  1. Welcome back Vic.. I received last week a Limited Edition Simona Ammo strap and LOVE IT. Amazing smell and GREAT vintage mustardy colour and style... VERY expensive (145 euros) but well worth it. I opened the holes myself and put a Wojtecki sub buckle to it.. Extremely soft and 5mm thick. Holes on Simona's straps are a big negative.. Most of the time the holes are crooked and look bad in otherwise nice leather straps. Sometimes the stitching is not so good as well... as Savage said because she doesn't of course made the straps herself and her sewing machine operator is a bit sloppy Here are some quick wristshots of the strap (proper post when I will have more time )
  2. I think it will be great.. Since it is an OEM movement I would say display caseback..
  3. Jay I think you want display back because both 'open' and 'display' are the same thing. Subconcious... You have to go with Open
  4. Thanks guys.. here are few more shots I got this morning of my dark tan and light tan ammo style Light tan:
  5. Thanks my friend.. here is another with flash but still you should see the colour without flash Thanks K
  6. Finished this strap last week.. I really like the old look and the stained leather. More photos tomorrow under the sunlight
  7. Well you have a point there.. country and their behaviour to animals should be a parameter to the whole story. But then again if this exhibition was happening in UK for example no gallery would have allowded that kind of 'exhibit'. I am sure if the same thing happened in Greece with no cruelty laws and stray dogs and cats everywhere as well, someone would have done something
  8. I know J.. I am a conceptual artist myself exhibiting in galleries.. I can somehow understand his point of view.. Sometimes artists are going to extreme measures to show their point. Other times they just try to shock to attract attention to their names. Conceptual art has proven that many times in the past. It seems he succeded whatever was his intention. Bad publicity is still a publicity through the myriads of artists out there. Back to the visitors.. except the shocking.. they should have had a reaction. Intelectual people should also REACT and not just follow and eat whatever they feed them like sheep. They should have done something if they thought the act was cruel. But unfortunately a big majority of the people going to art galleries are just that.. sheep
  9. I just read the first page of the thread but this comment by Dani just says it all.
  10. Great collection Simon.. Glad I helped a bit with the straps and buckles
  11. I agree.. that's a collectable strap you got there. Don't do it.
  12. The more I see the dial the more I think that M is right. It is just that it is done very well that bothers me... Either way if we cannot define gen or rep you will have a nice rep if you have not paid a fortune to get it.
  13. Dial looks nice but I wouldn't say easily gen just from the photos. If I had to bet I would say 70% gen 30% rep. Edit.. Now that I see it again I would make it 60/40. Something doesn't look right in this dial.. dont know what.. and I have seen many gen dials
  14. Sorry for your loss Maciek. Love animals and consider them as well family.
  15. Here is my entrance.. This is the photo I got the most compliments for in the forum for both watch, strap and combo so I had to put it. but I personally love this one as a photo (the lighting, the lume, the reflections etc etc) :
  16. Yes that's how they look but you cannot judge from the existing photos. We have to see better ones..
  17. From a gen owner point of view unfortunately Panerai moves to a higher level of customer clientelle which many normal collectors will not afford to follow. The new watches are very nice contemporary models away from the historic heritage of the brand. For the rep community I think that now with the Inhouse movements and the complicated fixtures on the dials etc etc.. it will be difficult for the rep makers to keep up.

  20. V

    My project pams

It is not Pre-V. It is normal H series. Same as the Pre-V
  21. Excellent thread Aaron.... I am personally quite happy with the watches i have but it is nice to see people appreciating the effort of other members collections
  22. Ahhh.. RBJ again. The famous 'charged' blowing off dust from the dial
  23. Thanks a lot guys for your kind words.. I couldn't agree more.. But I want to wear this strap with my 112 as well and the black with yellow stitching won't look good on the 112. But who knows? There is always the possibility of restitching in yellow when I will get bored of it
