Thanks Red, Unless someone comes up with a viable and simply way to modd the case , it may be done -
First off I want to say that our very own FGD is the truest of gentlemen and that to me his dials are every bit the Ultimate achievement in a long line of wonderous RWG homespun projects!! I certainly love this watch and I have another of his (a beauty of a 202a dial vintagized by Flav, and a matching El 202a case) half assembled, awaiting a PVD case I procured. Had an old school Pre V style case An EL Caseback (I think) a very nice set of slightly vintagized lumed hands T Crown a beautiful Swiss Movement from otto Frei FGD's newest and greatest 201a dial which showed up three days ago (KUDOS TO SIMON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and a V CG, perfectly finished assembly took me no more than a half hour. With setting the case clamps taking the most time. Finally the V CG and ,..... BLAH, though it fits and locks the crown perfectly like a gen, look at the friggen gaps at the top and bottom where it meets the case. I fully understand that grinding, filing and sanding are likely needed to make a seemless fit though I have had numerous cases in the past that fit snuggly to a V CG perfectly. My question, I suppose, is how to approach this without F-ing with the V CG. I suppose I can live with it but I would rather not and I am not touching the V. What can I or a modder do to a case to rectify the situation.

Boys I am selling this dial for a friend I would keep it if i didn't already pay for one of FGD's beautiful new 201a's I bought this on behalf of a friend (with the intention of building a super duper 201 who now wants a VDB instead?) from a friend and a very well respected modder. The dial has been lumed in a vintagized tritium style-superlume mix and also satin sprayed by Flav which makes it special regardless of who made it. There is no question that this is a beautiful dial by any stretch of the imaginaton. The question is who made it. The friend who I bought it from originally bought it from a seller who claimed it was a Gen 1 FGD. Fish I hope you read this and offer your two cents. Anyway who made this beauty of a dial????? FGD?? DSN??? Panerai?????? Old Goriot??????? I just want to pust it to bed so I can sell it for my friend at a fair price and move on. Your help would be greatly appreciated

Yup I believe for Platimun members first and then for the rest

Wow did I stumble into a lucky situation. A couple months back I helped my best friend find a vintageized basedial Pam. It just so happened that the watch we found had an excellent short lug case with pre V screws and T crown and an EL caseback (subtly vintageized) The dial is actually pretty good too(vintageized lume davdisen) Well now my friend calls me and tells me he wants a VDB like the one I found his brother. I have one of FGD's new 201a dials coming!! So I buy the watch. Holy Crap!!!! It's really all coming together properly for once

PM fishgodeep and ask him about availability

RC Tritec is the company that produces superluminova which is in fact based on a japanese Company patent (Nemato??). Even the best superluminova will not glow at full intensity that long. You should get a very bright glow at full charge and then it will gradually fade but should still be legible in the dark. The more superluminova you use, typically the brighter the glow. And some colors will glow brighter than others. C3 which is a pale green color when uncharged will glow the brightest and longest. C1 which is white is not as intense or longlasting. Contact Rex, The Zigmeister or Vac and ask them all the questions you like. Rex goes by Trex650 or Trex450 here as a platinum supporter. Good luck
-
They wuld use Super Luminova which is the same Lume found in high end Swiss watches. Usually a sandwich dial relume costs about $150-$200. Rex is running a special over on the Geek that includes a Relume and regulation of the movement.

HA, Knowing is half the battle!!! Take some pics and post them when you get a chance, we'll do a big sticky rep Vs. Gen RXW post
-
A Stainless stell T crown A new Cartel RXW Pay Rex, The Zigmeister, Vac or Flav to Lume it Dunno prob around $350-$400 ish I'll let you know if I decide to make one
-
Hard to tell on even alot of high end gens when they have genuine papers , box and accessories. And the Cartel Rep is pretty good. But the dead giveway is the Fiddy style pam bullet head crown. Ken's Trading NEVER used that crown style. Always had the typical Pam Dish style crown. Also the shape of the genuine Sapphire is much more unique, not so fat and round like a Fiddy crystal but more flat on the edges and domed in the middle. The Genuine mineral is fat and round like a Fiddy crystal but there is no distortion of the numbers under the crystal on the mineral If I can't find another gen I may build my own ultimate RXW rep with a T Crown and a more accurate sapphire crystal
-
$1500-ish. 100% gen with sapphire crystal. I want it back ,....BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Z take a look at the crown. My gen Ken's trading I sold to you had a dish style crown no? This one have a Fiddy style crown like the cartel and Davidsen replicas = FAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Looks like he's passing off his genuine box set, maybe the Connoly strap(although I can't tell from the pictures) and mating them with a Davidsen or Cartel MM20. Or the poor duche got screwed and bought a rep that came with a gen accessories set. Either way not a gen. FAKE FAKE FAKE Here's a legit one http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=4595880&rid=0 and another http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=4397811&rid=0

AHHHHHH!!! You're killing me man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jackie Pics are definately of a gen but it is the mineral crystal version NOT sapphire. The sapphire has noticable distortions of the dial. Hope you get the same watch as advertised its a gen and a beauty but not a sapphire model. The sapphire gen was also flat around the edges and domed in the middle. Even so worth the price for sure for a gen
