  1. Dadog- Congrats. When T, Enzo VDB, etc. show up it is usually hopeless. They all have clients who will pay any price. With the professionals and their clients scooping up everything that comes up these prices will only continue to escalate so you got yourself a good deal. - Kruz
  2. R- Thanks for posting this. I have been eager to see this one.
  3. Any sense on timing of the Ultimate? I am increasingly loving this watch.
  4. And I would be remiss if I didn't add another Finepics PVD :
  5. Have you tried the dealer you bought the original watch from? They are usually sympathetic. Alternatively, load the request on to your next watch order. You may very well decide who to order from based on who can provide the screw.
  6. When the bracelet is the biggest issue that will be a great day.
  7. Thanks much for the comparison. And I guess the gen date wheel should look more recessed since it has the usual 2894 plate above the datewheel holding the cyclops. It is a great rep.
  8. Is it possible he asked what you paid because he was just curious what you paid? If he is an old watch guy he may well have simply wanted to know. But for anyone who is really interested and knowledgeable the person could have noticed any number of things that set his mind spinning. This person is a watch guy with multiple AP's. Although the rep is really good there are real finish differences. I have an ancient RO and the brushing is still noticeably better, the screws sit better on the bezel, etc. 99.9% of the world would never notice the layout of the crown and pushers. But for the .1% of owners who care enough about AP's to read or just know about movements and know it is a module movement the crown pusher layout is very noticeable. So you never know. But you did the right thing immediately telling him it was a rep.
  9. I might also suggest folks who want them and didn't get them post a WTB for the specific dial they want. As I understand it the dials were sold in groups of three and I am doubtful that everyone is using all three.
  10. I believe the term of art is unanimous.
  11. Wow. Fabulous review and a pleasure to read. At last By-Tor and Pug have company. Definitely "pinnable".
  12. J- Congrats on a very nicely done project. Wear that one well. There is something fabulous about the Base watches. Simplicity is truth (or something like that ). I suspect it is a wonderful complement to some of your other stuff.
  13. Ubi- The fascination is that Rolex finally made a watch that the 44mm guys will wear.
  14. Rolli- That is fabulous that you are going to offer this to others. Can't wait to hear about it. Still "slobbering" over the Slob. That is another of your greatest projects. - Kruz
  15. Wow, fabulous piece. I did not know this one existed in gold. Yours came out beautifully. Really nothing else to say other than "wear it well".
  16. Based on the outcome - better girlfriend and 4 new gens I think congratulations are in order.
  17. I think that the lack of susequent versions of this particular watch is more a function of factory or dealer concerns over demand and pricing. Factories have made subsequent wonderful Omega reps including the PO's. They were the new it watch and with a gen price in the $3,000 price range they could demand better prices. How much can you charge for a rep of a watch that is readily available for well under $2,000. Many of the older Omega Seamasters sell closer to $1,000.
  18. I am always happy to see leaders of the younger generation (irrespective of whether I like their music, acting or whatever) wearing the haute horologie watches. Us older folks can remember when people simply wanted the convenience of a swatch or quartz watch.
  19. Sorry about that. Too many syllables for me. But now it is fixed. And it is wacko. But after a couple of gens you have to mix it up. You would be surprised at how many folks mix and match. And yeah even some of those "purists" on Risti.
