  1. I'd suggest a wanted ad for an eta movement ring, then find someone with a small lathe to turn down the OD if required. The 2824 movt is essentially the same fitting as the 2892/2500. A 2836 is slightly deeper due to the day function parts. I'm with FxrAndy though, that would have made a bloody nice Franken Omega
  2. I think there was a pvd stainless version early on. The logo on mine looks fine, I near some people have paint stripped it out and reprinted it to a darker grey
  3. They look great in person. Nice black ceramic and titanium pushers.
  4. Go for the Skyland.. the bentley's are cool in pics but pretty damm gaudy in person especially the polished ones. Also the rotating inner bezel isn't replicated accurately, so the whole bezel, crystal and inner bezel all turn at once.. so it'll never be water proof. If you really want the Bentley the GT is a better bet, the 6.75 date mechanism is pretty damm complex for a rep.
  5. I guess you have the decide whether the paypal risk is worth while in increased sales. @ItsAboutTime.. no one is saying every newer member is causing problem, I presume you are here for here right reasons and understand what you're getting yourself into, but this is becoming a real issue for many dealers, and it is threatening the hobby as we know it. Ultimately it will force up prices for us all as it's the only way the dealers can insure themselves against the losses.
  6. I've never seen a rep Lange with a big date that big, so I'm going to say Gen. Maybe the picture is deceptive though. I'm going to say gen for the Glasshutte, and also the Omega (or a bloody nice franken), and I'm really not sure on the Rolex..
  7. I can't speak for the US but I took my full 8 watch box on domestic here in New Zealand a few weeks back.. nobody at X-ray batted an eye lid.. however they don't like a cluster of watches all bundled together I've noticed.
  8. Literally any watch parts dealer sells o ring selections for only a few dollars. There are hundreds on eBay or any auction site. Otherwise watchbitz is a supporter here
  9. The real watcheden is .net, are these the same people?
  10. Drive a good car, have a big house, boat, clothes, big watch... same response for the type who will never afford any of them.. "compensating"... Ignore them.
  11. Maybe if you have access to the right gear, but it's not something you'll find just anywhere. It's hard to even ship plating chemicals due to their hazardousness. I never buy gold reps as I've never seen one that really laster long term, although I hear some of the latest ones are getting reasonable.
  12. Thinking out loud here.. I wonder if a torx screw head (the head not the driver) would fit and could be turned down on a lathe to make a tool, it's the only thing I can think of that has that shape and doesn't need to be custom made.
  13. I don't know the dealer, but it looks like a pretty tidy eta based rep. Gold will only be plated so isn't going to last forever. Price should be in the $250 to $400 range.
  14. Dials are made from brass, so won't be rust. Looks likes it's meant to be like that. Also the yellow lume points to a gold watch
  15. Its probably from a gold or two tone watch.
  16. Generally these are held in with clear epoxy, but it's possible they could be threaded. A good way to remove these would be to make a round piece of rod with the diameter of the inside of the tube with a larger collar at the end, fit this through the tube from inside and pull. Holding the case in a vise on a drill press and grabbing the rod with the chuck lets you pull in a very controlled direction.
  17. An ultra sonic clean does wonders for removing factory goop left over from polishing and brushing the bracelet. Use hot water and a detergent, Simple Green works really well, but ordinary washing up liquid is also very effective. Remove the bracelet and move it around every minute or so. It's amazing how much dirt comes out sometimes, especially a worn bracelet. (never ultra sonic the whole watch though, it can push water past the o-rings and the detergent will dry them) Just remember what ever lube you use it going to end up on your skin contoniously, so don't use anything toxic. I'm not normally that concerned about all the "toxic paranoia" but you're going to be constantly exposed this what ever you use. That means no mineral oil, and I'd be careful or bike chain lubes unless you're pretty clear about the contents. Also be careful of teflon lubes, the teflon itself is fine, but the compound used to make is liquid can be very toxic.
  18. Theres a load of updates on RG, he's fine, it was a mass seizure of US registered domains, he'll have a new domain setup within hours..
  19. Reading over the legal docs it looks like a huge list of replica domains got taken down, 97 in fact. Mostly the crap sellers but Silix prime and Sino are also gone. Trusty's old one is also mentioned but his new one seems fine.
  20. Looks like Puretimes current domain got seized by Hermes.. Hopefully he's ok and it's just the domain.
  21. The quality is pretty good, not worth buying the genuine in my opinion
  22. There's a nice bonus to us of course.. Loads of movements and parts floating around
  23. I always loved this model.. Such a shame the rep movement is rubbish, very jealous of your genuine
