  7. @porschespeedster I know he is on vacation at the moment so he might not get back to you. He makes his own dials. Check out a couple f his threads.
  8. I think not quite the same. I know there is half a millimetre indifference in the dial diameter. I don't know if there is any major shape difference. Maybe it would be possible to have a 5513 scanned and do a separate file with the half millimetre for 1680? Got to pick one for a start. In time I hope to see a selection of decent cases. Maybe other brands might like to play too in the long term. This could be a watershed, if we need a subscription I'm in whatever case is modelled.
  9. Hello and welcome. I started out with no idea how to even open a screw back and slowly but surely I am getting into watch repair. Knowledge plus practice equals experience.
  10. ^ this. Accurate cases by members for members and ideally a little cut for the board. I really want this!
  11. Might want a full stop in that last line. I'm scanning Activity and I see "Clone ETA being advertised as Swiss by Micky Aldridge on Flickr". I was so shocked I spilt my coffee. :-)
  12. Probably the US if you mean the ocean variety, otherwise I'm not saying nothing.
  13. That is something I am very interested in and not just for this model.
  14. I've never seen a replica sadly. I don't think genuine ones are two much. Actually I always hated this watch when it was in production, but I like it a lot now.
  15. That seems quick, doesn't seem long since you bought it. Enjoy.
  16. We were promised hover cars by now. I want zero emissions, warp speed and an improbability drive. Never mind cup holders I want photon canons and a laser shield. Oh and if it's not too unrealistic a sat nav that actually works.
  17. Suspenders are a whole lot more interesting this side of the pond and I always wear a belt with them because I would hate anyone to see my laPerla thong:-)
  18. I like the aged look to the hands. Did you use vinegar fumes?
  19. Automatico makes a very good point. As far as I am aware he is correct about vintage Rolex patents. So the way around is to look at having a genuine case scanned and CNC copied without engraving in a small batch. So far so legal. Then once the case is sold to a member, that member could have it engraved. If it is not for sale or profit and for one's own use, one can copy anything, trademark or not. Then the only legal problem is if and when an individual wants to sell a piece, but that is no different from the current situation.
  20. Okay this is getting close to a pipe dream of mine. We are all paying through the nose for cases that are close, but not consistent or good enough. With the skills, knowledge and contacts the members have I would love to see us crowd fund project parts, be it cases or dials and maybe donate a small, percentage to the forum. I know Legend has the date wheel project going, but really it would be great to see more. like Bobandshawn says with modern technology it shouldn't be difficult to scan a good gen case and turn out copies all day long.
  21. Maybe have a look at tonnywatches on Instagram or eBay and see if you like his.
