  1. I want to get a PAM just for that lume!! What do you have to do to work that pin? I can't tell from the pic if it's sticking out too far. It looks like it's sunken which would mean you having to make a new one!! Does this at all make the lever tighter? If not, what do you have to do tighten up the lever?? Great work as always R!!
  2. Those look awesome as always...and the shots are great!! Love that acrylic old pearl...with that Ziggification...in some cases they're better than gen...they look as good as the real thing...but they function with proper glow!!
  3. I asked for an Asian GMT movement that can replace a 2836 or 2893 movement. I'm not sure if the hand sizes are the same to be honest...so you should get the hand sizes and the stack order and that will determine what you're getting and if it will work. I've never ordered one yet...but am tempted after getting the pricing.
  4. I haven't seen one with that problem. If you list the problems, and attach a picture of the bezel and ask for a replacement and possibly order one more watch...that might help sweeten getting something done. You've got some bad stuff there...scratched dial ad screwed up bezel? The bezel is hard to get off too...so not easy to replace if I remember correctly.
  5. That looks great!! What would be the cost for one of these??
  6. It's actually not my watch...but SQL_PLs. The Zigmeister obviously did the lume job on it...and a handful of others have had it done as well. I'm scheduled for my turn in January and will post pics when that gets done. Getting the lume and the AR treatment done on this one has generally had the feedback of going quite beyond the gen in this case.
  7. I was waiting to hear the take from our Master of the Flying B! Thanks Andreww and the rest of the posters here for the comments!
  8. I think Andrew's still in the picture as a decent collector. I haven't really been looking at his review posts recently to be honest...but I don't recall any big issues other than the usual "cartel" ones.
  9. It all depends on where you roll. Back in the day in high school, half my school wore gen Rolexes and drove expensive cars. The teacher's parking lot was junk compared to the showroom that was where the students parked. So...sporting a Sub LV would work just fine in my eyes. Indeed. Show us the power of the watch. I'll agree with you there Lani...about the manners. You know that. I'm much more agreeable to answer the PMs I get when the people actually show some class.
  10. Hilarious Lani. Brother steps up to the plate to help those in need...in need of getting L_ _d.
  11. Great intro...welcome aboard. You'll fit in just fine here. You just found yourself the most knowledgeable watch forum around...filled with the coolest members as well. Enjoy the reading...and contribute back your experiences. I would love to see pics of the really bad ones!!
  12. I haven't seen highflyingclive in ages. The rest are kicking around semi to very regularly. Anyways... The ETA 2813 I think is not an ETA but a DG2813...standard CN mechanical movement. Noisy...but decent...and super cheap to replace if it dies ($10 USD). The Navitimer should be an A7750 which is solid, but not really reliable until properly serviced as it is usually dry and dirty. As to the EU shipping...Eurotimez, Precioustime, Homer and some others are the EU dealers of choice these days.
  13. Granted...but it's also evil that the buckle should fall apart and the movement stop this early. This should be dealt with by the collector.
  14. You can try contacting your collector...and sending it back. It will take 2 months, a bit of a hassle...but that should sort things out. It should cost about $15-20 to mail back...no more!! We've all been there...and had to do that.
  15. Welcome aboard. You found the best watch forum around. Read my Noob Guide and hit the ground running.
  16. You have been saved. Read the Noob Guide linked in my signature and that will get you up and running...fast. You too.
  17. Hey R, What's the progress on yours? What case did you end up using? I tried Shoutboxing you at one point on this...but missed a reply if there was one.
  18. It's not the greatest in my books. Here's why: Happy feet on logo OMEGA logo looks too "big" yet skinny The second hand really does suck Minute hand is too short End link shiny portions are raised too much...looks lumpy Bezel insert printing is too fat Pearl is too large (this will likely affect the newer "high end" rep as well) The site is likely an overpriced scam site
  19. First?? Rookie! The fun begins with >1. I can't describe how awesome it is to raise a kid. Unbelieveable...and scary at how much impact you have on their lives, how they behave, how they form their view of the world around them...it's an incredible responsibility but rewarding in so many ways that can't be described in words. ...and you'll think it's a lot of work and stress now...but I really do mean it when I say you have no idea how easy you have it now with 1 if you ever have more than 1. If you have the opportunity to take parental leave...as a dad... I can't recommend it enough. I took >6 months off each for all of my kids, and the bond you get with your child and the confidence you'll get as a parent I guarantee are something you will never get otherwise...and it means your wife will owe you one BIG, and you can buy more watches.
  20. ...and there was a thread asking if the Skyland will become a classic. Of course it will...look at it.
  21. Welcome aboard. Lots of the Admin/Mod team are Aussies...you'll have fun here. Read the Noob Guide linked in my Sig to help get you started.
  22. Keep me posted...if they turn out, I would be interested in purchasing one!!
  23. Very good and accurate reply! Well done. For more info...read the Noob Guide linked in my Signature. That will help you get up and running quickly.
  24. Wow...you've got a beautifully well rounded collection that's for sure. As to the pics...they are large sized images which is why they are having problems loading (4000 x 3000). In a photo program (which ever one) try shrinking them down to 800 x 600 and that should speed things up immensely. If you delete the old images editing your post, and repost the reduced images, that should help immensely. Nice to see!! Thanks.
