I bought a BR01-92 from a forum member, described as having an ETA movement. It probably has an ETA (likely Asian) but I haven't checked. The case is excellent with proper hex screws in the caseback, not laser etched. One gripe with the watch is the short hand pinions which leave the hands pointing upwards. I have a genuine ETA 2892 that I would like to get fitted if possile. Has anyone ever tried this? Are taller pinions available for the 2892?

Just a 'heads up' for anyone wanting to complete their rep - I have no interest in Rollies so not for me, but someone else may be interested. http://www.tz-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=125856&p=1306186&hilit=oyster#p1306186

Got the datewheel sorted - the hard way. Thanks to a 'heads-up' from a member here I snapped up a genuine Breitling movement, complete with daywheel, on the 'Bay. Now the whole lot is with The Zigmeister to have that movement serviced and dropped into my V2, getting lume dots & hands done at the same time. Can't wait to get this one back on my arm. It should be an 'ultimate V2'. Will post pics when it arrives home.

Here you go. This is closest to the preA movement, which was the first Panerai to use the 6497-2. However they didn't have blued screws, but the CdG pattern is the same. I have one of this style in a 6497-1 in my preA franken, as it was the closest that I could get.

Now that is really nice. I have just bought a genuine Omega Flightmaster (910) which uses the same style (Pilot Line) case and it is my current 'favourite watch'. Very comfortable for such a large piece. I can see me getting one of these.

(?) What keeps the bezel on a Jimmy Fu case? Mine just got PVD-ed ...
PAMman replied to BigCrown's topic in The Panerai Area
As already said - the JF case has exactly the same arrangement as the gen for holding on the bezel. JF and gen are interchangable and the gasket is vital for holding it all together. If you are totally stuck I MAY be able to source a genuine gasket / inter-ring. -
Hi, I am really stuck on completing my franken Skyland and just need a Breitling style datewheel to fit on the ETA 7750. I am looking for one of the correct pattern datewheels as fitted to the reps. Can anyone help? I will even buy a complete cheap watch as a donor - non-runner or whatever. PM please.

Sorry, I had forgotten about this. Yes, the gen straps are thicker at the lug end and get thinner along their length.
-
Don't know but I will check as I have 3 gen straps. Will report back.

Excellent thread. This just makes me want to get my 'project' Skyland completed. It's getting a Swiss 7750 + correct-fit hands from a Series 1 rep Chrono Avenger, but I need a Breitling-style datewheel. Does anyone have a correct pattern datewheel, as fitted to the rep Skylands? Please drop me a PM if you can help. thanks.

A Rep dealer's stock loses some of its value!

Sorry - my fault. Please ignore. -
Has anyone seen this acticle - hopefully not one of 'our' dealers? http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2010/apr/27/7000-fake-rolex-watches-are-steamrolled-in-philly/

I have the B&R app on my iphone and it is set as the screen saver. However, as a screen saver it only shows 10:11, but if I go to the app itself it will display the actual time, properly. Is there any way to set this to display the correct time on the screen saver?

Looks nice condition but it's a rep dail, not OEM as the seller seems to claim. Naughty man!

I don't like the Breitling style of deployant either. The regular type (IWC style) protects the strap from bending that would arise with the normal tang buckle, but the Breitling deployant results in a more pronounced bend in your strap that prevents small adjustments being made. It is also very bulky on the wrist due to the way the strap threads through. I have both a rep and a gen deployant but they are different sizes so can't be directly compared. However, there is not a big difference. The logo stamped on my rep is not as crisp as the gen but you would need both together to really see the difference.

I am wearing mine which has the K222 AR treatment and is on a genuine Omega, twin-ridged blue leather band. I have a spare Swiss 7750 and I am intending to buy a set of genuine hands to complete a movement swap. Maybe a gen crown & tube too?? Totally agree that this is the best Omega rep. It lives alongside my gen 2254.50 and Speedy Pro without any problem. The shape, fit and finish of the case on this rep places it in a class of its own. On many reps the rotating bezel is a bit of a let-down, but not in this instance.

That's my next project - I have a gen dial (L though), gen case & crystal, gen CG & gen crown, together with a rep B series caseback and a decorated Swiss 6497 movement. All parts finally gathered up to head off for a coat of the 'black stuff'.

I don't even like Subs but that Snowflake looks just brilliant. I am the same with reps over gensespecially when the reps are frankens. however, older gens seem to give a similsr buzz Recently bought a MKii Speedy and a gen old navitimer - they are getting plenty of wrist time too, along with a Sinn 144 chrono.

+1...on reflection I would take at least 2 - 1 for my Serie Speciale Navi and 1 for my CA.

When I attempt to reply to a topic the text box is covered by the text editing menu. Everything that I type is being created 'behind' the full-width edit menu and I can't see anything until I complete the post. In other words I have to type completly blind as the same happens when I attempt to 'preview' my post. WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG???? Someone please help as this is driving me NUTS. Thanks.

I was looking at this as well. I must say that the pics look impressive and this is a model that I have been attracted to for a while. It sure is pricey and I don't know the gen price but I do have a catalogue somewhere. anyone know anything about these?

That's the spirit; thanks.

Please get the recess correct so that OEM / Jimmy Fu / V's CGs will fit without modification. They will also look proper with the correct spec. I'll take a bunch too.
