I may be back down in SD early summer time, we can do a side by side. Mine should be arriving this week, but from all my research, i'm pretty sure it's very good. SURE, thats all well and good... But as a seller, I would feel a MORAL obligation to compensate the buyer for the loss. And I have compensated buyers for the loss. In fact, tomorrow I am refunding $125 to a buyer for a box that disappeared somewhere between the US and the EU. Even after he accepted the responsibility for the package.

And since I WONT be doing any international shipping in the future, I no longer need to take these hits!

Regardless of your opinion, or mine... The seller can set whatever limits and terms he wants. If the buyer wants the item, he will comply with the terms!

Moral has nothing to do whit it, you are shipping a illegal item over some country's border if you want refound on lost parcels it better have your name on the return sender or invoice..So i no longer ship whit delivery garante its just have it is, sometimes i go to Sweden and send expensive watches to members here then their is garante as it is eu/eu

A sure hit among the youth in England

As much as I hate to say it, US Customs & Border Security are becoming increasingly more invasive & effective in monitoring what enters & leaves the continental United States (CONUS).

Roughly half the packages I have imported from outside the CONUS over the past year have been 'Examined by U.S. Customs & Border Security'

Fortunately, during this time, I have been buying more gen parts (to build frankens) than reps, so this has not been an issue for me. However, a dial I recently sent to Canada (via USPS) was hit with an additional $47 import duty (by the Canadian govt), which was unexpected.

So the reason I am hesitant to ship anything outside the CONUS is because of the growing risk of having the items pinched by the US govt, or having fines levied against me (for the amount of the gen equivalents), or ending up on the US govt's master list that would cause ALL of my future shipments to be inspected for contraband. And that would definitely cramp my style.

And I would guess that other members have similar reasons for limiting the pool of potential buyers to the CONUS.

The terrorist stuff is realy making all customs in all countrys go nasty on us..But if you assure no liability on shipping or customs then their shoud be no problem.

Great to see people whit accses to such facilitys are doing this brilliant projects.

The original "Gold Logo" was not solid gold but rather gold plated. The plating was done by Vacor AG, the same company who did their Pre-V PVD work.

I had thought to make it solid gold, but it seems too costly. I could always start with a 140 case and mod it to fit the Logo movement/dial. Maybe a custom "Logo" dial to fit an auto movement would be best?

it's very simple made by a cabinetmaker.

same wood with original finish and same hinges and magnetic catch like the original box.

the brass and nickel-plated oval-shaped plate with the logo and panerai can be made from my engaver.

the velvet inlay made by a tailoring.

cabinetmaker costs per hour = euro 60,-- ( i'm in discussion )

plate costs engraver complete = euro 70,--

velvet inlay costs = ? ( i have to check )

The funny thing is I tried to get RA to make me one and in the end he concluded he didn't have the time and simply sold me his. I didn't know at the time that it might be a first and a last. I have displayed this watch previously when it came back with the movement swap and relume. I just wanted to come around full circle with the final mod.

The glowing part of CD 2007 is the running second hand (orange lume) and the dots ...5...10...15 dial markers and hands. Even the chrono counter is not supposed to glow. Here is for your reference:

TT, I don't agree with what Slay said and I understand he has been warned a few times, but surely it is wrong to ban Dani, just for suggesting that Slay has a right to say what he likes, however controversial in a hopefully democratic forum. It seems a little political and Dani is a longtime member who has added a lot to this forum. I think that power might have been wielded a little excessively in this case. With great power comes great responsibility.

Undecided yet, we have a couple excellent options. I may go with a referral from Theo, but Rolli's and Ki's look solid as well. I'll PM you before I send it out, waiting for my cyclops and datewheel to show up so that I can send it up to The Zigmeister.

The crappy thing is will the PVD come out MUCH darker since it already has the "PVD" look...obviously going to bead blast away since we need to utilize the same case due to the movement size, otherwise I would be sending out a SS case out for the PVD.

I em also whaiting for cyclop and dw, not sure i will be abel to get the dw.

The pvd when bedblasted i em sure will look great, as it is now the pvd looks awful like black plastic coating..

I think rollis pvd looked great.
