  1. Got bumped in stop-and-go freeway traffic while on a motorcycle, and among the casualties were the bezel and crystal of my brand new rep. Worth fixing, or just sell for parts?
  2. Thanks, but unfortunately I'm in California. I did send Vaclume an email but I know he's swamped with mod requests.
  3. So after doing without any reps for a while; I picked up a nice PAM (a Perfect Clone watch via member sale ) that I wore and enjoyed for a couple of days before it died. I opened up the back and found a loose screw: the blue one just to the right of the balance wheel. The plate was loose to the touch and the toothed wheel it holds in place had a broken shaft and was floating free. Sorry I don't know the correct terms for these parts; but the broken bit is a toothed wheel located under a brass gear and the balance wheel. Any ideas where I could get this thing fixed without breaking the bank? I could probably replace it myself, but I don't think the broken shaft can be removed from the jewel without further disassembly; plus where would you get the part? Anyway it wouldn't hurt for you to check the screws in your PAMs.
  4. If there's any doubt, there is no doubt. It's good to go with a watch proportionate to your wrist and hand size, but a clearly oversized dial crosses over into pure look-at-me territory.
  5. Poker anyone? It helps to have a royal flush up your sleeve.
  6. Just a heads up for members in the NYC area: Tourneau sample sale No Rolex or PP, and usually no Panerai either, but you can get a nice new Breitling or Omega for half off retail if you show up early. You get the 1-year Tourneau warranty but not the manufacturer's.
  7. It looks like you can wear around your neck with the lanyard, then just sit back and let the ladies flock to you. About the watch though--I couldn't resist it. Maybe it will fit under my shirt cuff? Or I can strap it to the dash of my new P1800 "Saint" somehow?
  8. I never paid much attention to Chronoswiss, but this unusual model caught my eye: (I'm sure the rep gets the lume wrong on this one.) I always liked the distinctive Chronoswiss onion crown, but thought it was a bit out of proportion to the case. You don't have that problem with this behemoth of a watch from Basel 2008: I thought it was a display only piece, but apparently they will be for sale at 12,000 euros. While ridiculous, it immediately calls to mind the vintage dash-mounted Heuer rally timers. It might be kind of cool and functional for vintage racing, but where else could you wear something like this?
  9. False in what way? That might be one of the douchiest photos ever taken, but it's the best one I've seen that shows how the Safari appears in person. The black/white rep is a good example of a watch made from internet photos and brochures.
  10. My cloths just got here, I'm going to shine up my Skyland and 112 tonight. Anyone used them on solid platinum?
  11. Amongst the angry young left-coast set; it's suddenly acceptable to be pro-USA. Wonder how long that will last. It doesn't matter to me what color the dude (or chick) in charge is, but hopefully we are one step closer to it not mattering to most people. Racism is incredibly boring.
  12. Reminds me of this Steinhausen Beethoven disaster:
