  1. Looks excellent, I'm impressed, great value for the money!, will this directly take an ETA if the DG4813 is to crap out later. Assume the hands would be different?
  2. Love that watch, classic, its both dressy and sporty. Chronos are nice when the arent overly busy like this. Enjoy it!
  3. Great story irontom, the search can be almost as much fun as finally getting hold of it. It's an unusual watch, bit of a headturner and i'm sure you'll get some good compliments on in the future. Wear it well! BTW I here you on omega service prices....bloody unbelieveable. You got it sorted at a good price, fair play. If you are ever getting a full service on it or anything else from omega it might be best sending it directly to them in Bienne, Switzerland. It would be expensive but at least you'll know they'll completely restore the watch to brand new condition. Some of the omega service centres seemingly can be a bit hit and miss in the quality of their full service and still charge a premium for it! I know the ones in UK are dreadful at times for mistakes and shoddy work. Anyway great watch
  4. Yeah saw that one, thanks though. Tis a very bad replication unfortunately, refer to this thread: http://www.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/what-incredible-tag-1887-56677.html Pity! looks like they just used the old carrera bezel and just glued it on to this one without any thought. Even the tachy bezel version of the gen which pretty nice itself is much sleeker and narrower than the old carrera style bezel. More TLC in the design is needed methinks!
  5. The middle link on watcheden for $88 with the discount is about as good as you'll get. You might see another with a few quid off on some of the other dealers. I'd say you'll have a hard time finding one 2nd user in the sales area. Best to just buy the watcheden one (straighten up the dial markers tho) and then give it a good trashing about to make it look like bond used it
  6. Nice watch, love the numerals...great pics aswell
  7. Unfortunately, there are no good reps of this. Actually they are very bad. I like alot the watch so ended up buying the gen. The reps are very inaccurate. You are better of with the blue dial at least there are passable reps of the original blue bond. However if you really want to get a rep then here are a few examples: http://www.1-pc8838.com/omse01010-seamaster-james-bond-collection-black-asian-28242-p-5017.html This is awful even though it is ETA. You are nearly better going with any of these...they look better and cheaper...more accurate dial etc but still well off the gen.... The middle link below is the supposed rep of that gen you pictured. http://www.watcheden.com/omega-seamaster--james-bond-with-black-dial-updated-version-i-20042-p-1.html http://www.watcheden.com/omega-seamaster-automatic-with-black-dial-and-bezel-i-17651-p-1.html http://www.watcheden.com/omega-seamaster-automatic-with-black-dial-i-12448-p-1.html
  8. This is a spectacular piece. No reps of this available yet! Such a shame! I particularly like it without the tachy bezel, really classy watch! Tag heuer have released some really impressive stuff recently. This seems much more refined than the previous carrera. Hurry up and make a superrep!
  9. Thanks guys, I was reading your review red, superb stuff. Thats what prompted me into getting this, best rep I've seen in a while. Great review!
  10. Thanks, sounds great. I'm glad you give the thumbs up on the watch, will wait now till after xmas and then pull the trigger. You got it in blue! ....glutton for punishment! You knew they can never get blues right! I love blue in this as well and I've probably too many black watches so I should go for it, we'll see. At least the blue the factories put on will guide you in the dark evenings. As regards the scamability, I'm no WIS but I know the watches I like, mainly omega, you know yourself that theres still along way to go to get many omegas right if we were to examine every detail but with new releases like this tag, its getting to the stage that you could quite easily pull of the sale of something like this on many gen sales forums. That is a significant step up for the factories.
  11. Thanks Sixx, yeah just what I was thinking, looks like a great rep though either way. Can't see myself pulling out another 60 dollars just to pay for the SW200. The eta will do fine. I get what you are saying about the the pinpoint accuracy and the scam potential, its gonna open a real can of worms in the future if they get accuracy so spot on, gonna need more than pics to tell reps from gen even for WIS. On the plus side for us it means that reps are improving dramatically with such close attention to detail from the factories. Onward and upward!
  12. What's the bloody difference between the two? Is this a gimmick? Both seem to have the exact same finishing and are 1:1 with the gen as far as parts interchange go: http://www.1-pc8838.com/00tgaq00088-aquaracer-500m-automatic-ssss-black-orig-movt-p-9331.html http://www.1-pc8838.com/tgaq01007-aquaracer-500m-automatic-ssss-black-swiss-2824-p-9323.html Yeah I get that the first has the Sellita 200 clone as on the original, and the other the swiss eta but how exactly can they justify charging $60 more for the first? Am I missing something? In the gen world the sellita 200 is regarded as being the inferior brother of the ETA 2824-2 so just what are we gaining here for this extra $60? A sense that the internals have an exact copy of an inferior ETA modification? I'm interested in this watch so I'd like to know
  13. Cheers guys, theres no chance of dropping an ETA in there as case is different size on the a21j, seems like a nice rep though. I've no issue with a21j as long as the case and finish are eta quality, I dont really care if its slightly out in size from the gen. I quite like the chrono version as well so humming and hawing over which to get. Wondering has anyone picked either up, but seeing as they are very new releases from omega then the reps cant have been out long. Yes I believe the gen has the Co-ax 8500 cal movement which apparently is the fix for all the flaws with the 2500 cal ...in fairness I've no issue with the 2500 Co-ax in my gen bond but I believe it is a bit of a temperamental bugger.
  14. Ah, I found one, puretime has them, a21j though: http://www.puretimewatch.com/product/aqua-terra-annual-calendar-ss-black-dial-a21j/
  15. http://www.swisswatchesdirect.co.uk/swisswatches/231_10_42_21_06_001-mens_watches.html http://uhrforum.de/omega-aqua-terra-231-10-42-21-06-001-a-t38880 Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Chronometer Automatic...gorgeous dress watch, also a great all rounder. Cant see any decent reps of this. Shouldn't be too hard to replicate surely? They have a basic version on main dealers sites, Josh has one for instance but cant see any around with this newer updated dial!
  16. If By-Tor says its a gen then its probably a gen! What about that pearl though By-Tor does that look a bit off center to you? Maybe its just the quality of the pics!
  17. Thanks guys. I'm just looking for a straight swap DG2813 <-> DG2813. So is it or isnt it a straight swap I don't mind having to check this out a bit with cousinsuk but I keep on reading that if the very basic asian21j DG2813 fails then its not worth servicing just straight swap out. Then it seems a straight swap is not all there is to it? Alot of people seem to be doing the high beat upgrade i.e... DG2813 <-> DG4813, which confuses things. I'm not really interested in that. Just the straight DG2813 swap. So do I have to worry about cannon pinion height for this? Its not too easy to get a straight answer and I've searched multiple forums. Some say yes no problem, some say no the DG2183 the reps use is different than those replacements bought in the shops.
  18. I have a steelfish with a dead asian 21J movement and I'd like to replace it. How easy is it to replace? If I buy a DG2813 from cousinsuk can I just swap it out (I have basic tools etc). I'm not interested in upgrading the movement I just want the watch working again but from reading the forums it doesnt seem to be as straight a swap as thought. Are there issues with size of the movement (i.e. might cause stem alignment issues) or the size of the part where the hands are replaced. I've seen some mention on forums about recessed cannon pinion and not being able to fit the hands. If it just gets too awkward I'm gonna leave it but that would disappoint me as I'd really like to be able to do a basic 21j movemnent swap. Any comment or ideas?
