The very mission of this site is to help people get what they pay for,.. I don't see any reason why we expect the trade forum to be exempt from the same message.

In my opinion there is not enough public response to some of what goes on there....

All this 'The market makes the rules' arguments has is being distorted and used in ways that are not in line to our community goals...

For instance if someone is selling a rare piece, or one that has the mods to prove it's worth, and someone makes a uninformed opinion regarding the price,.. then they will be quickly corrected by those in the know..

However if someone is using the used trade forum to make a profit,.. for a piece that is readily available from a dealer for less.. that's seeking to take advantage of ignorance and should be pointed out...

It makes no difference if the watch was 'unworn'.. because a private seller does not offer the same kinds of guarantees that a dealer does,.. so it's a moot point.

Why did Chad's post get so much attention, when we have had 2 PAM's advertized, not once but listed twice now, for $1500 or close to 3 times what the watch cost new.

EDIT (one PAM has a DW upgrade, one a DW and Lume)... but the asking price is 3 times the new cost, and no one says a word (well I did, but it was concerning a $15 freebie...)

On one hand you've got the Humane Society who have contacts at the local animal welfare centres and on the other, you've got the media picking up the story over a month after it happened.

I wouldn't be so sure... I understand that pig owners have to apply suncreams to their backs so they don't get burned. If they were more tollerant of the pain/heat (such as cats are more tollerant of higher temperatures than Humans) there wouldn't be much need to give them the suncream. The pig also moved about a bit, so it was clearly in some manner of discomfort.

The thing that disgusted me most about that, is that the pigs have no choice in what is being done to them. I suspect that if someone was to tattoo someone else, without their permission, then they would receive a stiff penalty. I remember reading on one tattoo forum, where someone once fell asleep at a birthday party, where the birthday boy had got a tattoo machine for their birthday... When they woke up, they had a load of tiny 'bats' tattooed across their shoulder, so in need of coverup work. I'm not sure if they actually pressed charges, but, there was a lot of encouragement for them to do so. The pigs don't even have that luxury...

Pigs are tattooed for identification as part of the normal farming procedure. They are also used by tattoo artists to learn the trade as pig flesh is very similar to human flesh (same subcutaneous fat layer).

Note the emphasis there. While it could be argued that those tattoos would 'identify' an individual pig, the tattoos applied are definitely more 'decorative' than something applied for simple identification, ie: 000001, 000002, 000003 etc etc...

That humans are starving is natural part of nature its the selective way of survival of the strong.You can't save them all but you can try your best to save some.

Was there actual cruelty? If so, the law should have been involved, and I doubt no-one did anything. I still believe it's a hoax and the majority of investigators agree with me.

One thing it's proved is that people there did nothing and people who weren't are up in arms. This reflects local tragedies so perfectly. You'll sign petitions on your blackberries against cruelty to a dog whilst stepping over the homeless guy in the street that could actually do with your help right now.

Have can you compare a homeless person to a dog, the dog did not ask for this..In majority of homeless cases they the homeless have [censored]ed up their own life.

The dog can't choice what life its given we humans breed them and use them as tools and companien theirfor our responiblity.

I help homeless people by giving clothes and helping the salvation army( i think that is US name for the group) they again helps drug addicts and poor people.
