  1. I am sorry to hear this. It is odd as no one else has reported this with the dozens that have been sold. Could it be the temperature or humidity in Bali? Did you buy all the watches from the same dealer? Well, I guess it is just another reason to take my time and wait to see what MBK's looks like.
  2. Doc- Thanks for the info. I guess I will have to be patient.
  3. Actually I think rep buying is getting better - not worse. Multiple factories are making the same watch. Exclusives are getting shorter not longer. And dealers are getting access to previous exclusives sooner not later. We actually are seeing prices come down on some of the newer models (Skyland) and prices are coming down on the older higher end models as demand wanes as well. And if they are not it is because there is enough demand at that price (or plain old very little inventory) and if you don't like the price don't buy it. If the price has gone up on an older watch and you want it and you are unwilling to pay it - be patient and buy it in the secondary market.
  4. Samurai- Great info. I had no idea there were two versions. Is the implication with the 21k that you can swap it out for Swiss? Do you have any idea if the aesthetics are as good on the cheaper one. I think you know where I am going with this one.
  5. You could buy a Fiddy. Michael is notorious for picking a very high price and waiting for as long as it takes. He has had the hands for almost a year now. He has had those compasses for years. In reality he gets far fewer items since he got busted by Panerai and so he is not in a huge rush to sell what he has.
  6. You have to love it when someone takes the dealer price and 2-3x it. Kind of like the $10,000 cup of coffee. It only takes one.
  7. Yeah, that is pretty much the going rate for a Fiddy. Don't we all wish we bought one when they were $10,000.
  8. I am in agreement with what folks have said above. At that price and with an A T dial and arrow PR hand it is probably a safe bet. I would also guess it goes up in value. Box and papers would be nice. I would point out one issue which is always the case with PVD watches, Presumably the PVD is in good shape so you are going to have to be extra careful when wearing it as you can always polish out an SS ding but not a PVD scratch. Of course this only matters if you ever think you will sell it later on in life. I do love the watch and best of luck. If I had the money it is one of 2-3 PAM's which would be at the top of my list.
  9. You guys make me laugh. He has been on vacation.
  10. Take a look at this loop. It should help. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=80145
  11. You can think what you want aesthetically but I am betting this is the only watch of Rolex's new crop that will be worth "Red Sub" type values as the first year of production of the 44mm Deep Sea. But you will have to wait 30 years.
  12. You guys who can't get back on - perhaps you should ask yourself if you have done anything to piss off Admin. Seriously, I just tried it and it is working on my computer.
  13. Somehow, I knew Sylar would have that baby up and running sooner rather than later.
  14. I am just grateful that Rolex finally came out with a "man-size" watch. None of this girly-man 37-40mm stuff.
  15. JohnG- Cut it out. RG will be back. They had recently moved servers, etc. It probably doesn't help that Sylar is travelling but it should be back up shortly. And I know from where that other forum comes from.
  16. Very nice example. I am sure most people know but for those who don't Moser is the predecessor/partner to IWC. There are a few folks on ebay who specialize in making these.
  17. The mystery continues. As I look at it again I do have to say the finish on the outer edges looks good and it appears that the crown guard lever likely sits very close to the cg case. But I have had more than a dozen Jimmy's and none ever needed modification against the case (other than certain DSN's). I guess there is one other possiblity. Jimmy did not make all his cg's in one batch. I only know this because I remember trying to get him to do another round of them and he told me that it wasn't possible since the original vendor went out of business after his second or third round.
  18. The biggest issue with Jimmy's today is that there are many bastardized versions around mixing levers, pins and cg cases. I never thought we would have to worry about franken cg's.
  19. T- Just give Spitzer a call. I suspect he can hook you up.
  20. I didn't read the loop but the answer is still - there is none.
  21. I forgot to add. If the holes don't line up and you have a standard 63 case (not DSN) than is a strong indicator against it being a Jimmy. If it is a DSN case all bets are off. Here is the 63 I am wearing right now and the cg lines up perfectly.
  22. I have the same feeling with mine. I was going to look around and maybe check out the price of a gen Chopard. Is the lug width 22 or 23mm? I tried a standard 24mm PAM strap and it didn't fit.
  23. Thanks for the info guys. Now I have got to buy it.
