  1. I'm going to agree with Italiano17771. I have 2 BCE's and I think they are the best rep hands down. I've had people almost fall over when I take it off my wrist to show them.
  2. It probably is gen. But if someone posted pics of a later model of that quality (i.e. fuzzy pics, no paperwork, serial not visible) it would be shot down in a sec. I'm just saying from those pics, there's no way to ascertain that the watch is actually genuine (you can't even tell if the subdials have hands) People just assume that since there's no known rep that it's gen, but this stuff does get repped outside of Asia. I blew up the pic and cleaned it 'til I could see the model number - B13048 - which is correct for this watch, so it's probably real.
  3. I agree, and in all likeliness it is gen. But absent paperwork and unknown origins call for erring on the side of caution and assuming it's fake until you get proof that it's genuine.
  4. Mines not perfect (i.e. the caseback engraving - but people don't check "vintage" Breitlings with the same scrutiny as current models) BUT - it is about 38-39mm it does have the correct 20 mm lugs it does have the "bowl" shaped screw in caseback it is the correct "cigar" shape profile looks right on, pushers look to be in the right place
  5. I wouldn't buy that one. Too many South Americans putting vintage dials on eta movements and stuffing them into asian cases (I have an asian blackbird rep and have considered doing this myself) The quartz is a real model that has never been repped afaik. I wouldn't pay $400 for it. Breitling put out a lot of junk in the '70s and '80s
  6. I like it, but I probably would have put the Ferrari sticker on top like this:
  7. I'm kind of thinking along those lines. If you know it's a recent model, then it doesn't look vintage, just broken (in my opinion)
  8. er... Dad's = dad is/posession of dad dads = plural (more than one dad)
  9. I used to want a warlock, but I got over it. I didn't think they'd be plywood though (I always wondered what "basswood" was)
  10. I'm guessing there are lots of us out there. I board at Mont Tremblant in Quebec (Canada) and the punk/rock subculture is evident at the after-parties (guitar), and if you pay attention, you'll notice a lot of high end watches around the village. The rep guitar is a little thinner and a bit lighter, but sounds pretty decent (it's solid mahogany). But it's really old (but barely played - as evident in the pics) and inaccurate (the headstock doesn't have the trademark "moustache" shape For Boards I have a Sims fader 155, Sims Vice 156, a Sims absolute 161 (sold), A technine Gas Mask, and my first sims freestyle - all on Flow (pro FS on the technine, carbon on the fader, pro 11 on the vice). I switch it up for soft snow/hard pack.
  11. With me it's a disease. Guitars, watches, I own 5 snowboards, and I'm not the greatest snowboarder - and snowboards are expensive and I wouldn't dare trust a rep even if they made them.
  12. My sears guitar is plywood, and the feedback is out of this world, even with the Noise gate on it catches the "g-string" (lol, he said g-string) and starts wailing. Makes your ears bleed.
  13. I would, but I just watched some of your clips, and I'm afraid I can't compete. Besides I don't have a line to get it into the computer, but then again, I only ever played rhythm (i.e. a couple of scales and mostly power chords) so it would be totally unimpressive.
  14. I have EMG's in my LP, the stock LP pickups in my rep LP, Stock pickups in my Fernandes Explorer (I still can't find that model, but it's too old to be fake I think- 1988) and through the Line 6, there's not much of a diff on the low end (the Fernandes is a little flatter, probably 'cause of the Floyd Rose, and the EMG's are pretty hot) Even my Sears unbranded strat clone (my first guitar) doesn't sound too bad for Metal/rhythm - it's all in the effects That is a LOUD guitar! You better be REALLY, REALLY good if you walk on stage with that thing strapped on!
  15. Buy rep, add gen parts, repeat... sounds like this can be applied to almost anything. You goona start the Replica Guitar Forum 2005Submariner? I'll sign up, lol!
  16. The irony of that statement is that I would have been called a poseur for using a Paul Reed Smith as the rhythm guitarist in a thrash/death band.
  17. I have 5 (BCE 1st gen, BCE ultimate, Tag Carerra, Breitling Super Avenger, Rolex Daytona) So far, so good... (the chrono on the daytona is rough, but I don't use it)
  18. I've always wanted a PRS, but it didn't "fit" the image (I went from punk in high school to death metal) I'm not about to spend $3K on a guitar as a wall ornament, but $300-400 is pretty good.
  19. I can't wait 'till you get your EVH and post some pics. I'm thinking about getting a PRS 24 or maybe an Ibanez Jem to hang on my wall.
  20. No prob. I hope it works out. I came across it and wanted to try it, but then I found the guitars, and thought "$400 for a new watch, or a new guitar?". Then I got cold feet about sending them my money. If you do go for it, let us know how it goes - they have some watches on there that are out of production (Breitling SeaWolf rep).
  21. real? I want that in yellow By the way, that's not a 22.
  22. You'll be fine with the A7750. Negative reports are from the old slow beat version, but even then there are lots of people who never had a problem with it (I have the super avenger and it keeps perfect time after over a year). The "guys" sell the swiss version for over $1000 - not worth it for a rep, in my opinion.
  23. Sorry, I got my winder from ebay a couple of years ago and he's no longer a seller. I remember getting screwed by customs though (in Canada) because the guy sent it UPS (they hate Canadians) so it ended up costing me an extra $100 (it was $200 before customs). Just the box goes for about $50 or less for one that holds 20 watches.
  24. There are a few Kramer 5150's on DHGate.com for about $300-350 shipped. I've never bought anything on there, but it's supposed to be like ebay (i.e. 3rd party company) and they take Paypal.
  25. ebay has tonnes of these really cheap, especially if you don't want a winder.
