My understanding is that you'd need either a service or a new mvmt depending on the amount of water, although I no expert. I'm normally fairly 'risk averse' in life but this time I thought what the hell, in for a penny...
Sorry forgot to say nice collection Fred.
I've flown to a lot countrys EU, N America, Far East wearing a rep with no problems. Only had one and wore it through security, only asked to take it off to go through x-ray in Australia and Hong Kong.
...I've been waiting for my silicon strap for my uPO for a while as I wanted to use it in the gym, cycling etc. Once it arrived I put it on using the spring bars that were already there for the bracelet and so far no 'pop offs'
Anyhoo I went to the gym and thought 'sod it' lets see if this survives the pool.
At this point I want to point out that although the watch was serviced the watchsmith gave no guarantees regarding any water resistance so this was entirely my risk...
So into the pool for 10 lengths (swimming not my strong point!) OK so far...
A quick dip in the jacuzzi, OK so far...
Right now the make or break moment the steam room... absolutely no problems
Not a bit of fogging under the crystal at all after all that, phew!

Looks like I got a good 'un
Great idea for a topic B-T, there are some fantastic photos, here's my two (not so fantastic photos...):
The one and only
My The Zigmeisterfied uPO on a newly acquired silicon strap
I started with a Speedy Pro from EL as I loved the Moon landings and the history that went with it. In fact I loved the watch so much I went for the gen.
I have had -
Omega SMP Bond
Omega Speedy Pro
IWC Portuguese
IWC FA Jones
PAM 196 7750
PAM 005
PO 42mm
All of these went to fund the gen Speedy.
I've got the ones in my sig left. Quality not quantity for me. I don't have a type of watch I go for, the watch needs to be aesthetically pleasing and have something interesting about it, its history, history of the company or it just speaks to me. I've tried to get reps with the same mvmt as the gen and modded them to look as realistic as possible. (The Sekonda was my first proper 'wind up' watch for my 16th)
Yes, my first and favourite rep was a Speedy Pro from EL. I loved the history of the watch - Moon landings NASA tests etc. and gradualy came to accept that although the rep was a great watch in itself, I wanted the gen. I reduced my collection at the same time - quality not quantity and I wanted the reps to have the same mvmt as the gen, hence my most recent purchase a 7753 PAM 196.
Lucky bugger, I got a candle!
Still got my first 'proper' manual wind up watch - SEKONDA, 34mm, white face, roman numerals, made in the USSR! for my 16th. It's survived a lot and has now retired to the watch box.
The clasp was: OME-117ST1579951
the links were: OME-118ST1579 (you'll need two of these as well as the links on the rep are too narrow for the gen clasp to click into).
