  1. I start my week making straps and wearing my 112 with my Metta strap Last nights photo :
  2. I have thought about PAVs.. but to be honest although I am not very fond of Elliot his MP PAV straps are as good as the original ones... and since i can provide the logo buckles myself I cannot see much difference between the old and new ones (both made in the same place with the same hide) I have the 91 and the 99 which I love but THIS one is something else.
  3. Sorry guys.. this was a rare opportunity of me owning my perfect strap. The specific strap is definately NOT for sale and I definately do not have any more leather so this was just two straps and that's it.
  4. Well I am extremely happy.. in my Strapaholic world THE best strap is in my hands. You all know that my favourite of all the straps in my collection was the Metta made by Aaron more than 1,5 year ago. THis leather for me is THE ultimate hide.. As vintage as it gets (220 years old) beautiful and my favourite colour and texture and the smell... mm the smell. You must have one to understand what I am talking about. Thanks to a friend I had the opportunity to CUSTOM made 2 straps from this hide. Yes I had the raw hide in my house and the Honour, and Pleasure to make the two straps. One for me and one for him. And the house was smelling of the bottom of the ocean as my wife said The result? I will let you judge about that.. I just loved the idea of working with my favourite hide to create a unique personal strap. I will not post photos of his strap (which btw is very different than mine) because I want him to have the pleasure, but I am sure you will get tired in the next weeks of seeing mine. 150/80 - 24/24 - Dark brown stitching - One thick fixed keeper - Sewn-in polished Logo buckle The problem now is how can I keep collecting straps if this is the ULTIMATE strap I could ever possible think of wearing? Please don't ask me if I can make you one... Unfortunately I can't. This was once in a lifetime and it happened because of the other member. Nothing to do with me.
  5. Hahahah.. that was funny.. exactly what I thought when he replied that
  6. I don't mind about the scratches.. My 112 is already full of them.. I prefer the springbars because I can change the straps faster
  7. Buy springbars from River.. Best and easiest way if you change straps daily (or 3 times a day)
  8. I do.. and you should have said a close number and not the exact. It is the 1 in 1500 chances that made me think about the email.. New contest.. find the Serial number on Maikel's OEM 112 ...
  9. Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy... that's not fair for the others You had to guess no try and find an email I have sent you stating the Serial I don't think you qualify for the gift.. You cheated
  10. Yeap.. this the correct answer to Nr 1 question... The photo is of the famous 'Garibaldi ship'. A lot of speculation about the Pams 'aboard' Some say they are fakes.. I personally believe some of them prototypes made for fun by various OEM Panerai parts laying around.. others production models probably made outside the normal production numbers? unauthorised? Some interesting watches there.. A gold 201/A a destro 201/A a 'Flavor Flav' 49 with pink indexes !!!! and of course some Vintages that simply CANNOT be fake. More details here on the original post: http://www.network54.com/Forum/265104/thre...aribaldi%20ship About question Nr 2 no one has been even close to my Serial Nr. KEEP THE GUESSES COMING
  11. Well the first question can only be answered from very true Panerai enthusiasts.. (not Tanfo.. he only has the biggest collection not the most knowledge in the history of Panerai ) I know 4-5 persons who may be able to reply to it.. Let them check the thread and we'll see. Question Nr 2.. No I have never posted a photo of my serial number. Which means it is pure luck. At least to make a little bit more easy I will say it an I series 112 with only 1500 examples.. Which means the 2687 is comletely wrong
  12. Well.. it has been a long time since a nice panerai competition / giveaway... There are two questions... 1st is knowledge and 2nd is luck. The one who answers both correctly (in the second one if you are close enough I will consider it correct) will get a surprise strap. 1st: What is this ship in the following photo? (and I do not mean the name of the ship ) 2nd: What Serial Nr. has my OEM Panerai 112 ? GOOD LUCK P.S. In case Imageshack is not working here is the photo of the ship attached:
  13. I didn't knew for what exact watch I was building the odd 25/20 strap (to fit the original buckle came with this watch) Me thinks it looks very very nice
  14. Yeap.. I agree.. i do prefer better the burgundy one for my 112 and the brown for my Ferrari
  15. I am wearing this for the beginning of the week
  16. Of course Simon.. no AR whatsoever.. So bazonkers if you want to LEARN you stay at RWG and forget the other forums
  17. I forgot about this strap.. Philipe did a GREAT job on the patina.. the strap is originally a light/medium tan.
