  1. Wow...first time for everything. I guess the thing is heading back to China then for whatever reason. He tracks it and sees it doesn't get to you...that's the service you want. Crap...bummer man!
  2. Holy CRAP!!!! That's amazing. I laugh being in Ontario now...when I look at ski conditions here and they are happy to have a 60cm base. Back in the Rockies, I remember seeing 30' trees in the backcountry covered up to within a couple feet of their tips and skiing beside these...not too close as you know!!
  3. Seriously. I've been watching a lot of "intro" threads and stuff, and the amount of help and support to Noobs I'm seeing...from both Senior members and Noobs is awesome and great to see. I just posted a question to help solve a problem I was having in the Breitling section...and within 6 hrs...boom...a solid answer from Rolexman and Andrwew complete with description and labelled pictures. How great is that?
  4. Yup...we're all waiting for a reliable secs@6...and it's been a long wait. Many a smoking hot watch have been taken off the "Must Buy" list because of this movement. The options for gold are tricky. There are no readily available solid gold reps...as the cost means these are essentially custom one-off projects. Scam sites will advertise some as solid gold...don't believe it. The other option is to go the "franken" route which takes genuine parts and mixes them with expensive high end rep parts and makes a Frankenstein watch. Daytona's are popular projects to build...using Zenith movements...which require special cases to fit them...special parts, etc...making an extremely accurate one for about $3,000 - $4,000!! Mind you...the movement in this case will be a SOLID amazing movement. As to how long they'll last...tough call as your type of wear, body chemistry, climate will all affect this. Some say months, some say years...some say a bunch of years! Search for various gold posts and you'll find out other's experiences.
  5. Hey Andreww, From AJS' tutorial, his didn't seem to have this retainer ring screw issue that Rolexman pointed out. I don't have time to work on it now...but it looks like that might be the problem. Upon closer examination, I did note that the movement was catching at the chrono pusher side, but I couldn't see what it was catching on. Removing the ring first if I can will hopefully solve it. I'll post back results and pics when I get it done. Thanks!!
  6. Thanks for the tip. I haven't worked on one with screws holding the retainer ring before. I think that is the problem. I'll try it tonight and let you know. That pic is very helpful!!
  7. Welcome aboard. You found the best watch forum around with some oustanding writers, photographers, and gen and rep experts. This should fill the void where your old forum is gone. Read, search, learn, share and have fun. That's what the game is all about!
  8. You do have some reps!! Welcome aboard. With what you have, I hope you don't just get information here...but provide some as well!! Thanks for starting on the right path and sharing your collection. It looks awesome. Nice pics too!!
  9. You found yourself the best and coolest watch forum around. We have some of the best, and most informative posts, writers and photographers around...including the gen forums. You may have stumbled ont he site...but with Eurotimez, you didn't stumble on a collector/dealer. The dealers recommended on this site are recommended after an established track record of providing reasonable pricing, quality product and customer support. So you can buy with a reasonable amount of confidence. Remember...it's an illegal counterfeit market based in China...so there is always risk. Read my Noob Guide pinned in the Introductions section. It WILL help you get up and running quickly and save you MONTHS of searching for info. Read the Breitling guide for reviews on the BCE (Chronomat Evo). The one that Chris (Eurotimez) supplies is the same as what the other collectors can get so the reviews will apply (it's great quality). Read, search, learn, share. That's what it's about...and have fun.
  10. The really catchy one where you think you have more than 2 wrists. You should read one of the Noob posts. Noob to here...but not to watches as the guy has over 400 in a single brand line...not counting the other stuff.
  11. These both pop up every now and then...and the Flat 6 is readily had from most of the collectors here. Look up a review as they appear to be a pretty decent rep.
  12. Interesting shot. How high do the snowbanks get and do they ever cave in? That is quite beautiful. I used to live in Chinook country so we would go through periods of seeing waist high snow in the morning, and walking home in shorts and a long sleeved shirt in the afternoon amidst the steaming melting snow.
  13. You should do up a busted gens post. That would be interesting to see and make us feel proud of the quality of gens you can get. As to raising an apocalypse...I'm pretty easy going as long as a I see progress. I like to be calm, reserved, and open to suggestion...unless I see things are not improving...but I like to give people the chance first. I used to have a saying (I've mellowed since) that if you're square with me, I'll bend over backwards to help you...but if I find out you're screwing me even in the slightest with bad intent, I'll make it my life's mission to bring you, your family and your friends down, and smile while I'm doing it. I'm not so harsh anymore...
  14. Glad to hear things got sorted out. A free deployment is a nice bonus (do I know how to call it or what?). As to the datewheel alignment...this is not unusual for lots of gens if you look close.
  15. No sweat...you're doing fine!! I'm a little confused over what you want. Does your friend have 2 of the Antares dials and he wants to sell one, or does he want to find another one, or does he want to find another one that will fit into a Submariner case? The issue is likely more the diameter of the case you want to fit things into. You have to start off with what your priority is: The use of a particular dial...which leads to finding a case and movement that will fit The use of a particular case first and finding a dial and movement that will fit Or finally, the use of a particular movement first, and finding a dial and case that will fit Some of the Sub cases for example, have nasty wokky rehaut...others are pretty bang on. Depending on which case you are using will determine which movement you require and which dial will fit. Sometimes you can shave down the diameter of a dial to make one fit in another while other times you can securely mount a smaller dial onto the movement and have a gap between dial and case if the dial is too small.
  16. Hi, Ok...I've decased a few IWCs, Omegas, Rolexes, etc...but never a Breitling. I got my improved dial from Watchstation and was going to do a dial swap, but after doing the following: Set time to noon Pull out stem to WINDING position as per The Zigmeister recommendation Admire beautiful Breitling engraving of the cheap, noisy rotor Remove 3 movement holder screws and holder tabs attempt to turn case onto casing pad... ...NO DICE. The movement and dial held to the holder drops out to the point where the rotor is level with the caseback gasket...but stops. I can't get it to budge beyond that. I looked at the movement holder and there look to be big notches where the chrono pushers engage so those shouldn't be catching, and the chrono pushers look to be free from the case and movement. Am I missing something?? Is there are another way to get the movement out? I know on my Noobmariner, the movement holder was a tricky bugger to get back in if the angle wasn't just right...but here, I've tried nudging the movement holder while holding the thing upside down to no success. I looked at Ajoesmith's A7750 swap tutorial and things look pretty identical...so I'm a bit confused. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
  17. Welcome aboard Dan. You just found yourself the "coolest" forum with the most knowledgeable watch folks around. RWG is predominantly a watch forum...and not just a rep forum...so I think you just found yourself a place you will feel very comfortable in. If you're into replica watches, the forum or want to learn about watch movements, maintenance, upgrading, etc...read my Noob Guide which is pinned at the top of the Introductions/Rules/Support section. The Breitling section will have information on dials and the "Watches" section is where you can post WTB topics or browse for sale posts. As to Enicars, you should definitely start looking into the Rolex Datejust, Omega Aqua Terra and Omega Railmasters replicas. The collectors we generally recommend here have some interesting pieces along that "theme". Read, search, learn, have fun...and if you find the place useful, contribute back your experiences and expertise to make the forum lively, and possibly consider upgrading your membership to a paid subscription down the line to ensure this fantastic resource is available at your fingertips when you want/need it.
  18. It still hasn't come in??? Crazy...this is the first I've heard of this in Canada...seriously!! That is a long time...weird.
  19. Welcome aboard to Team Canuck. There are some great posters and members here from Ontario so you're not alone...yours truly among them. You'll find with comfort that we don't have any of the customs problems bringing reps into Canada that anywhere else on the planet seems to have...so pick you're collector with wreckless abandon...or read my Noob Guide pinned in the Intros section for more detailed info.
  20. Welcome aboard. You found the coolest and most knowledgeable forum around. You have watch questions? You'll probably find the answers you need here. Look up my Noob Guide pinned in the Intros section to hit the ground running.
  21. The second hand should have a pin in it you have to stick into the cannon pinion. I have to use a loupe to do this...my eyes aren't that good to do it without magnification. I stick on some Rodico to lift up the hand and then flick it down into the column with a toothpick, plastic tweezers, hand set tool bit, etc.
  22. Those crappy CN rep makers screwed up the dial printing though. If you'll note, the days of the week are in French, but the months are in English. When will they get a simple thing like this corrected? I would be up for the Ultimate release in PVD when it comes out next month.
  23. It sucks anyways...it's neither black, nor a diver...nor beat up.
