  1. It's not the back that's in question (besides, a caseback would be easy to replace if you could source one), but rather, the dial. Specifically the amount of the "8" that is cut off at the top by the small seconds subdial. Typically (read:always) up 'til now, we have noticed the flaw in the rep is that there is much more "8" than there is on the gen. This watch brings that assumption into question.
  2. Even if I were to accept that this is a true variation of a genuine chrono avenger (which I don't think I'm prepared to do), I'd be more concerned (whether true or not) that this is the second post questioning the authenticity of this seller's watches in as many days: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=48864&hl=
  3. I'd say if these ads are going to generate 20 times the revenue that the Google ads did, and you need the money to keep the site running, then there isn't really a question here. I do think Cableguys idea about making it ad free for so-called "VIP" members is a pretty good compromise.
  4. I think you might be right. CJF2114 should be the link with a blue dial. The black dial would be CJF2110, but it would have silver rings around the subdials (and clear case back?). The thing about being a power seller with 3000+ feedback is you can slip 9 or 10 fakes in per year and make an extra $20 000. If someone notices, you give them a refund and say "oops! I got it in a trade, sorry, no harm done". But 99% of buyers would never question the authenticity of a watch as long as they trusted the source of that watch.
  5. My photographic skills are lacking...
  6. +1 To be honest, I always thought the rep makers were trying to produce a Formex, then decided nobody would know what that was so they stuck a Breitling badge on it. So I'd like to know the answer to that too.
  7. Even though I can assure you that most of the people here can spot fakes better than most authorized dealers, you don't have to take their word for it. Without knowing anything about the watch, the fact that the case back is "WATERRESISTANT (one word ? ) 200m TESTER (should that say *tested* )" but the dial says "300m-1000ft" should ring some very loud bells. Sorry bud, but that's a fake (My very first rep was a gold SEL with a spray painted bracelet with that exact same caseback and model number)
  8. Great watch, congrats. One of my all-time favourites as well. I would kill for a yellow Sea Wolf on a diver pro.
  9. That was me. I'd hate to see this guy going around thinking it was real 'til it stopped working and needed to be repaired. I love replicas, but really hate people who try to pass them off as gens and rip people off.
  10. I never thought about it, but I guess when you put it that way, your absolutely right. I think that knowledge we have that others take for granted is worth the price of admission.
  11. I wonder why nobody on that forum's breaking the news to him. Is it that they can't be bothered, or that none of them actually know anything about their watches?
  12. Fake...
  13. nevermind
  14. I'm a total n00b when it comes to Omega's, but I think that dial colour looks awesome. It says "take me swimming with you!"
  15. It is bugging me that we're starting to see non-chrono reps at $350+ (even if this one does have a 7750). I think at these prices I might just say to myself 19 watches is enough (I have one empty slot in my winder) and become *extremely* selective about future purchases. I would love to see them rep the new Breitling Blackbird Big Date, but not at $400-500 + shipping.
  16. Indeed I include most Americans asinsiders to my joke, but you might be surprised as to how many Americans (and Canadians) actually believe this and criticize our immigration and welfare policies
  17. Yeah, looks like you might be right. Google is filled with the version with the script font. Still, I'd like to see it under $300 shipped.
  18. Where'd you get that pic? I couldn't find it on their site. Is it an older model/different version?
  19. Rotflmao!!!!!
  20. Hambone's not gay.
  21. I think you'll find that most people in Canada can, in fact, tell time. We do, however, have some rather strict laws about misrepresenting the country of origin on manufactured goods (i.e. "swiss made" on a Chinese watch) although I don't know exactly how they'd go about proving that. I'm not sure I'd want to be going through Canada Customs with a suitcase full of replica watches though.
  22. So what's the scam? Did they take your money and run, or ship you a 17 jewel faux chrono version when the picture was of the genuine watch? I don't think anyone here would expect to get a mechanical chronograph for $99, and when we here "swiss grade" for $300-400, than we know they usually mean asian 7750 with serial numbers on case.
  23. Not quite. That font will give the watch away at 30 feet. *edit* - looks like there are 2 versions of the gen
  24. That looks amazing. From elegant to ubersporty with a strap change. Wristshots?
