Place: Heeren Village (used to be Marché) next to HMV Orchard. Building is opposite Cathay Cineleisure Somerset, just across the street. Date: Friday, 2 February 2007 Time: 7.30 pm (GMT +8 , Singapore Time) You can reply on this thread to indicate participations or just drop by on that day. I would be glad to meet up with fellow rep collectors. Bring along your collections if you wish. So far only 2 persons are confirmed the attendance. BTW, I can be identified by Orange PO 42.5mm with orange checkered shirt and the second person is azgjav, he can be identified by his Oakley large bag.

Andrew & Josh's Response To The Little White Lies Thread...
takashi replied to trustywatchguy's topic in General Discussion
Well. For the benefits of all, agreeing with certain terms/jargon in the replica world would be necessary and definitely it's something which not only the dealers but also the buyers need to agree on. Yes, without doubt it is something pretty much a utopia. When this have happened, it will take quite some time and would not happen overnight. More or less all the questionable terms has been raised. Why don't we focus on correcting those mistakes. May I suggest posting those debatable terms as pinned post? We have to consider also that we are not the only customers. Perhaps correcting those mistakes may affect sales. A few so called white lies that I have spotted from the previous thread: 1. Swiss ETA2892 means Asian copy of ETA2892 that has different parts to the genuine Swiss ETA2892 (think Seagull, or Asian 7750 vs ETA7750). 2. Syntethic/Genuine Sapphire vs Mineral Glass. 3. Lemania/Venus copy vs Seagull ST19. BTW, not only the 2 dealers on the spotlight have made mistakes there are other dealers too but not all dealers. Another point to sum it up is after sales service. For example, taking care of the customers when watch go bust or seized by customs and having very smooth communication. I think these are pretty important points too. IMHO, there are many factors affecting one's purchase. Let's take for example; price point... This may(not) cover the white lies even more. The bottom line is it's up to individual whether to buy from the selected dealer. OT: I have confirmed the existence of MBW shop in Thailand MBK shopping centre. It is not a myth. -
Judging by the dial gap, the genuine case may be smaller in size. Also the 300M on the caseback is the dead giveaway. The model number of E19xxx is also wrong. This one should use Calibre 17.

I received numerous PM for this one too. I guess it's becoming like a legendary SMP Pro from the closed down factory.

How about the 7 days power reserve movement? I am highly doubtful that this watch will be replicated properly.
-
That was my project before I found the gen dial for my PO. It turns out pretty good. I believe a few other members did the same. Dial feet for 2836 is the same too.
-
It is under his Omega PO review. If I remember correctly, no picture given but it's pretty self explanatory. Sorry that I don't have the link. You may wish to view his signature. Sometimes he links it from there or you can search this forum. It's Omega 4th gen review.

Anyone Else Have A "tweener" Wrist For A Strap
takashi replied to crystalcranium's topic in General Discussion
It depends on what kind of strap and watch you are wearing. Breitling genuine calf strap and rubber strap will fit my wrist well when paired to a Navi but not to an Avenger. In the case of PAM strap, let's take for example an MPXI strap and GeF strap. MPXI strap has closer and more hole counts and it will fit well to my wrist. However, the GeF strap has lesser number of holes and the distance between holes are further. Therefore I've experienced the same problem as you. -
Engraving is correct on 42.5mm PO. Anyway, U can use a pliers to slightly bend the clasp as ByTor described. Here is the genuine clasp (90USD from ofrei, bracelet number 952) vs 4th gen rep clasp. The genuine will fit like charm as you can see from the picture.

Name This Watch And Get An A For The Day

looks like a chrono model to me (2 extra pushers). -
Anyone Notice Omega Announced Their First In-house Movement?
takashi replied to TomBombadil's topic in The Omega Area
FYI, a Seiko Spring Drive movement has a power reserve of 72 hours, 28.800 bph and guaranteed accuracy of +/- 1 sec per day. Most importantly, it is assembled by hand too. -
Adjusted To 5 Positions....perhaps A Stupid Question
takashi replied to crystalcranium's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Nope. The actual 5 positions testing is as follow: the movement will be tested in all 5 positions (COSC standard) with varying temperature. They would then average the result to get the best adjustment. That's why they certified as -4/+6 secs per day. Anyway, this is done without the dial, hands, etc (in the case of COSC, only the movement involved). To get exact 0 sec is nearly impossible. -
Adjusted To 5 Positions....perhaps A Stupid Question
takashi replied to crystalcranium's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Similar method as you. It's easier if the movement has hack function so that I can sync it with internet time. Usually I adjust it only in 1 position (i.e: flat on a table). Usually I will get +/- 5 seconds result per day (I am happy with this). Proper adjustment should be done using timing machine. -

I can confirm this that the dial feet for Co-Axial calibre 2500/ ETA 2824-2/1/ ETA2892-A2 are all the same. In the case of ETA7750 vs Asian 7750 (hi beat, low beat), the dial feet position is the same too. So will genuine SMP/PO dial fits on the rep? Answer is YES it will. 2 examples below:
-
Another candidate worth considering is any Rolex with MOP dial ladies size.

When Will They Make A “real Asian 7753” Rep?
takashi replied to fredrik m's topic in General Discussion
crystalcranium has made really good points. If I am not mistaken ETA7753 has 2 extra jewel counts as opposed to ETA7750. -
I paid 20USD for a genuine IWC buckle (nonetheless the price of the buckle vs deployant is day and night).

Little White Lies We're Supposed To Tolerate?
takashi replied to Pugwash's topic in General Discussion
@Pug: indeed that his section is emptied. However, due to numerous errors in his listings, we decided to remove the dealers status. He is then voluntarily left the forum. Kudos to him that he still provided after sales service eventhough his section has been removed. That was my point. However, the blue PO is not the only reasons why his section is removed. -
uziuzi, you're correct about the datefont and AR coating. I will try to obtain the genuine Kevlar strap for this model. I am expecting to be in 300USD range with deployant clasp <--- very expensive in common Swiss Made watch (i.e: Breitling, Panerai, etc.)
-
As mentioned above. Short minute hands, wrong datefont and non-AR coated crystal is the biggest giveaway. If you have the chance to hold the genuine and have the rep, compare them in terms of movement winding sound. The genuine is using Pellaton winding system while the rep is normal ETA2824-2 ball bearing rotor.
-
I would be glad to jump on to the bandwagon when the rep of this watch with proper movement (7750 Asian or Swiss) and cosmetically accurate enough is available.

Little White Lies We're Supposed To Tolerate?
takashi replied to Pugwash's topic in General Discussion
Just to clear up some matters. We did not ask Sash to close his section. He did it voluntarily. Indeed his section was hidden from the view of the public and eventually all his listings are deleted. The admin has exchanged PM with him (I am not personally involved in this PM exchange) and he agreed to correct the mistakes. In other words, he has been given a few chances to correct his listings inclusive pictures. Not only with regards to the blue PO, there are a couple more listings which have issues (incl. Swiss ETA 2892 on Frank Muller Casablanca rep and so on as Pugwash described). However, after the thread deletion, he decided not to sell on RWI again. He stands by his product by offering after sales service even after he left. He does indeed leave a very good impression on my side as I have previously dealt with him personally. As for Trevor section, it's also under scrutiny at the moment. It's being suspended until he answered a few of the questions including the Daytona PN with Auto movement (yes I did got one too). He did deliver the goods but the way he presented his listings is not good. I hope this will clarify the matter. -
