Jesus T Flav works fast!!!! Just awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gonna have Rex build one for me when the next batch of FGD dials come thru. He's fine tuning my FGD 202a right now hope to have it by the middle of next week
-
T What's up with the FGD dial you got from me?? I have seller's remorse
-
Ha T where are all the other boys at with our home court closed for repairs?

Excellent post. No doubt to me that the Ultimate edges out DSN on the date(by a very very wide no contest margin) crown, Crown Guard. I have decided for my next project to emulate Rolli's 229 project and try to have Rex do as many of the same mods as my budget will allow. Going to substitute the LH CG for the V because of costs (they are however identical) already have a couple T crowns but I hope to find a palp auto instead and Rex or Vac will do the relume, and of course a gen Eta valjoux 7750

Thanks Rollie I have decided this must be my next project and the best part is i have the eta valjoux 7750 already. Now all I need is everything else,..sigh.. I wish V CG's grew on trees

Amazing Rolli is this the same ultimate 229 (before the modifications) that Andrew and Josh sell? I have always wanted to take up a 229 project but I heard that Davidson has a better dial than the ultimate. I can't imagine a dial looking better than yours. Also would the V cg be correct for this watch or the more flat E series type auto crowns? I think the polished V looks stunning personally but I am curious. Jesus what a stunning watch. And how in the hell did they add a new tube to the case thanks for sharing

Any recommendations on someone to Relume my PAM027A?
tanya replied to BigCrown's topic in The Panerai Area
Vacume - Vac's modification shop right here on RWG or Rex on RG Both are master's. Vac's hand applied lume is legendary and he has a forum here so if you want to support the home team enlist Vac. Rex on the geek is also terrific, especially with respect to mixing concoctions for maximum glow. Contact both of them and see who you feel more comfey with. Both are every bit as good as the hype -
Simply amzingly jaw droppingly gorgeous!!! My FGD 201a project must have the avitt treatment!!! Now to find a damn case,....sigh......................
-
Yes please This has me incredibly intrigued!! I just picked up a FGD new 201a dial and it's burning a whole in my pocket already. I intend for this to be a longer term project but I know I want a DLC case for sure!!! Same boat as you though, now I have to find the right case. Davidson, other , sigh....

I owned two Genuine Ken's Trading RXW MM 20's . One with a Plastic crystal and one with Sapphire. I still get sick about selling the Sapphire RXW to one of our very own brothers here. All these RXW knockoffs are about as close to the genuine RXW as most of the Fiddy's are to a genuine Panerai 1950. (Not Very) All the Reps, even the nicest one from Josh, has an incorrect CG and Crown. Also if the crystal is sapphire on these reps it is also all wrong. The genuine RXW sapphire was prettier than a Panerai Sapphire (Domed in the middle and Flat on the outside) with nice real AR (Not crappy blue film) The Connoly Strap may be the nicest 26mm hide ever mass produced for a watch. Connoly was the leather maker for the British Royal Family and regarded as the finest leather maker in all of England. There is NO mistaking the Connolly leather strap. Not even the Mario Paci's I own come close to the suppleness and construction of the strap. The Wooden box was a Ford Fame Box, one of the most ellegant jewelry box makers in the world. Every bit as nice if not nicer than the Genuine Pam Pearwood Boxes. and it also came with a nice set of Bergeron screwdrivers as well All in all a first class presentation and worth every bit of the $1200-2000.00 they went for when available There are alot of fakes on ebay. From time to time members here or on RG will send me a link to check an "RXW"'s authenticity. For those with Sapphire crystals on a supposed Connoly Strap it is easy. For the Mineral Crystal versions on the other black waterproof strap that came with the original RXW's it is a bit harder Here's a pic of my old Mineral Crystal Gen RXW on a Bob Strap (the Connolly is on the side, the black waterproof calf in the front) Sorry deleted most of my RXW pics when I sold the watches. Point is buyer beware. I have not seen a genuine Ken's Trading RXW for sale in almost a year a watch worth $1500 or more! Most are $200.00 (at Most) marina Militare's. Some are very nice and very moddable watches

Thanks Ubi Currently my favorite watch by far. Thinking of swapping in something Swiss for the asian for something to do

What Version is my Beauty?? Not sure of the version but I know it's my most beloved piece!!
-
Beautiful!!! Proud to own a couple of special Vac pieces!!!
-
Dunno I think they are pretty prefect the way they are. Maybe some produced with Gen sized stem tubes and springs
-
Nice - Vac and Rex make some very special Pams

How can You split the sandwichdial on a fiddy?
tanya replied to klocklind1's topic in The Panerai Area
Love that Dial!!! Nice tutorial -
Nice work Gio
-
Nice Lani as usual But I'm fed up on this one. If I can get Josh or Andrew to sell me the dial only and have Rex mount it for me I would be a happy camper but to go thru this whole version of the month thing again makes me want to vomit!!!
-
Another winner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Rex is as good as it gets!! He has no inner circle list ( which is fine for those that have one as it is perfectly withing their rights to do so!!!) Rex is a movement Maestro, His Lume work is stunning, He now does AR, his mods are terrific and he is a great guy I have also had excellent work done with Vac! Give Rex and or Vac a try

No Date Window Bevel = NO DEAL!!! Looks exactly the same as my Trusty V3, where's the difference??? I'm with Kruzer on this one, I had thought about using some tax moolah to stimulate ebay and buy one of the (dropping in price every day) Deep Seas Screw it!! Gonna buy a Pam 104 or 024 instead, enjoy my 5 gen Rollies and live with my V3 Deepsea
